They will lie to you to get you to sign the authorization and pay their labor cost, and they will tell you what you want to hear to get it. Once they disassemble your car, they've got you. I dropped my truck off knowing the transmission needed to be rebuilt, they told me I had to pay $1,800 up front for the labor of the entire rebuild, the girl at the desk said "the parts are usually $600-$800, but that's just a guesstimate, we use only OEM parts". Once I paid the $1,800 and signed the authorization, they took everything apart, and called me back wanting $4,300 more to finish the job...over and above the $1,800 I already paid them. So a total of $6,100 for a rebuilt transmission with a one year warranty. First of all, that's twice as much as almost every rebuilt transmission I have seen for sale with a 5-7 year warranty. The truck is a 2007, so it isn't worth much more that what they wanted me to pay. Secondly, if they had told me it could possibly be anywhere near that price, I would have never in a million years signed the authorization. I would have bought a rebuilt transmission elsewhere. Third, they refused to give me an itemized estimate, they just listed off everything I supposedly needed, and wrote a total at the end of a text to me. On this list was a "Billet heavy-duty torque converter", which is in no way an OEM part, it's a high performance part like you'd put in a race car. Fourth, and most unbelievably, they CUT my exhaust out of the way with a sawzall in two places!!!!WTF?!!! Ever heard of unbolting it? So we're definitely going to court! After arguing for a half hour with the girl at the desk, she says "well, you probably don't need a Billet torque converter? So what else on that list do I not need? So then I told them "do not do anything else to the truck, there's no way I'm paying that!" , so they boxed up all my parts and kept my $1,800! After texting back and forth with the mechanic (Mark), I found an audio text on my phone from him that he accidentally recorded and pocket texted me on accident. It was a recording of him telling the girl at the desk "You f**king lie to everybody!" and her responding "I had to, when they press me, I just tell them it's a guesstimate." To which he responded "Straighten it out!". She then responded "I'll call Jasen right now and say I heard about the price", that's where the recording ended. Found a used sway bar and bracket and replaced all the worm bushings. Of course this took time and some very skilled people to do this properly. After shopping around I picked Trico and I am very glad I did. I found Steve and Bob both to be very helpful by giving me pricing on several options. I picked having Bob rebuild my existing transmission in-house and he did a great job in less than a week. After 600 miles, Bob has you come back in for a check-up which to my surprise was free. Bridget the receptionist called my Dad when she saw the order and stated that Prosource Transimissions never received the payment of $1399 after the charge was taken from his bank account as soon as the purchase was made. Earl Leggett is the owner of Prosource and my Dad has called to speak with Earl multiple times and never has been able to reach him via telephone, but only receives a voicemail where the mailbox is full, therefore we cannot leave a message. Three weeks ago, my Dad' colleague Cecil was able to reach Earl Leggett and let my Dad speak with Earl. Earl told my Dad that he was awaiting a "Torque Converter" and he would receive the transmission shortly after once he received the converter. To date, there has been no return phone calls from Earl or Bridget from Prosource Transmission, and it has been over two months as of September 2, 2024. Earl Leggett, the owner of Prosource does not send ordered products after your payments are received for your order. He will not answer or return phone calls from customers once he receives their money. My Dad is out $1399, and filed a complaint of fraud with his Bank for further investigation of this matter. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER from Prosource Transmission, because this company is a fraud, dishonest, a scam, not reputable and steals from customers.
