A cute country shop with a quaint homey feel to it. There were many knick knacks and craft items. They had a nice sized candy section. There are random toys like a teeth chattering one that my toddler liked. There are candles and spices. We bought an item; painted wood of the American flag for our living room. The prices were decent. We spent a little more on the wooden board because it was handmade by a local artist and we love to support small businesses. Overall, a nice store and you can find many gift items here too. read more

Old Wethersfield Country Store is an adorable must stop if you're visiting the area, particularly if you're from out of town. The store is filled with all kids of local nicknacks. They have local, handmade candles, olive oil, honey, seasonings, soaps, ice cream, candy, tea, etc.. There are toys, town tee-shirts, self serve kombucha, really anything and everything is in this store. It's really fun to browse and notice all the cute and quirky items they sell. The man working here today wasn't at all friendly, he never said a word. I think that depends on the day, on who gets what day. I enjoy coming to this store, their kombucha is delicious, you can mix the flavors since it is self serve. read more

"You're my girl, what the doctor ordered So sweet, you make my mouth water Some day soon I'll make you mine Then I'll have candy all the time I want candy, I want candy" (I Want Candy -Bow Wow Wow) You can buy quite a variety of goodies in the Wethersfield Country Store, but candy really takes center stage here. Packaged candy in boxes and bags. Bulk candy stored in those old fashioned jars. Home made chocolates and truffles. Lots of chocolate bars, and chocolate covered pretzels, ... well you get the idea. Throw in a big selection of novelties, magic tricks, gourmet foods in cans and jars, health and beauty aids, gallons of flavored oils, a big selection of cheese and cured meats, weird toys (ever want a Crazy Cat Lady action figure?), and nostalgic toys (how about Silly Putty or Gumby and Pokey?) and you get a pretty representative idea of what you'll find all over their shelves and in their show cases. You can easily spend half an hour just wandering around and taking in all of their wonderful sights. We bought a container of Cheddar with Cranberry Spread by Covered Bridge that was quite delicious read more

Love. Love. LOVE. This. Place. To start... the owner is a female 40 under 40 award recipient!! Then... there are high quality gifts/finds of all kinds!!! Toys, soaps/candles/lotions, cheeses, chocolate and ice cream, and when I say toys... I mean... ORIGINAL PEANUTS COLORFORM SET?!? HELLO!! Spirographs, funny mits/magnets/cards, art work. Put it this way... I went in for one thing and came out with gifts for five people, cheese for apps, chocolate for the kids AND I'd supported a woman owned local business at the same time. Check. It. Old Wethersfield Country Store - How fun?!? - Candy Stores Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

We ordered two sympathy gift baskets to be delivered to two different family members with different names at two different addresses in two different towns. Each order even had its own independent order number. One was delivered and one was not. The explanation from Natasha was that she thought it was a double order so one was not fulfilled. When questioned how to remedy the situation in the future, Natasha became irate and hung up the phone. We still don't know the status of the second basket because Natasha was too quick to hang up the phone and not hold herself accountable for her errors. Our credit card has been charged $79 but the status of the basket remains unknown. If you choose to shop here, expect the worst customer service you have ever experienced. Update: The basket was (finally) delivered. read more

I love all the homemade soaps and lotions, the Wethersfield swag, the cooking supplies, baked goods, and especially their cheese! I always end up spending way more money than I intend to because I love everything. My favorite part of the store is the decorations, especially the Harry Potter theme! Old Wethersfield Country Store - A fun find in Old Wethersfield! - Candy Stores Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

This place is awesome. It reminds me of a store out of Gilmore Girls/Stars Hollow. Good: - Lots of selection for anything you could think of - Everything local - Very friendly workers - Yummy food - Great location in Old Wethersfield - SO MANY POKESTOPS (they are even offering a discount on Italian ice if you play Pokemon Go) Not as good: - A little on the pricey end? But let's be real- it's local stuff, and it's hard to find inexpensive local items read more

Very disappointed in the store's communication. I called 5 days ago to inquire about placing an order for a sign. The owner would not come to the phone so my information was taken with the promise of a call back with options, price etc... No call back. No follow up. Luckily, I was able to find another country store, America the Beautiful, who was more than happy to accommodate my request. read more

Cute store with something for everyone This is a nice little store packed full of gourmet foods, gift basket items, candy, funny gifts and other items. Staff always friendly and welcoming. What a fun place. They have a unique variety of high-end groceries, including a lot of local selections. I picked up an amazing cheese from Cato Corner. There are plenty of sweets, breads, sauces, and tons more. The highlight for me was the kombucha on draft, which you can buy in a bottle or growler. I'll be back on a semi-regular basis for that alone - theirs is less expensive and tastes much better than what you'll find at the supermarket. read more

I've been following them on Instagram for a bit but I live in Louisiana so I had to wait for a visit to CT to make it in and see for myself all the cool things they post! Things that are super exciting: Kombucha on tap! Huge array of nut and peanut butters! Nora cupcakes! SO MUCH CANDY! Olive oils! They also have take-home meals in a freezer, local breads, and chocolates. I think this is a great little addition to the Old Wethersfield area and definitely fits the vibe. If I lived back in Weth, I'd be there every day! read more

Come on, you can't pass up that giant wall of candy. Why has nobody mentioned this? It's candy, for God's sake. CANDY. Also, I love the food. The sodas are nice (if sometimes quirky, but in a great way) and it's just a great little local delight. Smells amazing too. Great for kids, mostly because of that candy wall. Love it!!!!!
