Coming in the place is really cute, only thing is I wish the staff would give you instruction since it's the first time being there for some people, but I figured it out anyway, you grab a cup and just fill it with whatever you want and the price is by the weight. They were still nice, offered other toppings in the end like whipped cream or syrups. They had lots of flavors of frozen yogurt to choose from (and apparently some more coming soon), a lot of toppings too! From cheese cake cubes to brownies & sour candy they pretty much had a lot of options. I'm simple so I just wanted vanilla with cookie crumbs, cheesecake cubes cause it seemed interesting, brownies, & cookie dough bites. My kids of course wanted more colorful choices and flavors. There's a lot of spots to sit in, lounging around or just sitting on a table & chairs, there's some outdoor seating as well. Place was very very clean which is a plus! The kids love anything ice cream and frozen yogurt- and sweet frog is no exception. Nothing beats the feel of eating something cold on a hot summer day. I would say the selection of flavors here is okay. It's can be hit or miss. This past trip the non-dairy stations were either out or not working, so be aware of that. The kids highly enjoy the feeling of being an adult and serving themselves and mix and matching flavors and being control of the amount of toppings. You don't get that at every place. This used to be one of our favorite spots for frozen yogurt, but we've noticed they been dealing with the same issues over the past few months (at least during our visits). While there are plenty of flavors to choose from, my personal favorite, the mango, has been unavailable for quite some time. It's understandable that machines can have issues, but we've observed that on several occasions, multiple machines have been out of order, which can be quite disappointing when you have kids. Tonight, they had 6 unavailable. We've also noticed that at times, there seems to be a lack of staff presence at the register, which can lead to longer wait times for customers. It would be wonderful to see more attention given to the maintenance of the machines and the overall training of the staff. I understand that managing a business can be tough, but taking proactive steps to ensure the machines are in good working order, flavors are available, and providing attentive service would improve the customer experience. read more

Me and a couple of friends came here around 8:58 right before closing not knowing it was closing soon because there was around 10 people sitting down and still taking orders. Normally we clean up after ourselves but this time I was in a rush and walking out and didn't notice, my 12 year old left some napkins behind. The older lady (blond hair / glasses) working behind the counter decided she should yell at us as we were walking out and tell us to go back and grab the napkins. I'll admit that all of these frozen yogurt places generally tend to run together for me, but I can certainly point out some things that I appreciate about this Sweet Frog location that are enough to make this one of my favorites. We got here at about 9pm (they close at 10 on Tuesdays) and there were a few small groups of teens hanging out in the comfy booths and chairs they have. I like the idea of kids choosing to hang out at a frozen yogurt place- I suppose it's today's version of the malt shop. And for anyone who would let the presence of teens be a deterrent- don't. There was no reason to. Sweet Frog has a selection of various frozen yogurts and sorbets to choose from, and in the middle of every two flavors is a lever that mixes the two together (so if you have like frozen yogurt and cheesecake frozen yogurt, the middle lever makes key lime pie). There are two cup sizes- big and bigger (which is nice for fitting toppings). Each frozen yogurt has the nutrition facts and dietary info next to it, which is nice if you're counting calories or have any allergies or food sensitivities. I usually go the chocolate/peanut butter/cookie route, but tonight I got half coconut yogurt and half raspberry pomegranate sorbet (non-dairy on the latter), and topped it with strawberries, blackberries, and coconut flakes. SO good! My friend got maybe five different kinds of frozen yogurt, which I know for sure included mint, mango, and classic tart......topped with kiwis, Oreos, wafer cone, and an array of other interesting choices......he ate it all and seemed to like it, so I'll give him that! You pay by weight, I believe I paid $4.05 for 7.4 ounces. They have a loyalty card where you can earn a free small frozen yogurt for every ten you buy. They also have cool way to raise money for a good cause. They have a program that allows you to fill out an application requesting that 10% of the sales on a given day go to a specific charity. They'll advertise with signs and social media, they'll ask the same of you and that you get your friends and family to visit that day as well. It's cool that they have this system of getting involved with charity and staying routed in the community. So, yes. I know these frozen yogurt places are all very popular right now, but Sweet Frog is definitely a favorite of mine. Very clean, nice hangout spot, good variety of frozen yogurt flavors and various toppings, reasonably priced, loyalty program, and interested in contributing to giving back- can't go wrong here! read more

I've never tried frozen yogurt and decided to give it a try. Picked up a swirl of Oreo froyo with brownie topping. So when you walk in, you pick up one of the cups and head over to the ice cream dispensers. They're neatly labeled so you know what's what. Just look up. After you get all the ice cream that you could ever imagine, head over to the topping station and add whatever your heart desires. Then go to the cashier and they will weigh your cup. You pay per pound. To be honest, I didn't see what's so special about it. It kinda tasted like regular soft serve ice cream. Was disappointed. This is, I think, the closest sweetfrog to me after the one in Tolland closed. I love Sweetfrog - even with its very religious background (ie. sweet FROG is Fully Rely on God, bible verses on the cups, etc). Usually I go in, grab the smallest cup I can find, get some cookies and cream froyo and add some Reese's PB Cups, chocolate sprinkles, maple walnuts and a little hot fudge. This time though, they didn't have any PB cups. I was shocked. I've been to three locations and they've always had it. Also, the "PB sauce" is usually just regular PB. This is a bummer because they used to have a true PB sauce. Additionally, while I was there, a family came in with a little girl who was sticking her fingers in froyo and licking them an the machines to find a flavor she liked. While the woman working noticed and got them some sample cups, I didn't see her do anything to sanitize the machines after. It grossed me out a bit. read more

One star review for, in my opinion, a very good reason. Read on dear Yelper. In ManchVegas today to do a little price shopping for an upcoming purchase and wanted a little cold treat. Seeing this sign in prior trips, I decided to stop in and give it a go. It's a good sized location in the Plaza at Buckland Hills. Sixteen flavors of frozen yogurt along with tons of toppings, it's one of those places that makes you pay by the weight of your choice (53¢ per ounce). The froyo was good, too. I had peanut butter and chocolate. However, it's what my companion and I discovered while eating that causes me to give only one star. As we were happily eating our treat, my very observant companion noticed, in small print on the cup, "John 3:16". Fascinating...a froyo establishment that has printed on its cups the bible verse on which Christianity was built. A subtle bit of proselytizing if I do say so myself. Yet upon further investigation, we found that the word "frog" in "Sweet Frog" is an acronym that stands for "Fully Rely On God". And that's where I get upset. Being the son of a man who possessed a theological doctorate (and a currently non-practicing Congregationalist), I know that true and honest Christianity frowns upon shoving The Word down others' throats. In fact, in Matthew 6, Christians are forbidden from praying in public in an effort to be noticed. To place bible verses on cups and to name your business in such a way that puts the supposed faith on notice is a direct contradiction of proper Christian teachings. Here's a couple of questions for those who frequent this establishment... 1. You're an atheist. How do you rationalize doing business with a concern that forces you to soak in Christian ideals when you purchase? 2. You're a teacher. You give away Sweet Frog gift cards as an incentive program in your PUBLIC school. How do you now cope with the separation of church and state problems you might encounter if a child's parents figure this out? And what if you give one of these rewards to a member of your class who happens to be an atheist, or a muslim, or Hindu? Are you prepared for the inevitable backlash that you'll encounter? 3. Can one work at Sweet Frog and be an atheist concurrently? Or can one of a Jewish background work here without retribution? And what if your denomination supports marriage equality? Is that supported by the owner's denomination and faith? See the many, many problems this creates? All in the name of froyo? Due to these issues, I will not be back. I cannot support an establishment that puts their Christian beliefs on display in such a manner. read more

So I'll start by saying that I am in my mid-20s. Yes, the decor is pretty shockingly pink and green and really childish. However, I plowed right past it (and the hoards of preteens out at 9 pm on a Thursday) to get to the back of the store to the yogurt machines. This is a self-serve place which I prefer greatly. Why? I hate having to decide between different flavors. I asked to try four of them. The cashier had tiny little cups and got me a sample of the ones I requested without a problem. I liked all of them (chocolate, coffee, nutella, and peanut butter) so I added a little bit of each to my cup since I couldn't pick which one to have because they were all SO rich and delicious. I like just as much variety for toppings on my froyo, so I liked that I got to pick out my toppings to. I wanted one piece of fruit of each type of fruit? YA! NO PROB. They had a huge variety of toppings including different sauces. Would I have sat there and enjoyed this delicious treat? No. Is this my new go-to for takeout froyo. Absolutely. I had no idea this place existed near me until my sisters pestered us to go one day. When they said 'frozen yogurt' I lit up like a Christmas tree. I'm a froyo fanatic, I can't help it! So we went. We stepped into the place. Ho-lee crap. My first thought was the place looked like some kind child nursery out of a story book on acid. Chairs, couches, tons of stuffed animal merch, bookshelves...what the heck?? And then I spotted the back of the shop. Not hard to miss, seeing the giant mob. And then the yogurt dispensers. Bingo! We got in line, grabbed our cups. The sizes are 'huge' and 'gluttony'. No middle ground. I opted for the smallest (i.e. 'huge'). I was awed at the staggering amount of flavors and the wide variety. They ranged from the light subtle Original to the heavy, decadent Cable Car Chocolate. I opted for a mix of Raspberry, Georgia Peach, Mango and Pineapple. Mmm, mmm! Onto the toppings, huge amount of choices there as well. I piled mine high with shave coconut, fresh raspberries, mangoes, strawberries, and mochi. My sisters and father made their selections, we check out. We looked for lids, seeing as we were not eating there (the place was SWARMING with noisy small children). None were left. We had to use more cups to cover ours. And there were no trays to carry out our yogurts. Bummer! And then I noticed....on a worker's t-shirt: "Fully/Rely/On/God" What in the world....? We managed to get our confections home without spilling them in the car and devoured them. The combination of fruity flavors were simply amazing, and the hassle of getting them home was soooo worth it! I ate half of it, and put the rest of my freezer for later. And then I got on my computer and did a bit of research. This place is a Christian-based organization, touting their beliefs under the guise of delicious frozen yogurt and cute (but slightly creepy) frog plushies. I...didn't know what to make of that. I'm giving Sweet Frog two stars not because of the quality of their main product (I love it, I really do) but because this whole place is just so...bizarre. Unsettling. Creepy. One of my favorite fro-yo places in the area! This place has delicious frozen yogurt (as well as some non-dairy sorbet) and plenty of toppings to choose from. This location also is very clean, with plenty of seating for dining in. I decided to try the Nutella fro-yo, which was amazing---very smooth and not too sweet, but you can DEFINITELY taste the hazelnut flavor. As much I love the Nutella spread, I've tried some Nutella-flavored ice cream and other frozen yogurts which were "too rich" or "too sweet", but this Nutella fro-yo was just right! From the topping bar, I had cheesecake bites (which was a pleasant first experience for me), strawberries, bananas, and hot fudge. In addition, my significant other had Nutella fro-yo mixed with Chocolate Sorbet, that was topped with cookie dough bites, and brownies. What's great about the Chocolate Sorbet was that it was non-dairy, which is suitable for lactose intolerant customers. What a great treat for both of us! What I favored about this place was how clean the location is, and how attentive the workers are. When my significant other and I wanted to sample the Nutella fro-yo, they saw us and assisted us in giving us small cups of samples (which they got directly from the machine themselves). (My guess is that they want to make sure that everything is clean and nothing is contaminated.) Amazing pumpkin froyo with the perfect ratio of toppings and great service on Friday night!

This little froyo gem is snuggled in the middle of that long strip of stores in the Olive Garden plaza. What I love about Sweet Frog is the "swirl" option that will combine the two neighboring froyo flavors into a "twist" style. I went with the chocolate and peanut butter combo flavor twist, which was a total win. There was one machine that was totally on the fritz, only spitting out liquid, and no one seemed to care to remedy it, or put a sign on it to tell people that if they had their heart set on the strawberry or cheesecake flavor that day (which my friend was), they were out of luck. I also wish they just kept a stash of those tiny tasting cups out for the taking, as it becomes a pain to bother the one cashier on duty when it's busy. The topping selection was on point, and so very clean. All of the buckets were full, so we didn't feel like we were choosing stuff that had been out for days. They also had warm hot fudge and caramel, as well as a good selection of other bottled sauce toppings and whipped cream. We were able to sit at one of the tables outside, which was awesome, and also very clean. If you are in the area and in the mood for froyo, this Sweet Frog is definitely where it's at! read more

When it comes to franchise, frozen yogurt - I've only had Pinkberry. Enter 'Sweet Frog', I came here with a friend and we were both curious as to what this new "fro-yo" place was all about. Upon entering, I threw up a little in my mouth by the very creepy and gawky set-up and decor. You are immediately greeted by neon green, magenta, and white everything. Not to mention the huge stand of just souvenirs of frogs and t-shirts. All the way in the back of the store, there are about 10-15 stations of different fro-yo flavors. I opted for the original (which was very airy, light, and almost non-existent) while my friend had the 'cable-car chocolate' (which she said was very rich and dense) Compared to Pinkberry, Sweet Frog certainly has more topping options. Not one to slander my "original flavor" goodness, I just added chopped almonds. While my friend had all types of fruits and candies on her "creation". I will probably not come here again if I had a severe case of frozen yogurt anxiety. Though it is a bit cheaper than Pinkberry, the overall presentation is just weird and off-putting, and the actual yogurt itself didn't seem to be high-quality. Very similar to the Glastonbury location of Sweet Frog. As with the Glastonbury location, it has good frozen yogurt and several types of flavors. I really like the original tart. I tried the mint today, and that was delicious. Lots of great toppings, including fresh fruit, poppers, cookies and candy. Also hot fudge, caramel, marshmallow, etc. All self-serve. Not really pleasing with the selection of flavors coz they have the same flavors for a really long time. The taste of the yogurt too isn't that great when compared to their glastonbury outlet. I grew up on TCBY and having found this place I've fallen in love. Its close to where I live and on my way home from work. My boyfriend and I go a couple times a month. The staff is always friendly and the place is nice and clean. All the flavors and toppings I have a hard time making a choice. Its brightly decorated and has seating inside and out. As for the religious undertone others have written about, I've never noticed it. There's nothing in your face, its so subtle you'd never know it was there until others have started talking about it. Update. So I decided to try again. My mistake. My troubles started as soon as I walked through the door and picked up a cup. I decided to try the "NSA COFFEE," a label which didn't seem very appropriate for a purportedly Christian establishment but who am I to judge. Turns out it meant No Sugar Added, but I've apparently spent too much time in the Personals section of Craigslist and jumped to conclusions. Upon pulling the lever, the machine angrily spat out frothy specks of brown liquid which did not at all resemble froyo, but sure as hell managed to get all over my shirt. Frustration ensued and I chose another flavor. Part two of my frustrated crusade arrived when I tried to pay and was greeted with the fact that they don't accept AMEX or $100 bills, the latter of which is a legal form of currency which In fact has to be accepted at cash bearing establishments, but apparently they're too good for that here. These were the only two forms of payment I had, so I deferred to my friend to buy my messy frozen dessert. Lastly, upon paying, I discovered that in this brand new year, apparently "Fully Rely(ing) On God" doesn't seem to be working out that well, as the price per ounce has increased from 49¢ to 58¢. I understand I'm an individual carting around Benjamins and AMEX platinums, but it's the principle of the matter. I think I'm one of the few people who thinks this place is just OK. I went to the South Windsor location. The space was nice and there were plenty of seats and they offered outdoor seating. The selection of flavors and toppings were in abundance. I thought the location was clean and the staff members were pleasant. I didn't care for the sizes of the cup. I'd like there to be a smaller option than the two choices that were given. Also, I wasn't prepared to weigh my dessert. This was my first time going, so essentially this was my tasting visit to Sweet Frog. Most of the weight comes from the toppings which kinda isnt fair, but "to each, his own". As if the realization that we were getting served some extra helpings of "The Lord" weren't enough, the cashier scheduled on Sat July 12th was abhorrently rude. After taking my money and a generous tip from me without so much as a smile, my friend noticed that their caramel sauce either needed to be stirred or was diluted. The topping choices are plentiful and I personally find the workers there to be some of the happiest, sweetest people I've even run into at a quickie food establishment. WONDERFUL!! I eat it almost everyday. One of the benefits of sweet frog oppose to other places is that they don't change you for individual toppings. I know there's other places like that, but still, it's a plus. There's usually never a wait and all the flavors are always up and running. I enjoy the topping options. The store is always clean too!
