I heard the Cheese Pupusa calling my name. Haven't had one in years. Tita's Place had recently popped up on my Yelp page as a newly opened, small business not too far away from me. They have been open for about 6 months. I simply couldn't resist. I loved my pupusa, a buttery cheese-filled delicacy, especially when the cheese overflows and becomes crusty fried cheese. It all starts with a very nice, homemade corn masa that is not too thick, very tender and delicious! The curtido, intended to be eaten with your pupusa, is irresistable. You will get several cups of this crunchy, pickled, cabbage slaw that is seasoned with oregano. I got giddy when it arrived in a huge plastic jar. It comes with a set of tongs for serving yourself. Confession: I could have easily eaten the whole jar full myself and felt no guilt. Pork tamale Salvadoreño. It's my other weakness. The masa is very moist and tender, almost pudding-like, as compared to its denser Mexican cousin. Theirs has a delicate chicken broth flavor to it which I loved. The pork filling was freshly cooked, very pleasantly seasoned, and included some potato. I know, not exactly carbs free... so eat a ton of cortido first!Definitely recommended. The only disappointment was the Bistek Encebollado, one of the more expensive items on their short menu. The steak was tough and dry. The sauce (tomato, bell pepper, onion), on the other hand, was good. The beans and rice were ok. This little business is family owned, manned and passed down through multiple generations, and has been cooking up a storm for at least 25 years. A newspaper article dated from 2000 was posted on their wall and did a very nice, whole page review of their first restaurant in Riverside. Our sweet, young server was the great granddaughter of the founder. She was great and proudly pointed out all the family members depicted in two murals on their walls. Right next door is a Mexican taco restaurant. Don't confuse the two. Totally different cuisine. If you have read this far, yes. Please give them a try. This place delivers good, home cooking, very reasonable prices, and friendly service.

Great food, welcoming environment and staff are friendly. This is my first time here and I would definitely come back.

Absolutely delicious! This was our first time here, and we'll definitely be back. We ordered five customized pupusas ahead of time over the phone: two revueltas, one cheese and jalapeño, one cheese and chicken with added jalapeños, and another revuelta with added jalapeños. Every single pupusa came out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. One thing that really stood out was the service. When we called to place our order, they asked if we planned to dine in. We said yes, and when we arrived, we simply paid and were served in less than five minutes. It made our lunch break so much easier and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. I highly recommend ordering ahead over the phone if you're on a schedule. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of seating available. The portion sizes were great too. We each had more than enough with two pupusas, but we wanted to try the cheese and chicken combination, and we're glad we did! To top it all off, our total for five customized pupusas was under $30, including a 15% tip, which is an amazing value for the quality and quantity of food. Great food, great service, and great prices I highly recommend this place!

Everything was really good, we got pupusas de revueltas, de queso, frijol y queso, pollo y queso & pollo flautas. Even the curtido / tomato sauce's were very flavorful... Looking forward to our next visit

Such a great new family-owned spot! You can truly taste the freshness and care that goes into the food. Everything we tried was delicious, but the pupusa bombs are absolutely to die for; definitely a must-try! You really get that welcoming, family-owned feel, personal, kind, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. We will definitely be returning and are excited to support this local family-owned business!

Desayuno y Pupusas: Revuelta, chicharrón con queso y queso con loroco.

Tita and her family are incredibly welcoming, and the ambiance feels like you're right at home. The pupusas are absolutely delicious, and it's definitely a must-try!

Instead of trying to find out HOW meat got into my bean and cheese pupusa, she chose to be sarcastic and defensive about my experience without taking any accountability. She also said that their prices are "a little up there" and "are not meant for everyone" even though no one mentioned they had high prices. So she just went out of her way to...what? Call me poor? Weird. Please stop telling people that your cheese and beans are vegan; they are not. And it's not even always vegetarian either because I 100% got meat in mine and if you say you don't use ground meat in your pupusas, then I am even MORE concerned about what was in mine if it wasn't that. No wonder it upset my stomach all day! What the heck kind of meat was that?! You are clearly not a doctor so please don't try to tell me to go to the ER for an upset stomach. When vegetarians (and vegans) consume meat, we end up with a bad upset stomach - often for a full 24 hours or longer. It's like food poisoning to us. And I got it from your pupusas. She says: "We never said we are vegetarian connoisseurs." LOL lady, you're not even pupusa connoisseurs! I do agree with her on one thing though: Las Ploras pupusas "are not meant for everyone". I would keep that in mind the next time you're looking for good pupusas.

They have a surcharge for credit card so we paid cash but still came out to over $30 for one Pupusa Loca and an horchata. The cashier explained the Pupusa Loca was a lot more bc it included all the meats, including shrimp. Of course, NO SHRIMP inside. Nada. Not even an errant shrimp tail to be found. Just a glorified quesadilla tbh. More cheese than anything else inside. Though the shell was crisp and delicious, it wasn't worth $20-25 for fried masa. More insulting was they went out of their way to ask if we'd like our horchata now or when the pupusa was ready. I opted for now. No other customers around but us and our baby waiting without shade in the summer heat. My bro politely waited for them before asking if we could get our drink now. Then they hand us two horchatas by mistake and snatch the extra away instead of just giving it to us for waiting with our baby who is yelling, "Cha cha, cha chaaa!!" Cold blooded. The horchata was one of the worst I've ever had. Just sugar water. No cinnamon, no rice, no love. Pretty much sums up what they are about.
