A cute country shop with a quaint homey feel to it. There were many knick knacks and craft items. They had a nice sized candy section. There are random toys like a teeth chattering one that my toddler liked. There are candles and spices. We bought an item; painted wood of the American flag for our living room. The prices were decent. We spent a little more on the wooden board because it was handmade by a local artist and we love to support small businesses. Overall, a nice store and you can find many gift items here too. read more

Old Wethersfield Country Store is an adorable must stop if you're visiting the area, particularly if you're from out of town. The store is filled with all kids of local nicknacks. They have local, handmade candles, olive oil, honey, seasonings, soaps, ice cream, candy, tea, etc.. There are toys, town tee-shirts, self serve kombucha, really anything and everything is in this store. It's really fun to browse and notice all the cute and quirky items they sell. The man working here today wasn't at all friendly, he never said a word. I think that depends on the day, on who gets what day. I enjoy coming to this store, their kombucha is delicious, you can mix the flavors since it is self serve. read more

Throw in a big selection of novelties, magic tricks, gourmet foods in cans and jars, health and beauty aids, gallons of flavored oils, a big selection of cheese and cured meats, weird toys (ever want a Crazy Cat Lady action figure?), and nostalgic toys (how about Silly Putty or Gumby and Pokey?) and you get a pretty representative idea of what you'll find all over their shelves and in their show cases. I'm always so pumped when I find new stationary or stickers, and I'm SO happy I found what I did I got Schitt's Creek stickers, a Ron Swanson card, cute napkins, and a butter beer scented candle from Welles House - check them out, they're tagged in the pic above! You can also order custom cheese plates, get some ice cream, cupcakes or chocolates, and different flavored olive oils that you can come back and refill! We ordered two sympathy gift baskets to be delivered to two different family members with different names at two different addresses in two different towns. Each order even had its own independent order number. One was delivered and one was not. The explanation from Natasha was that she thought it was a double order so one was not fulfilled. When questioned how to remedy the situation in the future, Natasha became irate and hung up the phone. We still don't know the status of the second basket because Natasha was too quick to hang up the phone and not hold herself accountable for her errors. Our credit card has been charged $79 but the status of the basket remains unknown. If you choose to shop here, expect the worst customer service you have ever experienced. I ordered a "build your own gift bakest" 2 days before Mothers Day. They delivered the basket to my Moms front door on Mothers Day morning and she absolutely loved it. We sat and waited in the car for an hour, when they said they where opening at 2, which website said 10am, and now it's 3pm and still nothing. We drove an hour to come here and there was no movement. What a fun place. They have a unique variety of high-end groceries, including a lot of local selections. I picked up an amazing cheese from Cato Corner. There are plenty of sweets, breads, sauces, and tons more. The highlight for me was the kombucha on draft, which you can buy in a bottle or growler. I've been following them on Instagram for a bit but I live in Louisiana so I had to wait for a visit to CT to make it in and see for myself all the cool things they post! Things that are super exciting: Kombucha on tap! Huge array of nut and peanut butters! Nora cupcakes! SO MUCH CANDY! Olive oils! They also have take-home meals in a freezer, local breads, and chocolates. I think this is a great little addition to the Old Wethersfield area and definitely fits the vibe. Let me just applaud the owners Megan and John for opening this location. The selection and the different quality items that they offer at the store make it a one-of-a-kind location. My girlfriend and I will stop in here periodically and pick up many of the different things they have, Rosso notorious to grab ourselves a treat.
