I called ahead to ask if they had time to do an oil change and they said they did. When I arrived and gave them keys they asked for my email address. I went to wait and they said they were sending me an email. I checked and it was an authorization for a full synthetic oil change (the most expensive they have) and it said I had given verbal authorization. I quickly went to the desk and told them I did not authorize a full synthetic and that the last oil change was a blend and I wanted to continue with that. They later sent me an email with recommendations for over $1,000 worth of work they said was "required" based on their inspection. My car is a 2022 Nissan Kicks that I have kept up with all oil changes, etc. They said I needed windshield wipers, cabin air filter, engine air filter, new spark plugs, and a brake job that included rotors, brake pads and shoes. I told them I had just replaced the windshield wipers within the last month so why did they recommend replacement? He stated they were basing the recommendation on mileage. I said your paperwork stated it was based on inspection - and with you just admitting you didn't inspect even the wipers and recommended replacement I don't trust any part of this recommendation. I will not authorize any of the recommendations.
My engine runs great, I have never had any issues with it - so no indication that the spark plugs need replacement. Also, no issues with the brakes - no squealing, no pulling, nothing but smooth stops. So how could it need a complete brake job, including rotars??
I am a woman and I believe they thought I would believe whatever they said just because of that assumption that women don't understand anything about cars. I have used Tires Plus in the past without any problems, but not this location before. This is the Tires Plus on Countryside in Clearwater. I was there today, 7/23/26. These people are committing fraud and tried to pressure me into these repairs stating they were "required." Very dishonest!! read more
