I received the world class service. Jeff at Bernie's brought me in the same day and did an outstanding job of getting my headlamp replaced at 65% of the price that I was getting elsewhere. The headlamp was buried and he had to take out a lot of parts to get to it. Thank you. read more

For the second time in a year our 2010 ford edge needed repairs to get it back on the road. Jeff always provides great service at a fair price and quick turnaround. I highly recommend This shop Alan read more

I feel he was honest about his price and not to upsell other thing. I would definitely bring my car there again if anything is wrong with it. And he does get back pretty quick read more

They get the job done for you. I arrived with an emergency and they handled it very quickly.

Took my old Volkswagon beetle there, they diagnosed the problem and fixed it, very happy with them.

Bernie's auto service was honest, expedient and fair in service charges for our BMW 335i which needed a new battery and auto reset of the internal system. Third generation owner of this 65 year old business. Will return. read more

Tune up and new wiper blades $419 out the door. Lowest estimate I had after checking numerous shops. Jeff got right back to me the evening I requested an estimate on Yelp. He was a joy to work with...professional, friendly. The morning I dropped the car off he was short one person and had another job to finish. Still had my car less than 6hrs. The shop is hard to find, even with Google Maps but not so hard you spend 30mins locating it. All in all, ill be back for future work when needed. read more

it is rare these days that anyone calls you back, or answers their own phone. Well, you experience the opposite of that here. Jeff answered the phone, he went the extra mile to answer my question, he answered my yelp request in a short an=mount of time. This is the guy you take your car to because you can count on him. read more

A great mechanic . He fixes and no upselling, He us an honest man . I will definitely go back as needed. It's a relief to have a good mechanic to call And to know he will fix the issue without a list of other things to fix just in case!! . He was efficient and direct and he's just a real mechanic that's not out to rip u off . read more

Bernie's was great. A friend referred me there and I felt Joe and the crew were very honest and helpful. I highly recommend! read more

I had a cracked headlight which allowed water to get inside it. Reached out for several quotes and selected Bernie's. They completed the job this morning and it went well. Jeff, manager, was helpful from the get go. Thanks Jeff and your team. read more

He contacted me regarding installing my new radio in my auto. He did a great job in spectacular time.

I just brought my car here. I'm new to the area and didn't know where to bring my car. I have to say this place is so honest and they actually care about fixing your car and not about the money at all. This is where I will bring my car from now on. They are trustworthy people and to get the service I got today is impressive. I haven't seen an honest car care place in a very long time. I'm very happy read more

We received quotes that were about $800 from local auto service centers in Southern VA. I spoke to Jeff at Bernies Auto Service and he provided a fair price that was below other service stations in the area. After looking at the car, Jeff said that the sway bars also needed to be replaced so that added about $200 (parts and labor) to the cost but still the final cost was still below the other quotes I received that did not include new sway bars. Jeff was very pleasant to work with and I believe we received a fair price for the amount of work that was done. read more

Very fair and honest, very good work! So glad I found this place for when I'm in Florida.

Bill is a great mechanic- a little rough around the edges - but is honest. He's not afraid to take on challenges - I have a 2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid- most mechanic shops around here won't even change a tire or replace wiper blades - the minute you say it's a hybrid - which is so annoying. It's always best to call ahead and make an appointment. He's really busy. read more

They provided exceptional service with prompt timing, accommodating our limited availability as we were only in the area for a week. Jeff was excellent at communicating the diagnosis, providing an accurate estimate, and clearly outlining how long the job would take. We're very glad everything fit into our schedule. Highly recommend to anyone in the area! read more

Here visiting my son and of course kids don't pay attention to car noises. Called Bernie's and Jeff said bring it in and we'll take a look. No charge for the look and he assured me that there was nothing dangerous. We will be making an appointment to get the work done soon. I'm sure his work is as good as the experience we have had so far! Follow up to come. Thanks Jeff! read more

I had something dragging under my car. I feared the worst. Found this place on Yelp. Jeff sent me a message the next morning and said come on in. I did and within 20 minutes they knew what was going on (clip fell off my heat shield) and had me in my way. Very reasonable price too. So low I felt inclined to tip the guy who worked on it so quickly. I'll drive over from Tampa to give them my business. read more

Brought my car in for an oil leak and exhaust check. Very honest business. Easy fixes, nothing major, very fair prices. Owners are friendly and want customers to be happy. read more

They are eager to take your vehicle, but then can't find the time to work on it. They had my vehicle over a month and managed to fix 1 of 3 issues. They can only fix simple problems. They also had another of my vehicles for 3 weeks and did nothing. Just storage! They do not call to update and are as equally unresponsive when I call them. Don't waste your time with them! read more

Not completely new to the area, but factory warranty long gone, so went to Yelp to look for a local mechanic that knew BMW... Quick to respond to my questions, communication was excellent, and very fair pricing as well. Was able to get my car in within a couple days, and completed everything same day. I'll be going back again when the need arises. Very pleased !! read more

Bernie's auto repair wasn't the lowest price, but it was way below the highest price I was quoted. Jeff was friendly and professional and easy to make an appointment with and they did it within a reasonable amount of time. Bernie's is going to be my future auto mechanic for my 1991 Toyota pick up. read more

Based on the Yelp reviews I read, I took my 2018 Honda CR-V to Bernie's to see about getting the front passenger seat repaired. The seat back was frozen in the full down position. I took it a major St. Petersburg Honda dealer and was quoted $2,574 for a new seat frame. Plus, another $185 for a brake fluid flush and exchange. I decided to get another quote and went to Bernie's. They repaired the seat, that required a new seat frame (one of the motors had failed), and took the existing leather off of the old seat frame and put it on the new one! So I had a perfect interior color match. In addition, they did the brake flush and also rotated and balanced the tires. The total cost: $1,075. Quite a saving over the dealership's quote. Jeff did a great job of working through this pretty complicated and labor intensive project, and keeping me up-to-date. My 2 cars will be going to Bernie's from now on when repairs are needed! I took my new antique 1998 boxster 54K miles to have them look her over. No problems she had hesitations. When I left she bucked and I had to restart her. I figured it was new spark plugs. Don't ask me the price... ???I also said my door is temperamental and sometime locks and sometimes does not. Well, that came back at of $2,5K alright no car so far for they did not do any diagnostics till that Friday you had her Wens, Thurs and now late Friday. We know they do not work weekends. Quess what my windows will not go down now. Mo the service Manager and Corrine kept telling me you know she is an antique. In these times it's great to find a repair shop that's trustworthy, competent and has fair prices. Hats off to Bill and his staff

Brought my car to Bernie's for an old change, asked him to check for leaks. He stated there were no leaks. Drove home, about 1/2 mile, saw antifreeze in my driveway the next day. I assumed it was overflow from fluids being topped off. Turns out, my radiator sprung a leak, right after the oil change. . Called Bernie's and inquired how this could happen, he just said , your car is old. The point is, it may be old, but I did not have a radiator issue before the oil change, just right after. Had them put a new radiator in, for $750.00. Not happy about the way this played out. read more

You probably are looking at this because you have some work to be done on your vehicle. Get yourself to Bernies. We have used this shop for years, and I have only good things to say. They do beautiful work, are honest and fair. Having been "burned" at another body shop in Lakeland, I don't want any of the "wheels" at my house going anywhere else. read more

This place has great rating for a reason. Bernie was super helpful and was able to get my car up and running in no time and for a fair prices. Highly recommend!! read more

Nobody likes car problems nor, dealing with shady mechanics. Bernie's is the place to go if you want your car repaired correctly without breaking the bank. Honest repair shops are few and far between especially when it comes to vehicles. We need them to efficiently get us from A to B and when they break, it really sucks. Bill at Bernie's is the nicest and most easy going honest mechanic, I have met in quite sometime. I have several senior lady friends that use him, too. No price gouging here. In fact he usually quotes with both the lesser priced and the better quality parts, so you have the option to save a few extra dollars when money is tight. I'd refer my grandma to Bernie's, if I had one. lol read more

Bernie's Auto Service is one of the few repair shops you can still go to without the fear of being ripped off! I've been going there for about 7 years and he has never steered me wrong. I highly recommend it. read more

I've been going to Bernie's Auto for 14+ years for everything from oil changes and tires to a complete engine replacement. (I'm not sure who Bernie is... Bill Spradlin is the owner). He's the one of the most honest mechanics I've ever come across. How many shops will call when your car is ready and tell you "turns out the repair was $90 LESS than I estimated"? Seriously. He doesn't hard-sell you on ANYTHING. I've never waited more than ONE DAY for a repair unless he couldn't get a part right away and that's only happened once. I only live about 3 miles away but it would be worth an hour drive to not get hassled by chain stores or shady mechanics. read more

I chose Bernie's Auto Service based on the reviews I saw online. I was SHOCKED at the true honesty of this business. You just don't see that these days. I brought my older Jeep Commander in and gave Bill a laundry list of things that were known to have issues, and several that were possible issues, some minor, some VERY major. I even called Bill a few times after dropping my Jeep off to add to the laundry list of services and things I needed checked. I fully expected there to be a lot of work done, a lot of time put into it, and I fully expected a bill of well over $2000, maybe even over $3000. Not only did they do outstanding work, but Bill called me and let me know that many of the things I had listed were not issues at all, or required a very minimal fix that they didn't even charge me for. The final bill was very, very low, WAY LESS than I expected. The work done was top-notch and done very quickly. If you have an issue with your vehicle, no matter where you've taken it in the past, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bernie's Auto Services. You'll get it done right, you'll get an honest, fair price for services, and I'm sure you'll recommend Bernie's Auto Services to everyone. I am. read more
