This location has lost my trust. To their credit, they did offer re-diagnostic free of charge after the first expensive misdiagnosis, and when the next attempt to fix my AC failed, they didn't charge me for that either. However, the number of times I kept having to come back to spend 3 to 5 hours at the place in one month is ridiculous. Attitudes were also very unprofessional. I never once received a text or call when my car's work was done; I only found out when I returned and asked them, and they reluctantly told me that the attempt to fix my AC had failed again. The biggest red flag was when at the end of this last visit, I asked the manager Joel for the paperwork of what was done today, and he was reluctant to give it to me. First he claimed that the small paper of hand-written notes was all there was, and let me take a picture of it. Then I noticed it was attached to a computer-printed packet of notes dated today. Joel reluctantly let me take photos of each page, claiming that he couldn't reprint it all for some reason, and that they don't have a scanner available. Joel then tried to convince me to come back in a few weeks, when he'll have a really good mechanic in. This mechanic hasn't worked at the company for three years, but is leaving his current company because it "wasn't for him" and coming back to Tires Plus. I think I'll pass. Now my car is making some small noises that have me paranoid. But no way in h3ll am I going back to this location. read more

Had a 10:00 am appointment to have my brakes inspected. 5 hours later they tell me after several calls from me to check on it, they couldn't lift it up on the hoist cause its too heavy and they just started looking at it. I asked why it takes 5 hours to look at it and they couldn't give me a reason other than saying good question. Told them to have my truck outside and ready to pick up in 15 minutes. After my initial complaint, customer service told me a regional manager would respond within 48 hours and that towing reimbursement might be authorized. To avoid dealing with Jonathan at the Lake St location again, they arranged for me to bring the vehicle to Richfield. I paid $200 out of pocket to have it towed. I received no call confirming it arrived. Just an email hours later with a work order. The next day I still had no update, so I called. The employee who answered said he hadn't been there in a week and things were a mess, but he'd check. He called back saying the tire was ordered, should arrive by noon, and he would call when it was done. No call. I had to call again at 5pm. That's when I spoke with Joel. He told me the vehicle was done and I owed $60. I asked why, since I had just paid for this a few days before, since the tire was under warranty and this entire situation stemmed from Tires Plus' work. Joel immediately became rude, agitated, and combative. He repeatedly cut me off, talked over me, and kept saying it wasn't his fault. I was calm and simply trying to understand what happened. He then claimed the previous Tires Plus rotated my tires and that the damaged tire wasn't one of the newer warranted ones. This had never been communicated to me. When I asked reasonable follow-up questions, he became more hostile. Eventually he said, "Fine, since you're accusing me of something shady, I won't charge you, but I'm putting a note on your account and we will never serve you again." I never accused him of anything. This was incredibly rude, demeaning, and completely unprofessional. When I picked up the vehicle with my (male) spouse, Joel's demeanor noticeably changed and he was suddenly polite. When I asked him to re-explain what he told me on the phone, he could not show anything on the work order supporting his claim. The explanation shifted, and he was unable to clearly justify the charge he had tried to impose. (I have video of this interaction) At this point, the workmanship, communication, and professionalism have all been unacceptable. I've had to repeatedly call for updates, pay $200 for a tow for a problem I didn't create, deal with conflicting explanations, and be spoken to disrespectfully. I should not have to keep chasing them down just to understand what work was done on my vehicle. Now I'm genuinely concerned something is still wrong with my tire. After everything that has happened, I don't feel confident in the quality of the work and I'm honestly afraid to drive the vehicle. I now feel like I need to take it somewhere else and pay again just to have the work inspected to ensure my safety. This entire experience has been chaotic, poorly handled, and frankly alarming when it involves something as critical as tires. Do not recommend. Took my wife's car in for some basic maintenance. The mechanics and salespeople both used fear-based language, a classic scam tactic. We went forward with them attending to the basic maintenance, and they fixed the issues that we brought the car in for. However, when we got the car back, it made a terrible clattering noise that was not there when we brought the car in. The salesman tried to fast-talk us into accepting that the clattering was due to the car's mileage, even though the amount of miles driven did not change from the time we brought the car in to the time we received the "repaired" car. Furthermore, they charged us for a tire alignment that they admitted themselves that they did not perform. The salesman essentially said "eh, it happens" and tried to justify their carelessness by explaining how "when you're on the phone and writing up an itemized receipt at the same time, sometimes you just accidentally add extra items." Snake oil salesmanship; fear-based sales tactics; shady practices including literally sabotaging our car to make us bring it back. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

I took my car in for a new wheel bearing. When I first got there I told them I needed a new wheel bearing. Instead they fixed my brake pads and replaced my tires. After picking up my car my problem was not resolved. They then told me my wheel bearing needed to be fixed a day a later after I had already told them it needed to be fixed. They then fixed the wrong wheel bearing and told me the other one needed to be fixed. They will bill you more money because of their incompetence. Don't go there. It's been 4 days and I still don't have my car back. read more

First, they recommended I replace my damaged Continental tire with a Firestone tire that didn't match my set, very poor recommendation for an AWD car. Then I was told tires ship on Memorial Day. Surprised by this, I questioned it twice but they still confirmed so I (mistakenly) believed them. Memorial Day comes, and what do you know-- they don't ship on Memorial Day! When I arrived I was told that there may be no options for my vehicle because the rep who accepted my online schedule which I'd made a week earlier did not in fact confirm they had tires in stock. Thankfully they did so I picked a pair gave them the keys and headed out They finished up the job gave me the keys back and I drove off. I notice a strange petrol smell but thought maybe the tech had oil and gas on him or something. I drove it for a few days oil smell still around. Noticed a strange substance on my front headlight. So I popped the hood. I know next to nothing about cars but noticed my oil cap was no on. As I saw I know 0 about cars and never open my hood. These geniuses removed the oil cap, I don't know why. Have been using this store for decades and always thought they were ok. Have bought many sets of tires there and had them rotated every other oil change per their and the manufacturers guidelines, so I thought. Just after my last service the front tires were turned and I noticed the tread was worn down quite a bit and the back tires were like new, this would have been the third time they should have been rotated about 28000 miles or so. I went back to the store, the guy measured all the tires and said they don't rotate them when they measure that close. He said they had recommended alignments this time and in the past and refused to rotate them. I have never paid attention to this because I trusted they were doing it, it says on the receipt they did and no one has ever said they didn't. I'm done with them. I ordered a winter tire/rim set online (Tire Rack). I self-installed, and it didn't go well -- the wheels were grinding against something metal. As soon as I heard grinding and it felt beyond my expertise, I called the Southdale/Richfield Tires Plus, and they have been so helpful ever since. They diagnosed the problem for only $10, got my summer wheels back on, and repeatedly assisted me with customer service for the online retailer in getting the whole matter sorted out. (The rims provided by the online retailer were slightly too small, despite supposedly being matched for my car.) In the end, Tires Plus ended up finding rims that fit perfectly, and remounting my online-purchased tires. The rims were almost exactly the same price, and the price for remounting was very fair. They were so helpful and friendly through the whole thing. It felt like such a newby disaster, and I really appreciated their help. read more

I brought my car in to get my back tires patched up. The front desk lady was very forward, which was a little off putting at first. The wait was an hour and a half, so I had my friend pick up to go out to eat. I got a call from an employee saying they looked at my car and my front axle is bad and there is a leak somewhere. I asked how much it would be to fix, he said close to $800.00. I did not have the money for that, so I said I'll get back to him. He insisted it needs to happen and soon, I called my car guy that I go to for everything and anything that has been wrong with my car, my mom has gone to him for 18 years. I went into his shop, he looked at my car called me back and showed me that there is nothing wrong with my axel and there is no leak. If it weren't for Goerge at Master Automotive Tire & Lube in Bloomington. I would be in debt of $800.00, it is very disappointing how employees are scamming people to get more money in their pocket. The problem is, I JUST had them replaced 24,000 miles ago.....at another Tires Plus. And the warranty expired of course. The sales guy tried telling me due to MN winters this is normal. I left not having my brkes repaired. I then took my car back to the location I usually go to and who had done the brake repair. They said a caliper was frozen and needed to be replaced. Came in with a coupon $99.99 per axle to get new brakes ! Cool , great price . Get my tires off tell me well you can wait you don't really need breaks now. And my dumb ass no go and change them . I feel like they need to be changed. Walk out spending $752 so $200 for breaks And I guess $500 for the rotors. Why would I need new rotors if I technically didn't even need new breaks yet. Then they tell me my brake light is on and they have to figure out how to shut it off . Because no it was not on when I came in . Oh the sensor for your brake fluid broke when we emptied the brake fluid . Oh okay . Well over night the part and fix it tomorrow Well how is the brake light off is the sensor in there is broken ?!?! The vehicle I drive had the tire pressure light come on this morning during my drive to work. I went to tires plus on my meal break at work in the late afternoon. Was told they would need to keep my vehicle for several hours. When I walked out the door an older lady who wasn't there when I arrived had pulled up alongside the garage and was getting her tires checked no problem. I wasn't upset too much until that point but questioned why it would be such a hassle for them when it takes 5-10 minutes. Discriminatory treatment from the staff. Nice.
