Casa Mota has an authentic taste of what real Mexican food should be , we order the albóndigas soup and the pozole and I will say the taste took me back to my childhood when my mother used to to make it. The service was on point and as a Mexican restaurant they surely start you off with the chips and salsa. Drinks are your Jamaica and ice tea and more , the parking on weekdays is very open but weekends may be a little tight but it's worth the wait ! Casa Mota is a great option if you're looking for seafood or craving Mexican food. The restaurant offers lots of tables and booths to sit at. It is a little bit dated and the bathroom could use some fixing but the friendly service and great food is what keeps us coming back. My personal favorite is the mojarra plate. It is well seasoned and always a good portion size. We also tried the carne asada burrito this past time we went but it wasn't the best burrito we've had. This is my go to place for carne asada fries! The restaurant is in a small shopping plaza and is right in the corner. Parking can be limited but there is usually a spot available. The restaurant feels homey and staff are always friendly. The restaurant has a decently big space for dining and their menu is big. I usually place a phone order for my carne asada fries and it usually done quickly (8-15 minutes). Fries are thick and they add plenty of toppings. The plate is usually a big portion. Plenty to go around and can be shared! It's at a fair price for $20. So worth it! read more

I came here for lunch one day based off a friends recommendation of their Menudo. My fiance is a Menudo expert and loved their Menudo with a side of pata. I tried it and it had great flavor with the perfect amount of spice. I had ordered the enchiladas and they were delicious as well. Their micheladas are on point and everything was reasonably priced. Their service was great and our waitress always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed including refills. It's clean inside with TV's playing different channels. Went in today.. service was sub par. No one was in the restaurant and we were left to just guess when anyone was coming back to check on anything we needed. Food isn't great but ok. Then we sat for 20 minutes waiting for a box and maybe a check while the staff gossips in the back. Got our boxes and check, again waited at the front desk for 10 to15 minutes waiting for someone to take my money. We just came down here from Woodcrest because there's not many places to eat up there to try this restaurant that we heard was excellent. If you want a Chili Relleno that might give you a heart attack with the amount of cheese inside of it. This is the place for you. Chips were not fresh old and hard the plate of food came out within five minutes of ordering it like it was all pre-prepped so nothing fresh made to order, nothing authentic about the beans and rice chili Verde tasted like it came out of a can if you want a good place to eat go to tempo del Sol on University. We've gone several times and taken family that have not been there. They all liked the entrees that they ordered. The food is very good. Staff has been very friendly and gone out of their way to help with my 92 yr old Dad. Our food has come in a timely manner. A course timing is different when you go during lunch or dinner time which is understandable. We have not had any problem with service. Great menudo and the cáldo de res was a 4 out of 5. I feel like it didn't have much flavor I had to add salt and salsa to make it work. My husband got menudo that was pretty good I tasted the caldo it was pretty tasty. Micheladas were good too. $45 for two it's a good price. read more

Friday, November 12, 2021 4:30 PM. Not from the area but I am today and have some time to kill before an appointment so I yelped this place and the reviews look pretty decent. 3.5 stars. First off this place is super bright on the inside. Ridiculously bright white fluorescent lighting like you are in an office or at a grocery store in the freezer section. way way WAY too bright inside. Stark gray walls. Such terrible room ambience. Food is just OK, very average food. not great. but salsa they bring with the chips is excellent. The music they are playing (all Mexican music ) is ok but seriously way too loud. Yikes I can't even hear myself think it's so damn loud inside here and I'm by myself! Prices aren't too bad. I got a two taco plate with beans and rice and a Pacifico beer. Would I come here again? Possibly. But most likely not. It's not that great. The music is cranked up so loud and I'm sorry but it is just ugly inside here with the super bright white light everywhere. The food it's just OK like I said, it is not fantastic Mexican food. It's just ordinary mex. Not sure if they make the food from scratch. It didn't taste like it. Recently I posted a review for Tio's Tacos in Doentown Riverside and gave them 0 stars but I actually gave them 1. But this place Casa Mota is completely opposite. Tucked in a hole in the wall by Arlington St in Riverside CA, this place has crazy awesome food, a fiery salsa, really good quantity per price, and most all they make you feel like home. Their customer service is brilliant. I was dealing with the owners son but everyone in that little place was awesome with their customer service. And I love it that this operation is a family run place. The dad was cooking in the kitchen and the son was outside managing. We ordered a bunch of food and plates and we were not at all disappointed. We were so happy with their salsa that we took some home and the next day we made some eggs and added to it. They also sell their own michilada mix. Try them guys, they are good. Oh and they are open late. read more
