This place gave me the run around. They did work on my car that wasn't approved causing damage to my vehicle. After the damage was caused I had no choice to repair it resulting in a very large bill. They tried to place the blame on me. Someone who knows nothing about cars! Again, no estimate was given, no warning that there was a possibility that damage could occur and no accountability for their actions. The staff at Bobby and Steve's today went above and beyond. My tire blew on the freeway so I quickly exited and ended up at Bobby and Steve's. Though unexpected, I was provided top notch service. I was assisted in trying to refill the tire. The car mechanic felt around the tire and knew instantly that something was off. With a full garage of cars, he insisted on helping get a spare on the car. Two guys went and beyond to ensure I left in a safe manner with a spare tire intact. They were a huge help today! Absolute trash service, my insurance company submitted a claim for Roadside Assistance at 1:45 PM, I had to call back after an hour (2:45pm) and talk to incompetent staff (One of them in training) telling me that they had not received the request. My insurance company followed up and confirmed that they did have a request, they just didn't know how to check it. Then I called back Bobby and Steve and Tammy told me that the tow truck would still get there within an hour, pushing their two hour limit. I asked them to give me a 10 minute heads up because it's currently 12°, wind chills at 5°. When it was only 10 minutes away from the two hour limit, I called them and Tammy confirmed that I could go out and wait because the dispatched tow truck was only 10 minutes away. (they were literally waiting until the last minute) I run out there and after waiting 30 minutes in the cold, I called back and spoke to another person who hung up on me due to my frustration. I asked them where was the tow truck, it was already 20 minutes past the time that Tammy had promised. The person on the phone responded that they were only one minute past their two hour limit, which was not true. I called back again (3:52pm and 4:10pm) and this time I speak with the shift lead, Jenny, who explains to me that actually my original tow truck got rerouted due to their poor planning and another tow truck was on its way to me. It is right now 4:15 PM, I have been waiting out in the cold for 45 minutes, and I have missed the deadline to get my car in to the dealership by 4pm and so I will not be able to get a rental. Can you believe this crap? The guy gets here at 4:20pm, a whopping 2 hours and 35 minutes after my initial call. Wow. Absolute trash service, I would never recommend them to anyone. I am going to file a complaint and dispute to my insurance company to not work with this company ever again. I will caution anyone who uses Roadside Assistance if they are given this company as the tow truck dispatch service. If I ever get this company as my Roadside Assistance again, I will make sure to have my insurance or my credit card change it to another provider. I used roadside assistance with another provider (Luther's Total Transport) and they were here in 15 minutes. Bobby & Steve's two hour window is trash. read more

Wow what a great experience. Just had rear main seal replaced and firestone just down the street quoted almost 1700 with tax and Bobby and Steve's quoted 1400 with tax and oil change. What a huge difference in price and they are just a few Blocks apart. Firestone is clearly over charging on the labor hours as it should be in most any manual of labor hours. That said, Firestone caressed my wife when she tried to pick the car up and was not going to get the work done they tried everything they could to scare her into staying there and doing the job for the 1700. What a shame! Bobby and Steve's rocks! The service was great the entire staff was friendly, and we got free water and a full service car wash for free! Keep in mind we never stated what Firestone quoted I till Bobby.and Steve's gave us the 1300 quote. So that was their first stage at it! What a great and honey place!!! read more

I was running out of gas when this gasoline oasis appeared at the top of the exit. As I was gliding toward the pump, i almost hit someone, but he was very cool about almost getting nicked and even joked about it (thankfully). Then when I was filling up, the pump suddenly started broadcasting the PGA match on NBC. I'd never seen a TV in a pump before, so I was mightily impressed. Don't trust them belong an oil change. I used them because they were close to my previous job and would do free pickup/dropoffs. I caught them in two bold-face lies. First instance, I had them change transmission fluid at 55K rather than recommended 60K. When I hit 60K they told me they checked and it was filthy and needed to be changed right away. I asked them if they forgot to change it and charged me for it anyways when I was in a few months ago. They gave the excuse of 'oh, well maybe it's still churned up from them, but it's probably fine' When I complained to a manager he said that they likely only said it was suggested, he disbelieved me that they said they actually looked. Same thing happened a few years later. I got new tires and had new shocks put on. A few years later they tell me my chocks are factory original and now that they are this many years old and this many miles, really need to be replaced, they tested them and they were starting to show signs of going bac. Asked them how could that be I paid them to install new shocks about 2 years ago! Did they rip me off then and not install them? Their claim then was it was so rusty they just assumed they were original, and the tests aren't always clear cut. Moral of story, they lie to get you to do unnecessary services. I think we are all suspicious this happens a fair amount, but catching them in a pair of lies, never again will I go there. read more

Yesterday 10/27/21 I did synthetic oil change $70, tire rotation $20 Etc, At 7920 France ave Edina . When I reached home I checked my tires and found my tires had not been rotated as I have a cut on my rear right and still it's same place . I called them and then after few minutes the manager I guess told me the mechanic had some confusion with the other mechanic ..... and thought other mechanic did tire rotation. Stopped in this morning at 5:45AM to get gas and a car wash. When I tried to input my car wash code into the machine, it would not accept the code. So, I went into store to request a refund for the charge on my credit card ($13.00). They guy immediately gave me attitude like I was bothering him and said that he didn't know how to do a refund. He asked the other guy if he could do it, and the other gay came over, with the same attitude, and said I would need to wait until 7:00AM for the next shift to come on and then they could do it. The whole time their attitude was like I'd created the problem (I'm being polite - was really FU). No other solutions offered. I left. Who hires these people? RUN!!! Don't walk away, RUN!!! This is a bit long, but if you value your money and time and vehicle, it's worth it. My first experience with this place was when my truck died on 494 just off of the France Ave. exit. They towed it in and called me to tell me my fuel pump had died; I was quoted a price, gave my approval and picked up my "repaired" truck later that afternoon. Later that night, after sober-cabbing some friends home the truck stopped running about 2 miles from my home. It was very late, and 40+ below zero, it was a long walk. I had my truck towed in again to them the next day, Saturday morning (they charged me for that again) only to receive a call that it wasn't the fuel pump, but some wiring TO the fuel pump and to fix THIS problem, it was going to cost half again as much as I'd paid to have the original problem fixed. I argued that I'd already paid to have this fixed and that if they replace a perfectly fine fuel pump, that I shouldn't have to pay TWICE to fix the same problem. Their response was, "well you can come and get your truck." Which I obviously couldn't do...I paid the ransom and got my truck back. About a year and a half later, my SUV started running roughly on my way to work, which was .5 miles from B&S's on France. I rolled into the place, explained my problem, was told it was probably bad gasoline. As I'd filled up there, I explained that if it was bad, it was their bad. They insisted it could be loose corrosion, or almost anything. They said they would diagnose the vehicle and let me know. 2 hours later, I received a call, you guessed it...bad gas. This would involve practically disassembling the vehicle and the price tag was enormous. Fine, as long as it gets fixed before 4:30 as I have an appointment I can't miss. No problem was their answer. Got a call, SUV fixed, mechanic checked it out. I paid by check, started the SUV and whatta ya know...same problem. Plus, none of my old parts were in the vehicle as requested. I had to go, so I called from the road and was told, "Oh, it's probably a clogged catalytic converter, we'll have to swap that out." More money, much, much more. Got to my appointment, apologized for my lateness and told the story. I was referred to Lerum Auto in Richfield by one of the client's I was meeting with who'd had similar experiences with "Robbers and Thieves" as she put it. I took it to Lerum the next day, the actually performed the computer diagnosis, told me my timing belt had slipped a cog, explained all the things they were going to have to do clearly and gave me a price. They did the work, the truck ran smoothly again. I put a stop payment on the check to B&S's, got a call from Bobby threatening to put me in jail, have a mechanic's lien put on my home, and all sorts of other mayhem. I told him what I've just written out, and mentioned that I would report him to whatever media would listen, and whatever agencies I could find; and if he jailed me for my reluctance at being robbed and lied to, I would sue his company. He asked for and received a copy of the receipt from Lerum; called me back and grudgingly told me I could pick up my keys and my canceled check. No, "I'm sorry, my mechanic lied about test driving your car", "sorry we did a crap job", "sorry for shouting abuses at you"...nothing. I've been going to Lerum for years now, I know them and they know me. They've always gone above and beyond, they are unfailingly Honest and Fair, everyone I've referred to them is still going there, and they've saved me money...SAVED me money. read more

One of the best Bobby and Steves. Did good job changing oil on a stop in. Dropped a star as the service guy tried to over charge me for synthetic oil change. Said the system recommends it, and I told him that I just wanted the regular change. We needed to get the mechanic to confirm it was just a standard oil change. Car wash is solid and it's great to see someone come out and pressure washer your tires and tough to clean areas before going into wash. They also give you complimentary dash towel to clean that up while machine does it work on the outside. read more

He was so kind and helpful. He went above and beyond the call of duty getting my Moms car towed to the France Ave location, offered diagnostics & service for my moms car & even a loaner to drive he for the night. Was stranded in Minneapolis yesterday (I live 1+ hr away), after one of my rear wheels locked up. Searched google for a towing company and they came up as one of the closest to where I was at. They were able to get a tow truck over to me in a reasonable time and had a estimate to me about a half hour after getting to the shop. They have a nice waiting room upstairs, and offer free fountain pop while you wait. When I got the estimate, it was nicely broken down into two sections......one showing what I needed to get back on the road, and another with a couple other items that should be done soon, but weren't "needed" immediately. Overall, I was very happy with the service. If I ever have problems in the area again, they will definetly get my service. read more
