I needed to get 2 front tires for my beater. I opted for used tires as I plan to purchase a car soon. When I walked in they had a bit of a line but generally moved quick. When I got to the front the staff were super helpful, they showed me tires and told me price with service included which was fair for what I needed. They asked for my keys and told me I could wait in the seating area. Overall took about 45min, which was actually quick for a walk in, considering how busy it was. 3 people had recommended this place to me so I figured despite the many negative reviews it was worth the chance. I go to college six and a half hours away, while on my spring break I decided to change my tires and my mom recommended this spot to me. They ordered me a set tires and got them put on my car a couple days later. on my way back to college only days later my tire started going flat. apparently the cords in my tire tore and destroyed the rim. THIS WAS A BRAND NEW TIRE. Okay, whatever. We contact tire zoo and ask them for a new tire (they didn't pay for the rim which was $1000 (OEM Audi) if you were wondering) and my poor mom had to drive it all the way to the UP of Michigan just to find out once she got here that it was the incorrect tire size. Now I have to order another tire and wait even longer just to be able to use my car. Throughout this process the people at tire zoo never took responsibility for any of their mistakes and tried to blame me, the mechanics in the UP (all very lovely people), and even worse my own mother. the people here are incompetent scum who deserve to go out of business. I would recommend any other tire shop in Minneapolis over this one. read more

However, if you're on a budget like so many average people, Tire Zoo is great. They have a ton of tires in stock. If you need just one tire, they often have a used one to match your others that are good. They are super quick at getting your new tires installed and super knowledgeable about tires. They sell used tires that can match the size and tire wear of the others on your car or truck so you don't have to buy a whole new set. They also sell new tires and repair tires. I went in about two days ago for my tire. Peter was amazing, friendly welcoming, and the prices were amazing to. I would've gave five stars. However, the young lady that is in the front desk is rude as hell. I asked to come back to have my tire torqued because I wanted to make sure it was on correctly as I had my friend put on the tire because my car was parked at my house. Long story short she was rude telling me I had a wait 100 miles. I told her I already had discussed this with Peter. You can hear her talking under her breath, then I realize that it was her that was going to actually do it, and I was actually amazed and happy to see a woman be able to do things that typically a man with you when I said to her oh you're gonna do it that's awesome you know I don't know how to do any of that stuff and her response was and I quote I don't care and then took off to grab. I guess the appropriate size to continue the torque when she came back in. She had a nasty attitude and I asked her did you really just tell me you don't care and she responded with. I'm so sick and tired of everybody. It's being shocked that I know how to do it because I'm a woman now my response was you should be proud that people are noticing that you're able to do such a thing rather than take offense. Her customer service was a zero her attitude was zero. As a general manager myself, I would've fired her immediately. Customers are the reason why you have a job whether you think the question is offensive you could've been professional about it rather than being defensive. Either way if you go there, avoid this girl I can't call her a woman because she didn't act like one. I do, however, highly recommend speaking to Peter directly and in dealing with him directly because he has respect for the customers that come in and understands that customers are the reason why the business runs. I've been going to this place for 15 years. Never once did I have a negative experience. 3 weeks ago, one of the employees of tire zoo broke the lug nut covers of my hubcaps and I was assured that they would be replaced. Last week I stopped in because I hadn't heard anything, and the owner said that he still has to order them. Today I stopped in, and the owner said they were on order. I simply asked to see that they were actually on order, and he turned into a big jerk. I told him I didn't like the way he was talking to me, went outside, and returned a few moments later to let him know that I was giving him one week to fix this or I would open a small claims case. I got in my car and was about to leave when he exited the building yelling expletives. I rolled down my window and he called me a fat b**** and said that I have nice tits. This is the owner of the store. I told him to back away from my vehicle so he doesn't get hit as I drive away, he then literally threatened my life and said never to come back or he would kill me. I have this all on video. The police were called and there was a report taken. I plan on filing a small claims case tomorrow. Called several different used tire shops and they never had what I needed in stock, they kept telling me to try back later. I called tirezoo and they had exactly what I needed in stock. It is first come first serve so when I got there two days later I wasn't really expecting any luck but they still had several of my size available. They're very accommodating as I had just shown up and didn't make an appointment and set me up with two slightly Used Tires in great condition. They got me in immediately and everything was done very quickly. Very happy with the service there. All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We have a Subaru Outback that need a tire to be replaced because like my children, it decided to go 'rogue' on me. Despite the vehicle is an all-wheel-drive(AWD), this one wheel like to wear out faster than all the others. Now, we have a problem, unless the wheels on your vehicle is relatively new, you have to replace all 4 wheel at the same time because of the AWD system. Don't ask me why both the dealer(like I trust those guys) and 2 different tire people told me this. What they fail to explain is that your replacement tires for AWD system must be within 2-3/32" in depth as your other tires... In short, you need to find a tire that closely match what you currently have. Because majority of my tires are 5/32" in tread (10/32" is considered brand new) and still have some life left(okay, I am just naturally cheap), I decided to go with a used tire(Note: brand new tires is at least $149/each ~ over $500 to replace all 4!). In comes TireZoo... My tire technician(Mike?) at TireZoo was extremely helpful. He found the EXACT name brand that match my tires and it was at 7/32" depth - which is within specs with my other tires. The price for my 'used' tire was $69 with $28 install ~ about $100. Hence I was extremely happy that I didn't have to buy all 4 new tires. Highly recommended for TireZoo for being extremely helpful, quick(took me like a total 20 minutes on finding/mount my tire) and honest on the entire transaction. A must if you have a AWD system vehicle only want to replace only 1 tire. Definitely will come back in the fall to purchase winter tires for my other vehicles. Note: they don't take reservation. This place have racks and racks of used tires - not a good place for small children unless you want to build their immune system. read more

Review update. Since my vehicle is under warranty I took my car to my dealership so I didn't have to pay for my bad sensor. Guess what? They took the tire apart and came and told me that the sensor was laying in the tire. As in not attached to the tire... funny how that can happen after I got my tires replaced. Since the sensor was not bad as tire zoo owner told me it was I had to shell out a diagnostic fee... no way out of it and a few to replace the sensor. What did the dealership say? They told me the people that gave me new tires improperly put the tire on and broke the sensor so I paid 219.00 to my dealership for something tire zoo messed up. It's ok though right just take the receipt to tire zoo and they'll reimburse you the money.... no all I got were excuses "it's he said she said bullshit" one guy said. The owner told me "your dealership broke the sensor". Funny because you told me it was a bad sensor not a broken one before why would my dealership break a bad sensor???. "I've been doing this for 15 years says the owner we've only broken 1 sensor" (I find that hard to believe). Then the owner tells me he told me to come back later and I never did (1 IRS my car I can take it to whomever I see fit, 2 he assured me the sensor was bad even after I said how do you know it's not broken.. so why would I pay them money to fix x something that I can get done under warranty?, 3 he never told me to come back later so he could look at my car as it was already in his garage, he told me he would replace it for me later as he was clearly busy for a reduced fee because he's such a nice owner... if I don't come back genius it's probably because I'm not paying you money to fix a warranty issue. By it wasn't tire zoo broke it and now refuses to reimburse me.. guess that's what small claims is for. I STRONGNLY URGE YOU TO RECONSIDER CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Got a set of foreign tires with skeptical reviews about how many miles they are rated for, cannot locate their quality rating anywhere. Paid 330 dollars only to have magically a tire pressure sensor become unreadable immediately after having the tires replaced. But it's ok because according to tire zoo my brand new cars seniors go bad quickly, oh but they will replace it for me for a fee. I'm not stupid but here I am being talked to like I know nothing about cars. They broke one of my sensors, and are trying to charge me to replace it. All this crap and money for a pair of shitty tires. I could have spent the same amount at my dealership for them not to break a sensor and for quality tires. DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE. read more

I called and asked about a pair of tires (a particular brand, model and size) to match the not-very-worn ties on the rear of our car. I was told two such tires were on hand with ample tread (6-32nds) remaining. I drove about 70 miles to the store and found one tire with good tread and the other near end-of-life (3-32nds); definitely not a pair to match up with mine. I like the idea of recycling but a basic lack of respect for the customer will doom this store. read more

I have been a loyal customer of TireZoo All Season Tire Co. for a year or two, but today they really showed some absolutely terrible service. I called in the morning to request an appointment for later that day to switch some summer tires for some snow tires (which I had previously bought from this place). They said call back at 11. I called back at 11 and talked to them- they said even though they were pretty busy they could definetely take me in at 4:00. I took half the day of work off, drove from Northeast Mpls to Bloomington after collecting my tires from storage to arrive at 4 as promised. When I showed up I was greeted immediately as if they were annoyed that I was even there. The same man who I had talked to twice that day told me they were "way too busy" to do it for me and even implied that I was less important of a customer because i wasnt buying new tires from them and was switching out old ones I bought from them the year before. He was extremely rude and even though I reminded him I did actually call twice to confirm he acted like I was in the wrong and told me to leave and come back another day. He actually even told me I was wrong and that I must have been confused. Not once did he apologize. I understand if you are too busy, but then tell me that on the phone and dont make me waste work hours, driving and money coming to an appointment you can't keep. And treat me the same as you would treat another customer regardless of how much money I would have been shelling out that day. I had given these people my business because I liked that they were usually friendly to me and family oriented. Never again will I come here. **They responded to my complaint by not apologize for their bad behavior, but again blaming the customer without taking any responsibility. read more

I called ahead and got a decent quote on 2 used tires. I went into the store to get them replaced and the sales guy gave me an even better deal than I was originally told. While I was waiting for my service(I think I was there for only 25 min total) I witnessed transactions with 2 other customers at the sales counter. Everyone, including me, left very happy with their service. I know I will be back when I need the other 2 tires replaced. Got my Expedition in today and had 4 nearly new tires installed today for an unbeatable price. Over 200K miles on my beast, didn't want new. Boy, did I ever pick the right tire business! Steve Brown helped me out, he was friendly, appreciative of my business, and I was treated like a customer should be. Don't see this much anymore unfortunately. I highly recommend this shop. I like to stick to the local stores for my business rather than the big names. Keep it local I say if possible. I got in and out in about 45 minutes. Wow. I've been giving this place my business for years. Less than 2 months after i had tire zoo put on 2 brand new tires, i find both tires as flat as pancakes on the coldest day of the winter (so far). Obviously, the tires were not properly fitted to the rim; you can't just throw on new tires. You must, first, make sure to prepare the rim (scrub with a wire brush for instance would be one critical step to ensure a proper fit). It was clear that tire zoo's technician did not mount the tires on the rim properly. I was disappointed, but not yet angry. I attempted to loosen the lug nuts as to remove and transport the flat tires back to tire zoo. Out of the 8 lugnuts (both front tires), 2 lugnuts came loose effortlessly. First, i had 3 (strong) men put everything they could into those tight lugnuts. Noting. Not a budge. I then called tire zoo. I asked for some advice. They instructed me to go buy a metal pipe for leverage of my lug wrench. I go buy a metal plumbing pipe. The strongest of the 3 men (in my opinion) is able to loosen 1. But ONLY one! Then while attempting to loosen more nuts, the iron lug wrench breaks. All of the time, tire zoo refuses to take ANY responsibility for the tightness of the nuts. Note that they are the last to touch those lug nuts. They claim that they follow some manufacturer specifications for tightening lug nuts and yet the 2 that came loose in the beginning, came off effortlessly. So if protocol was followed, how can some be loose and others be humanly impossible to remove? I go in person the next day to show them the lug wrench has split. They said it MUST be a manufacturing defect of the wrench. It was such an insult that he didn't even SLIGHTLY admit that it MAY have been their wrong-doing. One staff asked me if there was a guy with me that they could talk to instead of me and the other guy asked me if I knew what a crowbar was in a voice suggesting I was mentally handicapped (because I'm female perhaps ??). It was such a degrading experience. It's so sad to know that in this day and age you can still find such horrible customer service and that sexist remark: wow. Never again. read more

on 12/20/2013, I took my daughter's car in as she needed new tires. We were sold an "almost brand new" tire. I will grant it deserves ONE star for having lasted a year. My daughter's car started riding rough so we took it to the shop. Keep in mind the auto shop doesn't sell tires. This was yesterday, 1/28/15. We were thinking it was shocks or something. The mechanic said the issue was the tire. The SAME "almost new" tire. He was surprised it lasted this long. Said the tire was over 7 yrs old from what he could tell. It was literally falling apart and was a retread. Of course she lost the receipt but I found the transaction on my bank account for the purchase to verify where we went. I understand tires wear out, get punctured, etc and we did get a year's worth out of it. My complaint? We were sold an "almost new" tire with plenty of tread and instead we received an OLD tire with new tread glued on and the tire didn't wear out as a normal tire would but due to literally falling apart. I was visiting my daughter in Rosemount and her car had a bit of wobble. Her mechanic verified my suspicions that a tire was bad. We called around and found that Tire Zoo had good prices and another mechanic friend of hers had previously recommended them, so we went there. She bought 4 new tires (all wheel drive, and all tires getting worn so we bought all four new) for only a little more than only two tires at the first place we shopped. The installation was quick and everyone we talked to was very friendly and helpful. A couple days later we returned because one tire was losing a little air daily. They fixed the leaking pressure transmitter, and even repaired a piece of chin plastic falling off, for NO CHARGE. That's excellent service. I am surprised at the few low ratings I see here. I've been here several times and have always had an exceptional experience. I bought a set of used tires last winter and popped one not long after. They patched it for free. Today I'm here yet again with a leaky tire and they are going to sell me another used tire at half price. The big black dude at the desk is so happy and never talks down to me (a chick in a tire shop!). My boyfriend also loves this place. I don't understand how anyone can give it one star, you must be difficult in real life. WARNING!!!!DO NOT BUY YOUR TIRES AT TIRE ZOO!!!! I brought a set of OG wire rims to Tire Zoo on Saturday 7/9/16 to purchase and install tires. I was given the wrong size tires. (they were too big) so i called and spoke with Paul and he said to bring them back and he would exchange them for the right size. I went back on Tuesday 7/12/16 and they replaced them with the right size. When they were finished and brought them out to the lobby to me on a dolly i could hear a hissing sound coming from 2 of the wheels . I immediately expressed my concern for the sound to Paul. He took one to the back and checked it out. When he came back he told me the air was leaking from the rim. He told me to call the rim company and tell them i needed a replacement. SO i took the rims and tires home and called the rim co. they ensured me they have never had a complaint before and that inner seal most likely got damaged when the tires were put on. T I thought about it and came to the conclusion that they were right! The first set of tires that were put on never leaked. The problem only occurred after the second set were put on. At this point i called Tire Zoo and spoke with Paul and told him what the rim shop said and that i had no problems with the first set of tires and i was concerned that they damaged the seal. At that point he agreed with me and told me that the damage was unavoidable with those kind of wheels and there was nothing they could do for me. I told him that didn't make any sense since the first set they put on had no issues. I then asked to speak to the manager. After waiting 15 minutes a man named Peter Wilkerson got on the line and identified himself as the manager. he told me he had spoke to Paul and that there was nothing they could do to rectify the problem. I told him that was unacceptable . I He then told me i should have never got those type of wheels anyway because they were ugly and to tell the rim co to replace them. I told him what style of wheel i chose was none of his business and that is was morally wrong to have that company replace something they damaged. Then i asked for his name and if they we a corporation because i wanted to file a complaint. then he laughed at me and said they were corporate.. At that point i told him i wanted to return the tires for a full refund and that i would see him in court. He then laughed again and to me that i wasn't getting a refund and hung up on me. Also when i left with the second set of tires they told me there system was down and could not provide me with an updated receipt and that they would get it to me at a later time. This is by far the worst customer service i have ever encountered. I feel so foolish as i have been a loyal customer and have gave them many referrals. Run, run away from this place. RUDE staff who lie and renege on what one staff member says. Bought 4 tires from them and one 'exploded' less than 1 month after the warranty expired. Not looking for a full free replacement, but am interested as to why the tire blew out on the side. Called. They were rude like I was inconveniencing them. After explaining my situation, they guy on the phone said that they would take a look at it and give me some sort of discount on a replacement as all tires still have more than 90% tread remaining. After a couple of days I was able to get there but and again was "inconveniencing" them by showing up, only to be told that the guy on the phone did not have the authority to make any such arrangement, and if the tire is out of warranty even by 1 day, I am out of luck. They would, however, be happy to sell me a new tire at their regular price, but I'd have to come back as they were too busy. crappy product, crappy service. STAY AWAY! read more
