Such a cute store with lots of unique items- candles with cute names, dish towels and oven mitts with funny sayings on them, tons of old time candy, etc. They have unique ice cream flavors and flavored olive oils. So many interesting items in one little charming store!

    Selection of some local goods.

Old Wethersfield Country Store is an adorable must stop if you're visiting the area, particularly if you're from out of town. The store is filled with all kids of local nicknacks. They have local, handmade candles, olive oil, honey, seasonings, soaps, ice cream, candy, tea, etc.. There are toys, town tee-shirts, self serve kombucha, really anything and everything is in this store. It's really fun to browse and notice all the cute and quirky items they sell. The man working here today wasn't at all friendly, he never said a word. I think that depends on the day, on who gets what day. I enjoy coming to this store, their kombucha is delicious, you can mix the flavors since it is self serve.

"You're my girl, what the doctor ordered So sweet, you make my mouth water Some day soon I'll make you mine Then I'll have candy all the time I want candy, I want candy" (I Want Candy -Bow Wow Wow) You can buy quite a variety of goodies in the Wethersfield Country Store, but candy really takes center stage here. Packaged candy in boxes and bags. Bulk candy stored in those old fashioned jars. Home made chocolates and truffles. Lots of chocolate bars, and chocolate covered pretzels, ... well you get the idea. Throw in a big selection of novelties, magic tricks, gourmet foods in cans and jars, health and beauty aids, gallons of flavored oils, a big selection of cheese and cured meats, weird toys (ever want a Crazy Cat Lady action figure?), and nostalgic toys (how about Silly Putty or Gumby and Pokey?) and you get a pretty representative idea of what you'll find all over their shelves and in their show cases. You can easily spend half an hour just wandering around and taking in all of their wonderful sights. We bought a container of Cheddar with Cranberry Spread by Covered Bridge that was quite delicious

I haven't been back to this Old Wethersfield Country Store in YEARS, but I'm so excited @wanderinghoneys reminded me of it Located of course in Old Wethersfield, CT, this quaint little store has so much to offer! I'm always so pumped when I find new stationary or stickers, and I'm SO happy I found what I did I got Schitt's Creek stickers, a Ron Swanson card, cute napkins, and a butter beer scented candle from Welles House - check them out, they're tagged in the pic above! You can also order custom cheese plates, get some ice cream, cupcakes or chocolates, and different flavored olive oils that you can come back and refill! This store really has it all, and it's worth the visit!

    How fun?!?

Love. Love. LOVE. This. Place. To start... the owner is a female 40 under 40 award recipient!! Then... there are high quality gifts/finds of all kinds!!! Toys, soaps/candles/lotions, cheeses, chocolate and ice cream, and when I say toys... I mean... ORIGINAL PEANUTS COLORFORM SET?!? HELLO!! Spirographs, funny mits/magnets/cards, art work. Put it this way... I went in for one thing and came out with gifts for five people, cheese for apps, chocolate for the kids AND I'd supported a woman owned local business at the same time. Check. It. Out!!

I always love stopping by OWCS. They have the best cheeses and ice cream flavors I've ever had. I especially love stopping in with each season and seeing what different decorations are up and what seasonal items they have for sale. Meg the owner makes the most beautiful cheese gift baskets, and you can tell how much thought goes into everything in the store. If you're ever in a pinch for a last minute gift for someone, you should definitely stop by, there's something for everyone here.

Always the cutest decor, inside and out!

My birthday is coming up and my boyfriend asked me what I wanted to do. I told him I wanted to go to the Country Store, I love it that much! I love all the homemade soaps and lotions, the Wethersfield swag, the cooking supplies, baked goods, and especially their cheese! I always end up spending way more money than I intend to because I love everything. My favorite part of the store is the decorations, especially the Harry Potter theme! They are very thorough and detailed throughout the store.

Cute little shop located on Main Street. Lots of interesting items to purchase and try. Very fancy wall of candy and interesting Local Foods and flavors. A note on customer service, very friendly and when an item wasn't in stock I was able to purchase it via phone and have my Kevin t-shirts shipped directly to Florida.

A fun find in Old Wethersfield!

And that adorableness comes in twenty flavor varieties - peanut butters, candies, fruits, cookies, and of course...chocolates. They cost between $1 and $1.20 each depending on the quantity you want. I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Now that's easier said than done because the store is small and only has a counter with two stools. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. Indulge By Palazzo also specializes in coffees and protein shakes to help you wash down those donuts, and it looks like they are set up to sell ice cream in season. If you are a donut hound, and appreciate adorableness, indulge yourself with a visit to Palazzo and walk out with a box of their petite sweet treats.

I've had food prepared by Nancy (the owner) before and always had my taste buds yearning for more, but last night I was able to step into the kitchen with her and take one of her informative, fun and very delicious cooking classes. I went with my team from work, and it was a great environment where once we all strapped on our Ginger & Pickles aprons, we were all able to "let our hair down" so to speak... We were greeted with a fabulous wine and cheese board, along with a phenomenal Brie baking away for us. We were given a menu of what we would all be cooking and enjoying that evening, pre chosen by our team leader. The menu was well planned, well written and not at all stuffy or overly complicated. Our "Valentines Day Date Night" menu included a wonderful beef tenderloin with a cream sauce, haricots verts with shallots and soufflés we made. So so so good! People work in teams on recipes and it really helps the evening flow. While 2 people are working with Nancy (and sometimes her assistant Brooke), the rest are taking in wine, Brie and observing some new techniques in the kitchen. Once one team is complete, The next team moves on to the next section of the menu. Before you know it, dinner is being played and served. Everything came out so well, it was as if we were dining out at your favorite restaurant. Nancy is able to answer all your questions and explain why things are done one way versus another, or give you ideas and tips on how to increase your own culinary skills at home. I will definitely be bringing friends here for some classes in the future.

"She got muffins for sons, she got cornbread too Sweet rolls…read moreand jelly, boys I'm really tellin' you She had the baker shop boogie It's the nicest thing in town" (Willie Nix) We had a wonderful visit to Bake Market today and walked out with a ton of high-quality stuff for under $39 before tax. Our haul included a big tray of eggplant parmesan ($11.99), a small container of chicken salad ($7.99), a big container of Street Corn Salad ($11.99), a serving of Mango Pineapple Bread ($2.95) and Coconut Zucchini Bread ($2.95), and an Everything Biscuit (just $1.49). Bake Market has refrigerated and freezer cases on the walls with entrees and pastas and sauces and salads and desserts. It reminded me of the Pasta Vita store we used to visit in Avon. We split the chicken salad for lunch on Wednesday and enjoyed it very much, it was heavy on diced chicken and light enough on the diced celery and mayo that it was very hearty and not overrepresented by the rest. We decided to split the Everything Biscuit with lunch and I really liked the texture and savory taste of the everything spice. We split the Street Corn salad for Friday dinner, and it was a big portion of sliced Romaine, diced bacon, sliced radishes, roasted corn, tortilla strips, and grated Cotija cheese. It was very good; the lettuce was super fresh with plenty of bacon and corn. We split the Mango Pineapple Bread for dessert and that was excellent too. It was dense, sweet, full of flavor, and quite wonderful. The Coconut Zucchini Bread was so-so. I didn't think it had much of a flavor, and besides the blandness it was incredibly messy with shredded coconut everywhere. Our Bake Market sampling ended with their Eggplant Parmesan. It was a massive 2-lb tray that cost just $11.99. And how can I NOT mention that containers of fresh pasta AND sauce were included! We made four servings out of it. The eggplant parm was made out of a very thick single slab of breaded/fried unpeeled eggplant, and not the multiple layers of thin slices stacked up lasagna-style you customarily see. It had plenty of sauce and plenty of cheese, but how was the eggplant itself? I gotta tell you, when I saw that thick slab, my radar went up because I had a feeling it would be rubbery, tough, and unappetizing. But my doubts were short-lived after my first bite. It was delicious and tender and full of flavor without a hint of grease. Honestly, it was one of the best representations of eggplant I've had in a while. So, there you have it, a nearly perfect score on a variety of foods, and a very satisfactory $39 haul that scored high on quality and value.

I didn't know what to expect, but it was delicious -- the perfect mesh of flaky and doughy textures with the slight warmth was divine. I also saw they had pistachio matcha lattes so I decided to try one. It was surprisingly pretty tasty despite the color not being a very deep green. They also offer several samples, which I was excited about, but I was disappointed because they were all salty -- even the zucchini bread that I expected to be more neutral/sweet. The bagels were also very flat. Maybe their sweets just happen to be better?

It's in the Old Wethersfield part of time, and if you haven't been there, its definitely a sweet place to park your car, go for a stroll, and check out the shops on (you guessed it,) Main Street. Main Street Creamery is a blue building with a few indoor tables and outdoor seating. We saw big trays of cookies, brownies and macarons on their counters, but of course the real star of a place with "Creamery" in their name is their ice cream, and they sure knock ice cream out of the park. Hard ice cream, frozen yogurts, sorbet, sherbet, Milk Shakes, Malts, Ice Cream Floats, Razzles, and Sherbet Coolers are on the menu. Want to bling out your ice cream with some extras? How about over 20 toppings to pile onto your dish? Among their over 50 hard ice cream flavors are some intriguing ones and some clever names, like Nerds Explosion, Espresso Ripple Bean, Coconut Candy Bar, InstaGRAHAM, Apple Caramel Crumb, Pumpkin Gingersnap, and three Peanut Butter based flavors - PB Nightmare, PB Dream, and PB Oreo. Ice cream cups range from $5 to $8, and we both went with a small for $6. Even though they were advertised to include one scoop, our friendly young scooper gladly offered to include two flavors in each small cup, and between you and me, it sure seemed like she exceeded that "one scoop" limit. Our four flavors included Coconut Candy Bar, PB Dream, White Russian, and Black Raspberry Oreo. Our first impressions were that #1 the ice cream was very smooth and creamy, with zero traces of ice crystals, #2 the flavors were fantastic, and #3 we were spooning up some of the very best ice cream we've had in a while. We were very glad we finally checked out Main Street Creamery. Sitting on a bench on a beautiful summer day in a scenic small-town street, while eating some great ice cream was one of the real seasonal pleasures of life. Go check it out and enjoy. PRO TIPS Cash or Venmo only, no credit cards. There is an ATM on site. Don't overlook their freezer with Pup Cups, pints, and ice cream pies
