Lacking a place to change our own oil, we have taken our vehicle to Tires Plus for several years now. They've always been reliable and trustworthy. We took our truck to them on Friday 5/15/26 and they did the oil change as requested, but tried to tell us our (very expensive) battery needed to be replaced. We had just purchased a brand new battery (still under warranty) but we immediately took it to be checked. Nothing wrong with it! My 2017 Jeep Cherokee A/C has 1234YF refrigerant and Tires Plus is one of the few places that service the new formula. Mark did a complete service and the A/C worked fine for a couple of days. He then diagnosed a crack in the evap core and after I had that replaced, he recharged the system. Randy, the manager, said there was no charge and they even took my old core to recycle for me. Tried charging me for an alignment service that was never performed. I took my car in on 11/15/14 to have an alignment service performed for a pull to the left. They had my car in and out in less than 30 mins, so I was a bit skeptical it was done. I go to the counter to sign the paperwork and the guy rang me up for $93 on the service almost immediately and did not even go through the alignment results with me. I told him I had their lifetime alignment package so I got the cost waived. I then inquired about the alignment and he very briefly showed me the sheet and couldn't answer me when I asked if any adjustments were made. He went to ask a tech and came back saying "You're all good, bud." I ask again if any adjustments were made. Now he and the manager teams up to tell me that the alignment was all in the green so no adjustments was made. I tell them I still have a pull and he blames my tires and that it might have a "radial pull" as the tires wear down. This is funny because my tires are BRAND NEW Michelins I got at the Toyota Dealership with less than 500 miles on them. I state this and now they blame it on a bad tire and tell me I need to take it back to Toyota. Rather than trying to help me with my problem, they tried to push me out the door as quickly as possible. I highly doubt my brand new premium name tires are bad nor are they the cause for the pull seeing that it was present before I got new tires. My tires were purchased from Toyota/Scion of Iowa City and I know that quality work was performed. I've used this repair shop for years and numerous cars. I have never had a bad experience. They always are helpful and give you a price that's a lot lower than other places. They don't try to pressure you into repairs and usually get you in/out in a decent amount of time. Would definitely recommend this repair shop for any type of car and problem. read more

Lying by omission is just as bad as outright lying. In my experience, Tires Plus will lie by omission when quoting price. They quote an "out the door" price. In theory, this is good. Back in the day tire places would quote the tire price only then add on everything at the end. Was always quite the shock. "Out the door" quotes became necessary because customers caught on and were forced to ask. At Tires Plus, they take it a step further. They add on a bunch of stuff you don't need and/or don't ask for. Road hazard coverage is fine, but ASK if the customer wants it, don't just stick it on there. (I did manage to get a refund on this when I went back to complain.) New valve stems? Ok, but did I ask for "lifetime warranty" valve stems at $4 each?!? No, I did not. Since I will probably sell the car before I would ever have a chance to use the warranty (valve stems generally last a long time), this was unnecessary gouging and taking advantage of the opportunity to "lie by omission". I'm sure 'regular' valve stems at $1 each would have worked just fine. The extra and unnecessary $12 on my bill was not appreciated. Makes me wonder how many customers don't even notice this stuff? Lying by omission and price gouging. Good enough reason to go elsewhere. I will NEVER go back. read more

I've looked for years for auto care experts,but when they were recommended to me by a friend I knew I had found the place. I've spent thousand's with tires plus ( Collins rd) I am amazed every time. I drive 80 miles round trip to these guys but its a short drive for the level of service I receive. I'll never go anywhere else. Try them one time and you will feel the same. We had a completely flat and bald tire and they got us in immediately for a tire change and it was way cheaper than expected and it is a really good tire. It also only took about 30 minutes. We'll be going back to get 3 new tires! read more

This place is horrible. I took my car in on a Tuesday and was told it would take 3 days to get a part in, that they would get started on it right away. They claimed to have started as soon as the part was in that Friday and promised it would be done that night. After calling them hours later, they told me they hadn't started and I'd just have to wait a couple more days. Why, after 4 days, was my car not on the top of their list? I'd cutting up my car and spreading the word- the Collins Road Tires Plus is a waste of time and money! read more

Made an appointment to have new tires and a tie rod installed on my Audi Q5. My primary mechanic said I should have tire place install a new tie rod at same time. Bring car in. Get a call that tires were installed but tie rod wasn't delivered so they couldn't install that. Said they would call me as soon as tie rod arrived so that installation could be completed. Assured me it would be an Audi part and they would take $50 off install. Got call few days later and brought car in for tie rod install. Next day was appointment at main mechanic. He informs me that it looks like wrong tie rod was installed and wasn't installed properly, allowing debris to get in. He cleaned up the poor job that Tires Plus did. I might take the non-Audi part being used, but don't lie to me about it. But then messing up the installation, and no apology for the bad job. Will I be back? NO. And I've told others about this situation. read more
