I love it here. Everything is a very reasonable price and very cheap and affordable. Whenever my friend gets cucumbers and tomatoes, the time of her ordering and actually receiving it is less than 3 minutes which is very fast. D&D market is not too bright inside which is very nice. read more

Prepare food looks great as well as the pastries, great selection of sausages and deli meats, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their products. Friendly atmosphere read more

Meat quality consistent, staff friendly even at the busiest times, great meat prices!

I had a little free time yesterday and treated myself to a trip to D & D. I browsed in all the departments and bought a little of this, a little of that. The fresh minestrone soup was sensational. I got a small order in the deli, produce and bakery. All the crew is super helpful, patient and efficient. Once I got to work, I ate the soup for lunch. Lucky me. I will try to go back soon and buy a few of the yummy prepared foods. read more

Great food and the meat sales are phenomenally awesome. Not a lot of Italian markets around but this is our place to be close to our heritage!! Excellent staff and great people. read more

I grew up in Wethersfield right around the corner from D & D formerly bliss market. I have been away from Wethersfield for about 14 years and have recently come back this summer and looking to relocate back in the area. I decided to check out the market and was very pleased to see that the same quality of meat and prepared meals has been maintained. The counter staff and the checkout ladies are all so friendly and welcoming, it was so pleasant to feel like I was home again. read more

Place is decent, but feel like it has an identity crisis - the food is like an old school Italian market, while the prices are NYC. Ordered achicken cutlet grinder and was shocked to see the price on the label as $24. The chicken cutlet and bread were good, but lettuce is cheap shredded iceberg and the provolone was so thin I couldn't even taste it. For $24, where's the romaine? read more

This quintessential Italian deii/grocery/bakery gets better all the time. Originally in the heart of Hartford's Little Italy, they mover seven years ago to Wolcott Hill Rd, Wethersfield. The crew has been the same for many years, and boy can they cook! There are three or four cases with deli, prepared foods, fresh meat, fresh made soup (two flavors) and tons of store shelves with imported foods. The produce department looks like a gourmet magazine photo shoot - bright colors, neatly arranged, lots of barrels with bulk specialty items. I got of there with one filled shopping bag, busting at the seams! Try it you'll love it Store hrs Su - Sa 8:30 to 7 read more

The old Bliss Market is now home to D&D Market and although the name is different the experience one gets while walking through the aisles remains the same. This location of D&D is their second location and a lot of what you might find in their Hartford location can also be found here. If you are looking for fresh pasta and other Italian specialties, this is the place to be. As with it's former owners, D&D continues to have an excellent meat counter with not only steaks and chicken but a wonderful selection of sweet and hot flavored pork and chicken sausages as well pre-made beef patties. On the day I went I was able to pick up ground white meat chicken and chuck which made some wonderful burgers later in the day. I also picked up several sides - coleslaw, a pasta salad, a vegetable salad and some pre-grilled vegetables - which paired wonderfully with our burgers. And lest I forget dessert - they sell cupcakes from Nora and Italian pastries - and a few of those were picked up as well. I could also see my self coming back during the week when I did not feel like cooking as the pre-cooked chicken cutlets, lasagna and sausage pasta looked very tasty In addition D&D has a well stocked deli, a small produce section and a good selection of non-perishable food items. The prices on some items are a bit high but for a local market with tasty food just down the street from me - I will dig a little deeper in my wallet to come here. read more

Very, very disappointed. We ordered a deli platter for Christmas. We waited over an hour for it, as it was not ready. Nothing special at all, VERY skimpy amount of meat and cheese. It was $95 for what looks to be about $40-$50 worth of cold cuts. I would not order anything from here again. read more

Why does this market sell old bread and then get mad if you say it. I have been shopping at D&D since way back when I went with my Grandmother and it was located on Franklin Ave. I guess nothing is like it used to be and it does make me sad as I get older and things are so different even a loaf of Italian bread. read more

Incredible market that cares about the community. Also wonderful prepared foods! Great service/staff.

bought a crown pork roast for Christmas here. have cooked at least 30 such roasts over the 60 years of our marriage using a James Beard recipe (flambe', apricot stuffing, the works !). TOUGH as a board ! Would not normally return such an item, but due to the cost ($50) and my wife's insistence I did so with receipt and 2 inedible/uncuttable ribs from the roast. Danny (owner ??) informed me that he could not issue even a store credit but offered a $25 gift card instead. I declined but was inclined to relate the tale read more

I love D&D and always go there for my meats, especially steaks. I love to shop local and support local families/businesses. This is my go-to place for steaks now! My boyfriend and I have steak about 2 times a month and we are never disappointed with the ones we get from D&D! They have a wide variety of meats, not just steaks. The people are always friendly to me and very helpful. I'll always go back read more

We ordered a 3lb Centercut beef tenderloin and (our mistake) trusted D&D's reputation and never looked at the cut of meat when we picked it up...for $20/lb if you have to check quality you should be shopping someplace else. On Christmas Eve night we opened the meat to stuff and roll it in advance of cooking it for Christmas dinner. What we found was a fatty End cut of meat not really suitable for stuffing and rolling. With no choice, we made due and did the best we could so as not to ruin Christmas dinner. In frustration we emailed D&D and sent them a picture of the meat expressing our disappointment at not receiving the Centercut we ordered. To our amazement we heard back that what we had was a Centercut. Three opinions from three professional chefs confirm that without a doubt the obvious was correct...we ordered and paid for Centercut and received an unsuitable end cut and when politely asked about this, D&D doubled down and insisted it was a Centercut which only proves one of two things...either D&D doesn't know crap about quality cuts of meat or they are unremarkable liars. Either way, I hope they enjoyed the one hit money they made off of us because when we pay for quality we expect it so we won't be going back and D&D can continue to BS customers and lose them one at a time. read more

D&D Market - Grocery Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

All the same stuff as at their original Franklin Ave location - all the same phenomenal arancini, meatballs, sausage, cutlets, stuffed breads, sauce, pasta, grinders, selection of meats and cheeses, everything that made their name what it is. Some people have stores where they always end up spending far more than they intended. D&D is that for me. I'll walk in telling myself that I'm just going to pick up a few things, and before I know it I've loaded my basket (or, more frequently, cart) with everything from behind the glass that caught my eye. I don't mind. It's money well spent. If I had to recommend just ONE thing from here, it would be the arancini. I've had a lot of that from Italian grocers and restaurants, in the Hartford area and elsewhere, and D&D's still stands out as the best. Fortunately, I don't have to recommend just one thing, so make sure you check out their meatballs and sausage as well, in a grinder, if you like. So glad to see them sticking with it in Wethersfield. They're a fixture and they must remain so. read more

D&D Market - Steaks - Grocery Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

Awesome Italian market! They carry slot of specialty items and also have great cheeses and fresh ricotta.

This market has a mediocre selection of meats and some cheese that they buy from Liuzzi in Hamden. Their selection is poor. They just don't do enough volume to have fresh product. If you want better quality go to Liuzzi in Hamden or Whole Foods. read more

The deli has imported Italian meats and cheeses that you cannot get anywhere else, I cannot get enough of the Soppressato and Mortadella, however, the prepared food section is where D&D really shines, no where else can you even get a eggplant cutlet let alone get one everyday! read more

When you don't want to make your own sauce- buy the D&D sauce. So good I could fool my mother with it. You don't need me to tell you to buy as many chicken cutlets as you can- but you might not know how delicious their tuna salad is! Try it! read more

Stopped in for lunch and ordered a grinder at the deli . These used to be the best when they were on Franklin Avenue. The girl sliced some meat and then proceeded to place it on a scale to weigh it. The grinder had a small portion of meat on it and cost me $9.56 . What a rip off that grinder was the girl had made for me . As I was waiting for the grinder to be made I looked in the case behind me at the prepared foods . All looked old and dried up , very unappetizing. Seems to me that the children took over the business and are not keeping up the quality and effort to run the business as it was in the past. I don't plan on returning ever again, not worth the trip . read more

I have no idea why this place is rated so low. I loved this place when it was Bliss and I love it now that it's D&D. Sure it had some hiccups when it first opened in this location, don't all businesses? Obviously some people don't give the benefit of the doubt! Everyone is always pleasant and cheerful. The butchers know their stuff! How to cook it and for how long. It's sausage heaven here too! All homemade and natural casings. Salads are fresh and yummy...pricy but if you want quality you're going to pay for it! We can walk here and we love doing just that. When this was Bliss my daughter used to be able to buy a single ice cream from the freezer so we hope they continue that tradition here. read more

Got 3lbs.sweet sausage for sauce.I use 1lb in my meatball mix.It was so fatty that it absolutely ruined the meatballs.I've gotten better sausage at big supermarkets! Never again will I buy anything at that market. Also, their so called imported parmesan cheese sucked out loud. read more

A customer since the early 60's living in Wethersfield, and still today, 25 minutes away. When our workplace moved into a 4 story building in Hartford, our staff of 100 relied on "D & D" for our lunch supplies for months, until the building's coffee shop was constructed and opened. Mid morning M - F, someone would drive down to D & D to pick up supplies for the day, and prepare a small buffet for a Daily noontime "Make Your Own Sandwich". It worked great, everything was high quality and fresh, and the initial price was set at $.35. As I recall, since generous portions became the rule, how could you not, $.40 became the standard price for the honor system, which also included 24 hr. coffee @ $.10 cup. Even at that price, the "operation" continued successfully until the building filled, and the coffee shop opened up, leaving only a 24 hr. Coffee Club, required because of the 365 day in house computer operation. read more

My favorite shopping for Italian specialties. From meat to cheeses. Location in Wethersfield is perfect!

I am only reviewing two items: pancetta and guanciale. The pancetta is simply outstanding. It is just right for carbonara, with eggs and in the other things I've used it in. The guanciale is very good but I prefer pancetta. Have not tried anything else so only giving four stars. The pancetta is worth going out of your way for. read more

It is a great place for meats and deli. Produce and grocery sections are small. Italian meats and cheeses are a specialty. Also many varieties of sausage. Heading there today to stock up my freezer for the next few weeks... read more

They earned yet another 1 Star. Too bad 0 stars are not possible. A ton of signs about COVID and how they disinfect the cars continually and between customers. Looks like they might have invented some type of self disinfecting cart and carriage. There was no one cleaning anything at all. You walk into Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, and they are constantly cleaning the carts and carriages. No doubt in those stores. Here, you see the signs but absolutely no one is cleaning anything. Place has potential but lacks leadership. read more

The place is great. I go often and have never had a bad experience with either food or service. They will even help people to the car with groceries, as they have many elderly clients. It is a little expensive but you get what you pay for. When you want the best, you have to pay. I don't mind paying extra for food that is high quality. read more

Honestly the food here isn't My problem. My problem lies in that I have been a customer for 16 years starting in the Hartford market. And when d and d took over began using this location. I brought my five-year-old daughter to buy dinner and cookies after school. Like a normal child, she had to use the bathroom. The store flat out refused to allow her to use their bathrooms. I was told to take her down to Burger King all the way on the Silas Dean and then come back to pick up my food. I have never been to a community market that has not allowed at least patron's children to use the bathroom. I probably spend over $2000 a year here. I will never return, so much for caring about the customers and their families... read more

I've been here in the past and called to get a small antipasto platter for pick up the next day. The lady who answered the phone said "too late!" And hung up on me. Are they serious ?
