PADDING, INCOMPETANT or DELIBERATE and a LIE I recently went to Tires Plus on E. Bay Dr. in Largo,Fl. with a specific list of what I wanted fixed. Instead of my request they did a "Complete Vehicle Inspection" that I did not ask for, Padding the bill $49 without turning a wrench. After I decided what to allow them to repair The mechanic or someone disconnected a one bolt of a sway bar link and left it hanging under the vehicle. Was it INCOMPETANCE or DELIBERATE? Either way, deceiving and lying to customers is not an enduring business practice. When I returned to the shop, to get the part reconnected the man behind the counter said it can't be connected because it's broken. That was a BOLD-FACED LIE.I drove home and loosened the other half of the unit. I cleaned it off, greased and remounted it. It was NOT BROKEN. I can't help but wonder , how many customers have been scammed by this crew. read more

Tire going flat: they removed nail, dismounted tire and installed a patch. They did not over torque the lug nuts. This was done while on schedule and I waited. The $22 quoted was what Allison charged and they didn't try to sell me anything else. read more

I have never had a problem at any other tires plus location before. Brought car in for a rear flat at 6:15pm. which was replaced without issue Lisa was great. i was told they would put spare tire away under the van but it was not done. When questioned mechanic asked if I could you bring it back tomorrow because of the late hour and I agreed. Next day I am waiting in lobby a long while and mechanic comes out and says Ma'am something is majorly wrong with your car. The check engine light is flashing and the car is stalling. There is some sort of misfire and I don't recommend driving it. BS I brought the car in fine just a flat tire. Left and took to my mechanic bucking and stalling the whole way. My mechanic asked if someone else looked at the engine. The answer was NO. He said there are greasy finger prints on the engine cover and I wipe everything down when I finish my work. Further investigation revealed that the four bolts holding down my manifold were loosened. Coincidence??? read more

I was going there for years when my husband was alive! I went there on my own to have oil changed and tire rotating because I always trusted them . My car only has 13000 miles so they sent me a picture of my Shock leaking and also tell me I need tires. Told them that Im driving up north and my best friend is a ac Mechanic so he put my car on a lift and said to me there is nothing wrong with your shock and your tiresvare like new. So please be careful there trying to make money off of older people I will never go back there. Just trying to warn people to be aware. Terrible business read more

My car needed the tires rotated and upon calling I was told I could do a drop off for that Saturday and they would get it done within the day. It was completed before the end of the day and there was only a small fee. (I had Bridgestone tires) No other charges, issues or repairs being pushed upon me. They don't keep to appointment times for a 20/30 minute oil change service. I set an appointment for 2pm then come to find out 2 hours later upon return for my car I was told that they didn't have my basic oil filter in stock even though their computers showed they had it. At that point I responded with a displeasure of my service to where the employee decided to walk off in the middle of the conversation to "get my keys so I could leave". But I couldn't do that because they had already dropped the oil and filter from my car. This place needs a redirection in management. And to address customer service values and how inventory control and awareness within the shop is key to running any successful business. read more

I'm so sad to say that I would not recommend this Tires Plus. I brought my car in for new tires I also needed new tires sensors so I figured I would do this at this time as well. Other than being nickeled and dimed that all seemed so far to have gone well. I was called and told I needed a tire alignment. I agreeded. Drive car home and it kept pulling to one side my car has never ever done that prior. So I had to bring it back. After bringing it back I finally had a moment to review my receipt from earlier and realized I was charged a different price for alignment than quoted. I brought it to the managers, Tony, attention and he promptly fixed and apologized. (I mean this is what he supose to do right? Apologize. And fix. After all wouldn't he look like an ass had he not) agian nickeld and dimed!! What has made me decide to not have my car serviced here in the futuere... was the alignment should have been done right the first time. Yes I know things happend but the mechanic did take my car for a test after all was done. So lthere should have been no issues. I'm so annoyed I had to come back sit there for another hour and fifteen mins and was not even offered any discount now or for future visits for my troubles nor did I get an apology for the missed alignment... now mind you Tires Plus has ALWAYS been my go to place when I use to live on the east coast. Their service for that Tires Plus was by far the best. And this is what I expected here. Sadly this is not what I have gotten the past few time I have gone here and always assumed they were having an off day. Now I've purchased a lifetime wheel alignment from them but I truly doubt I will be getting any other service here. Honestly a discount given today would have been a nice jester for my troubles especially with the amount of money I just spent. Waking up to a dead battery is never a pleasant experience but I was impressed with the service I got at Tires Plus. I hate having to get anything done to my car because it often feels like my lack of knowledge is used against me. The staff at this location were nice and I never felt like they were talking down to me (a few of them gave me information during my visit). They didn't have the battery for my car in stock but were able to get it brought over quickly and finished the work ahead of their own estimate. read more

Late on a Saturday evening my tire hit the center median westbound on East Bay Drive in Largo. Chuck, Taylor and Cory were professional and courteous. They replaced the damaged parts. They kept me updated and delivered when promised. Excellent job done. I found my new mechanics. Highly recommend. read more

UPDATE: PS the douchebags at 1000 E Bay Dr Largo, FL 33770 also told me to go to another tire place. Wtf would I go to another tire place and pay $50 more when I have warranty with you guys to get stuff done for free. I mean isn't that why you guys hassle us so kindly to get the warranty only to slap it back to our face? I went to the TiresPlus at 500 S Missouri Ave, Clearwater, FL 33756 and also left them a review. I told the guys at Missouri Ave about my concern and Jose kindly helped me above and beyond. I told him I bought super expensive performance tires with warranty and the guys at the East Bay location can't help me cause they won't make money off of me. Jose helped me out and did what TiresPlus is suppose to do. Don't get me wrong TiresPlus is awesome they just need to fire everyone at the EastBay location or trained them to do better customer service cause now I may not want to be a repeat customer and when it's time to upgrade my tires again I might just go straight to another place for the same performance with warranty tires. Do not ever come to this place. I just saw and heard these guys lie to an innocent lady charging her over a thousand bucks just to replace a rocker arm from her rear tires. Wtf ever guy!!!! Everyone at this location that I dealt with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They gave me a good deal and explained any questions I had. Not only that they completed my work the same day within two hours and called me to pick up my vehicle even though they were closing in 15 minutes. They were very busy but still took the time to make me feel confident in the work being done. I was very impressed and will return the next time I need something done on my vehicle. Let me tell you about this "Tires Plus: Total Car Care". I recently within the last year and a half spent about 4K to get a new car. Now I have been going to this Tires Plus because my old mechanic shut down. I did not know what place to go to and decided to go to tires plus because they had a credit program. At the time I thought that was good because I have a low-medium income. The idea of being able to pay for important car work to get done on the car was a great feeling. I.Was.Wrong. I thought it was a little strange how every single time I go to this Tires Plus most(10-12) of the customers are all "new". How do I know this? Because every time I go I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 4-5 HOURS!!!. I went into tires plus today to get another alternator. I had to get a new alternator because my car was displaying the seatbelt light, check engine, and ABS light. I took my car to Meineke,(great place, nice people, and the mechanics will come out and tell you what is either wrong or right with the car), and they told me from what they were reading on there machine the problem I had was related to my alternator. I was told when I first went in and asked to use the warranty I had for the alternator that they would have to diagnose the problem. When I asked how much that would be they told me I would have to pay 25.00. I was very upset. I then had to wait for 1 whole hour just for my car to get done being diagnosed. Then, after waiting I was told that I was not going crazy and my problem was indeed my alternator. I then had to wait 2 hours for my car to get the new (re manufactured) Alternator in and have the work done. During that time spent waiting I witnessed over 5 people who were told they would each have to spend $300-500 on repairs for there car. Almost all of those people were new to tires plus and talked into paying that money because the tires plus people charged them a fee of $80.00 to get their cars checked over. Then after they all were told the same thing almost (your car needs a alignment, or the head is going). After waiting for my car to get done, I asked for a (VERY SKINNY/UNHEALTHY) man who had worked on my car to test drive it. The man asked 4 times "Why?", but did it anyway. By the time I had got ready to leave and was starting up my car I thought all my problems were solved. INSTEAD, my car would not turn on and stay on. It would almost immediately go right back off. I once again walked back into this "Professional" tires plus and told them what was wrong. After I told them I was told all the parts stores were closed, this tires plus location was closing, and they would have to keep my car for the night until tomorrow-3/22/2015. Now I have no car to drive myself to work, and I have to wait to see about getting the vital necessity's I need for the week, like food. In short, I would only go to this "FABULOUS" Tires Plus if you wanted to pay a ridiculous amount of money, wait for hours on end, enjoy having to pay deep attention to your car once the car has repairs done, or want to have VERY poor craftsmen-ship done on the car or faulty parts installed. I will leave a review for the Meineke I go to so those looking for a REAL auto place to get work on there car done will have a place to go. read more

After researching for 2 weeks, I finally found the best prices on tires at the East Bay Largo Tires Plus. Happy with their numbers, I scheduled an appointment. In the midst, I found out that the customer service exceeded my expectations as well. A lot of mechanics talk to me like I don't know anything about cars (I can't say I blame them by the looks of me), but the technician at Tires Plus realized very quickly that I do understand more than I look like I do. He treated me with respect and kindness where most car shops would try to rush through to the next customer. The store manager was absolutely pleasant as well. A few days after my visit, I still had some questions about what was happening to my car. I spoke with him directly to let him know what was going on, and he had me bring the car back in for a second look. Being a single mom expecting my second child, the safety of my car is of utmost importance right now. The store manager and technician both made sure everything was running smoothly. As it turns out, the work they originally did had been done perfect, but my car still needed some work. They were able to figure out what it needed, and helped me get it all done with as little stress as possible. Tires Plus isn't just about the profits; they truly care about making sure the vehicles they work on are sent out in better condition than they came in. And they definitely do care about your family being safe. I am so glad I chose this location to get my car worked on. I will certainly be returning to them for my future auto care needs. read more

This place is great! My mom started going here and loved their customer service so much that she has been recommending everyone she knows to this place. They are super friendly, and very helpful. The guy that wrote a bad review is nuts. I have been in here multiple times for my car, my boyfriends, and my moms & not one of us has experienced long wait times, or fees to check the car. I would not recommend this Tires Plus for any mechanic work. On my recent visit, I was told that my whole front hub assembly needed replaced & that all (4) tires were bald & one was split. First red flag as I knew my tires weren't bald. Total for all $1,365.00. Very upset & thinking my front end was going to fall, I was afraid to go over any bump. I took my car to my trusted mechanic where I used to live & they told me that my front hub assembly was just fine & my tires didn't need replaced. I was appalled that they would try to scare me into getting work done that wasn't needed. Not any place I would recommend to my family or friends!!! read more

So here is an Update to my review posted on 7/11/17. Warren at this location took ownership of this issue and worked with me directly. He agreed to work on the problem at no additional cost to me. They had my car an additional 2 weeks and completed lots of work on the engine (at their own cost) Basically had to rebuild the entire upper portion of the engine. They also paid for a rental car so that I could return to work Monday (3 days of rental). I picked up my car today and it was driving very well and sounded good. No unexplained noises. No engine light. I was very very very grateful to have it fixed. (I do wish I wasn't out the $1600 I had to shell out for having to bring it back the second time, especially since I believe it was their fault) But all-in-all Warren was great. Very understanding of my situation and willing to get it done for me whatever it took. So Thank you to Warren for getting this resolved. :) read more

This Tires Plus located at 1000 East Bay Drive is terrible. I have been going to this location for about 10 years. Up until 7/28/18, I have always been a satisfied customer. On Saturday my engine light came on and my car was stuttering acting like it was not going to run, so I immediately went to Tires plus on Eastbay to get my car looked at. Steve was more concerned about charging me the 100 diagnostic fee then finding out what the problem was. When they drove my car into the garage to run the diagnostic they broke the key ignition and gear shift. So on top having to pay for the original engine light issue now I have to pay to have someone fix the key ignition and gear shift issue a $400.00 job. Tony who is the manager argued with me and tried to put the blame on me for the broken key ignition and gear shift not working even though I drove in removed the key and gave the key to Steve with no issues. Tony yelled at me on the phone and in person and was very disrespectful and rude to me. They did not even apply the diagnostic fee as a credit to the final invoice. Do not go to this location all they are concerned about is the almighty $$. read more

I made an appointment with Warren yesterday to have tires replaced on my trailer. Brought the trailer in at 10:30 am this morning and told them I would return about 5 to pick it up- no problem! So I return at 4:45pm and they hadn't touched my trailer all day! Warren stated they couldn't get an air gun to where I parked the trailer?! This ASE certified shop has no breaker bar or torque wrench? The two employees with hitches on their trucks couldn't move the trailer the 10 feet needed to get an air gun on it? The answer was "no" to both questions! I guess they couldn't call me about the problem in those 6 hours, either. After moving the trailer myself, I was told it would be another hour before it was ready- So wait an hour or drive 15 minutes home to care for my sick daughter...I left, stunned. 5 minutes after I got home I get a voicemail that my trailer was ready? Come on. I returned 10 minutes before close and they seemed ticked that I did not return earlier. Then Simon obstinately states during check out, "When you're a walk-in, you get what you get..." I was going to argue that point but what's the use. I told Simon to cancel the appointment I made for Saturday to have the tires changed on my Jeep- turns out that appointment wasn't scheduled either... What a bunch of knuckleheads. read more
