The place is very spacious and super clean and attractive to host any event ! Tonight's event hosted 250 guests to music cocktails and tasty entree salad and ice cream and cake! The staff was well organized and efficient and friendly! The event went smoothly until one of the guest needed medical attention which came quickly and did not really upset the event there were a few guests that were rubber necking and should have let the EMTS do their work but the Tirrell Room is a good Venue! Aside from the beautiful views with the gazebo outside and huge venue space, the biggest asset they have going here is your personal wedding coordinator Jennifer. With the wedding package they provide, it's basically a one-stop-shop and Jennifer is thankfully there to hold your hand the entire way. From the specific napkin fold that I desired, to table linen colors, to the room layout, she made sure everything I needed/wanted was perfect and within my budget. I couldn't imagine doing this within my budget without their seamless package options and checklists that get you set to start even the smallest details from 12+ months away up until the very day of your wedding. The event itself was also flawless. The waitstaff and bartenders were professional, my place settings were laid out perfectly, my bridal party's waitstaff made sure our drinks were full and we had food to eat. They have a giant ballroom for your event, but my group was a little smaller. They helped balance the space out with elegant dividers so that my wedding space felt right and the room didn't look bare. I held my triplets 16th birthday party 7 yrs ago, and most recently my husband's repass last month. This place is simply amazing, from the staff, to location, to the facility and amenities. I am Roland of Roland Video and Photo and I have covered at least 3 weddings here Tirrell Room, It is a nice place to get married especially if you are getting married around 5 in the afternoon where the sun is just in the horizon. Tirrell in up in a hill and they have 5 to 6 acres of open grounds with a gazebo for a wedding. The building for the reception is just 50 feet from the gazebo and they have a paved walkway between the 2. Lots of parking too. One thing I like as a photographer is that they have a big size room for inside photography at the back. We took a lot of formal shots outside but as it became dark, this photography room became handy and we were able to take more photos of the bridal entourage in this room. Oderves were also served. I remember the mushroom oderves. As they always do weddings in Tirrell Room, the staff knows what to do and they were accommodating enough to brighten the lights for me. As a photographer, the more light I have, the better even if I have some flash guns. All weddings I covered there went smooth. 5 stars for them for the venue and professionalism. read more

I came here for a wedding recently. It was a daytime wedding which was a little different than what i was used to in terms of Chinese weddings. However this is not about the wedding itself, but the establishment. The bartender was an older guy in probably later 40s or early 50s. he was nice enough but didn't really make conversation with the guests. He was still, nontheless cordial and gave you what you asked for. The waitstaff were efficient and removed soiled plates and other items as soon as they were empty. The food - consisted of french toast - with syrup. Sausages. Bacon. Scrambled eggs. Roasted potatoes. Baked ziti. Bread. Mixed fruit salad. Chicken Marsala topped with mushroom. Everything was pretty much ok except: Scrambled eggs. how do you screw this up? the eggs were chunks. They seem to what was completed overcooked and sat on top of the stove. It was stiff, like a block of cheese and the color was near green. To scramble it, the staff forked it through with a spatula and serving spoon. Baked ziti - completely overcooked and did not taste good at all. Chicken Marsala - maybe it was me but it was cold when i got the piece. I didn't get to ask others. Taste was flavorful at least. Sausages - previously frozen and didn't cook thoroughly? It was terrible. The ends were completely burned. I definitely wouldn't come back here to do any sort of food related parties, etc. read more

Just had my wedding here a couple weeks ago and it was AMAZING! Everything came together perfect. The food was so good that I'm trying to figure out how I can order a to-go plate. The sirloin tips melt in your mouth and the scallops wrapped in bacon were BOMB!! This place would've received 5 stars BUT...I had a 4 tier cake and they only served my middle 2. I know this because I had different flavors and they only served 1. Also, during the ceremony, while the pastor was speaking, the microphone kept going out. But overall, I couldn't have asked for a better day. P.S. I'll change it to 5 if they send me the sirloin tips and scallops. Lol...don't judge me. read more

My daughter's wedding was this past weekend. What a great space for any occasion! The views are breathtaking, the service is 10/10. Bartenders, waitstaff and recommended vendors were great! Amy Barrett is the perfect wedding coordinator! She makes everything happen exactly as the couple desires. Right down to the very last detail. She makes suggestions, answers questions, is highly responsive throughout the whole process. She makes you feel like your wedding is the only event she is planning, which is far from the truth. She treats everyone like family. Attitude is everything and Amy will make everyone feel special and excited for their wedding day! I attended a wedding here a couple of weekends ago. The drinks were flowing and the food was delicious. They served a plated dinner, and we had the stuffed chicken and pumpkin ravioli. The reception began at 5 pm in March, so there was a beautiful sunset over the property as we were eating dinner. My husband and I made sure to step outside and snap a photo. The only downside of this venue was that there was no separate cocktail hour area, so everyone just sat at their assigned tables during the cocktail hour and didn't really mingle. If you're looking for a venue near Boston, this would be a nice choice! read more

I was here for a wedding recently and I was extremely disappointed with the performance of some staff members. The biggest problem I had that night was the waitstaffs there. A member of my party is gluten free. Yet, even after telling our waitstaff multiple times about it, she still managed to serve a dish which had rice mixed with orzo!! My friend confronted the waitstaff about it and requested a different plate of food, and the waitstaff insisted that it was indeed gluten free until my friend pointed out the orzo in the rice. I think you should at least know what food you are serving so you don't accidently kill anyone. Had my friend not been able to catch that, she would have most definitely had an allergic reaction. Got married here a couple weeks ago and couldn't recommend it more. We are so grateful to have found this place -- beautiful outdoor space overlooking the Blue Hills for the ceremony and cocktail hour and a huge room inside with 2 bars and a big dance floor for the reception. Our family and friends had a blast, which was the most important thing to us. They couldn't stop raving about how great the food was and how friendly and professional the staff were. We worked with Jen throughout the entire process and she was INCREDIBLE -- so warm and friendly and always had an upbeat and flexible attitude when responding to any question we had, and extremely organized. She kept us on track through the every step of the whole planning process, right through the entire wedding itself where she made sure everything stayed on track with the timing and that all of our guests were comfortable. Worst experience of my life, and I felt the representative was Homophobic too!!! My Fiancé who is a female and I (female) had a 1PM appointment to see the grounds today 8/20/12, we were very excited because it was the first place we chose to view for our wedding/reception. The excitement went from 100 to 0 from the minute we met Marianne. She had a cut throat attitude and quickly took us around the grounds, gave us the paperwork and shoved us out the door. The entire appointment took 10min with no real explanations about anything. We felt rushed and were told if we had questions to call her. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will not give them a penny after the experience we had today. read more

I made an appointment with Jennifer a few days ago to see the Tirrell room at 6:30 PM this Thursday. My fiancé and I showed up, only to be told by confused kitchen staff that she had left. Um...is this place a joke? How can it be possible that this person, whose job it is to usher in hopeful, engaged couples to her facility with the intent of selling them a multi-thousand dollar wedding package, would FLAKE OUT on an appointment? I was furious. I AM furious. I was so incredibly upset and offended that I was in tears after we left. I did NOT take this out on Dennis, the kitchen manager. He came to greet us at the door. He informed us that he had just spoken to Jennifer and she said that she "didn't have any appointments", but he was happy to show us around. He did his best to answer our questions. He was great. He was apologetic. He was helpful. But, excuse me? Her only response to him in this situation is that she "didn't have any appointments"? Am I sure that I scheduled the appointment for this particular day and time? Yes. I am absolutely POSITIVE I scheduled the appointment for this particular day and time. I spoke to Marianne, who told me that the only day they did after hours appointments was Thursday. I then spoke to Jennifer, who told me that she had an appointment with another couple at 5:30, but she would be happy to meet with me at 6:30. But even if there was some miscommunication between Jennifer and I, even if I HAD been the one to make a mistake, she did not have the decency to communicate to Dennis that she would be happy to reschedule with us. She did not have the decency to call me afterwards to apologize and offer a possible make-up session. She, up to this moment in time, has not reached out to me whatsoever, in any capacity. Jennifer, you really messed up. Not only did I come away from this experience feeling annoyed and like I had wasted my time, I felt insulted and hurt. This should have been a special experience, but it turned into a gigantic, insulting letdown. We could have booked our WEDDING at your facility. You blew it, big time. We got so many complements from staff about how I looked beautiful and how our daughter was so cute walking down the isle with her cousins...anything we needed it was done right away...the whole day went seamlessly...All of our guests are still talking about it...it was just so much fun! read more

My friend had her wedding here, and as a venue, the Tirrell Room was excellent. The ceremony was outside on the lawn, and the inside was a beautiful banquet area with two bars. The only snafu was that the bars charged guests for alcohol even though the bride and groom had paid for open bar, and when their error was pointed out, they didn't go out of their way to refund people's money. But they did switch to open bar for the rest of the night. The food was good, the bathrooms were pretty and clean -- definitely a nice spot for an event. read more

We just held our director's retirement party here. From the day we booked our event Marianne was extremely helpful. The day of our event Jennifer was there to great us and accommodate all our requests and even some last moment requests. Dennis prepared our meal, even accommodating a request for a Kosher meal. All in all I wish I could come up with another event to haver here just because we had great time. read more

There are simply no words to explain how amazingly wonderful my wedding was at The Tirrell Room. Thinking about how much Amy helped us plan our wedding in such uncertain times and made it as perfect as it turned out to be brings tears to my eyes. I want to do my wedding all over again to relive just how wonderful it was and to keep hanging out with Amy. It is such a beautiful venue, both inside and outside, and our coordinator Amy made the wedding planning experience so much fun. My original wedding date was 5/30 and as we got closer and closer to the date during COVID, Amy kept working with us to keep us calm and updating us on our options. When Aug 8 became available after a cancellation, we hopped on it, hoping for the best given the situation. We did not want to postpone our wedding until 2021, and the Tirrell Room stuck by us, offering to help in any way they could. When our rehearsal dinner venue cancelled three weeks before our wedding because of COVID, we talked to Amy about potentially hosting the dinner there and she not only made it happen but she made the outdoor space look different than the wedding day despite using the same outdoor tents and tables. I love Amy so much; she is absolutely the best. We managed to pull off a beautiful wedding all outside in the massive, gorgeous patio and field, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner while abiding by state and federal regulations. To top off such a beautiful day, it has been three weeks since our wedding and we can confirm it was a COVID-free wedding! All the guests raved about how fun and beautiful the wedding was and how great the venue staff treated them. Amy went around asking people if they were having a good time or if they needed anything, such amazing service. I have no idea how she did it because she was constantly checking in on me and my new hubby during the night at the perfect level of not being annoying. I honestly can't say enough about everyone at the Tirrell Room, between the beautiful venue, amazing staff, and very reasonable prices and flexibility to make the wedding uniquely mine, it was the perfect place to get married. read more

My son and daughter-in-law got married at the Tirrell Room last Saturday evening. The venue was beautiful, the food top notch!! The serving staff was professional. The drinks were good. The outdoor area for the ceremony was perfect. The dance floor was terrific and well used by dancers all evening. Nancy in the coat area was a pleasure to talk to. There was very easy parking. I went to the Tirrell Room one year for a company Christmas party. So when I was looking for a place for my daughters sweet 16 party kismet took over. While at a friends wedding (not here) my friend mentioned Jen was there. Her family owns the Tirrell Room. LIGHT BULB!! So after talking to her at the wedding (tacky I know!!) I contacted her during the week. Jen bent over backwards to make my daughters party perfect. She even made it so the linens match my daughters dress! She helped me with every step (I've never done anything like this before) and never made me feel like I was a bother. Thanks to her it was wonderful! We held our wedding reception here a couple weeks ago. It was the right price for a large Irish Catholic wedding and the space was nice, the dance floor large and the sunsets are unbelievable. We did the "all-inclusive package" which I am not sure I would have done had I known better. I still had to do all the leg work of picking vendors and didn't feel as though I couldn't have gotten a better deal with the vendors doing it myself. I think it would be a good deal for a smaller wedding. The all inclusive is 40pp (on top of dinner prices pp), so no matter how many people you have 100, 200 or 300, the price is the same, I feel with a bigger wedding there should be a price adjustment since there is only one limo, same amount of bouquets and one DJ. I understand there are more center pieces and more invites but doesn't add up to the extra thousands. And for the all inclusive flowers, it only includes the most basic, tiniest center pieces...we had to upgrade them to make them look decent. And the ones they show you on the tour are not the size that are offered. I think they could do a better job of communicating with the bride and groom during the planning process, sometimes it felt like we were pulling teeth to get information and you don't get that warm fuzzy feeling. But, that being said, the night of the reception, everything went seamless. It was perfect, the cocktail hour outside was beautiful, the DJ was great and the food was excellent. We did family style and everyone raved about how much food there was and how good it was. I would recommend people looking to save some money and still have a fantastic wedding, to hold it here. It is nice to have two bars, and two sets of bathrooms as well as a private bathroom for the bridal party. (I've been to weddings where the bride has to wait in line to go to the bathroom at her own wedding!). They even allowed us (when we asked ahead of time), to have an extra hour tacked on to the night. We didn't want it to end! Overall, we were extremely pleased to hold our reception here. read more

I called the tirrell room to see if I could rent the gazebo for two hours so I could take my wedding pictures. I talked to Jennifer who called the owner to see if it was okay. I got the call back she said they would be happy to let us use the gazebo for free even though I asked to pay so there wouldn't be any issues. The day of my wedding I'm heading over there to do my pictures but I received a call from my mom that Jennifer came out yelling at them saying they were not allowed there and that she only told me 20 minutes, when that was a complete bullshit of a lie. I was soo fucking pissed! I will never use the tirrell room for any future events and hope other people don't get screwed over by their poorly managed place. read more

I really don't where to start! Jen and Amy are both unbelievably awesome! From the first day that I visited The Tirrell Room to the day of my wedding (a little over a year), they were with me every step of the way to answer any questions and accommodate any requests we had. I spoke mostly with Jen. She was very easy to get ahold of, and like I mentioned, very willing to accommodate anything we needed. She made it clear that our wedding was our day and she wanted everything to be exactly how we wanted it. We did many of the florals, dessert pieces, and other decor items ourself. We were a little worried that no one would be around the morning of the wedding to set them up for us, but Jen set it all up for us!! We dropped everything off the week of and told her how we wanted them displayed and she followed it perfectly! From other brides and vendors I have spoken too, it's not often that you'll come across a venue coordinator who is willing to do things like that. In fact, many of the outside vendors that I used told me that they love weddings at The Tirrell Room because Jen and Amy are so easy to deal with. Another bonus was the food! In my opinion, you don't go to a wedding hoping the food is really good. In most cases, it's decent, but nothing too special. I chose the prime rib and baked stuffed chicken for our wedding and so many of our guests made a point to tell us how good the food was. The hors d'oeuvres were excellent, too! Even the next day when I arrived at the venue to pick up our stuff from the night before, Jen and Amy had put everything neatly together for us. I really cannot say enough great things about this place. We had 296 guests at our wedding and there was plenty of room for dancing, eating, and socializing. The venue is beyond beautiful. The outdoor cocktail area overlooks Blue Hills and the sky turns a gorgeous color during sunset. Unfortunately, my wedding was during a nor'Easter, so we were not able to take advantage of that, but we still had a blast and everyone still had so much fun. I highly, highly recommend The Tirrell Room for any type of function - wedding, showers, parties, ect - you won't once be disappointed or second guessing yourself! read more
