My latest experience at Tirecraft was a huge improvement over my initial visit so I thought it was also worth revisiting my review. I dropped my car off before work to have my tires changed over for the season with plans to pick it up at the end of the day. This time I received multiple calls throughout the day to keep my updated with my car's status. There were a couple things that needed to be done to my car in addition to the tires but it was nothing out of the ordinary and the person I spoke to was great at explaining exactly what needed to be fixed and why. As for pickup, the employee made sure to go through the bill and explain all of the charges to me before I paid. I'm glad I gave this Tirecraft a 2nd chance. read more

Used this place for years, even recommended to friends. Told me recently my brake work was under warranty (told me twice - once while looking at my account on their computer screen). Told later, with a really stupid lie, that the work would be full price. Thinking of all the upsales over the years (new tires in 2018 then again in 2019). One manager can't look you in the eye when he's lying, but the other one sure can. There must be an honest shop in the area - I'll find it! read more

I had purchased a set of All Weather tires from this Tirecraft (Whyte Ave.) & was assured by the owner & mechanic at this store that the tires have a 80,000km warranty. They inspected my car & told me that the rods, ball bearings etc. are in great shape & that their tires would run great on my car, the tires had barely any tread left on them after only 20,000kms so I went back to the shop with my receipt/warranty in hand since they gave me a warranty that covers the tires up to 80,000kms and they immediately went into excuse mode while they tried to blame the wear of the tires on a loose ball bearing, instead of taking care of the customer & honoring the warranty they tried to sell me new tires & repair work incredibly rude terrible service at this location! read more

Don't go to this place! I brought my vehicle in at a 8am to have the tires switched from summer to winter. They said the job would be done by noon at the very latest, as they weren't busy. I called twice throughout the day, once at around 1pm, still not done, again at 3, still not done, I walked by at 3:30 and the vehicle hadn't moved. I called again and they said it was up next, finally shortly before 5 it was done. If I had known it would take so long I would have taken it some place else. When I picked up the vehicle I noticed on the way home the tire pressure indicator light was on, but I was stuck in traffic and figured I would go back the next day. In the morning I went to work, and the light was still on, at the end of the day when I got to my vehicle the front driver side tire was flat. Great!!! I called them back, again it's rush hour, so no getting there before they close. I talked to Landon and he basically said too bad for you, and yelled at me over the phone. Not, "that's not good, bring it in and we'll look at it". Never going back, horrible customer service!! read more

Not really the place you want to visit for engine repair. great customer service but horrible rates. I got my car fixed here and then billed me super high. Then the next day, my engine light went on and I had to come in again then spend over 100 bucks more for additional work they should of fixed in the first place. I highly recommend someone else. read more

All I can say, is go to Kal tire! or somewhere else. I have been using this shop for 5 years now, and initially was very impressed but recently I was more than disappointed and frustrated. After buying my winter tires and rims from them (and being told that they will change the tires over for free if I buy the rims) I arrived to pick up my car at the end of the day to find it NOT done. So I had to wait 20 minutes for them to change the tires, and was presented with a $67 bill. When I asked what had changed I got a long list of excuses for the cost, for it not being done etc - and not so much as an apology. And to add salt to the wound, after driving my car on the hiway for over a week, I felt it wasn't driving right, so checked the air pressure - sure enough ALL the tires were low - they had NOT even checked the tires before putting them on! When I called to tell them of this safety hazard - guess what - ANOTHER excuse and no apology. So, simply save yourself the annoyance, safety concerns and 70 dollars, and go somewhere else. read more

I went in to make my x5 check and they did 2 hours of diagnostic which cost around $300 in total and they told me a bunch of stuff to my car and i said ok i'll be nack for those service as its kinda pricey so i paid for the diagnostic. 2 days after my car can't change gear and wont move so i towed it to the nearest kaltire and told them what tirecraft in whyte ave just told me about my cars problem. Turns out i needed a trans fluid and idle control valves which in tirecraft's report it didn't have it. Bottom line non of those findings really cost my car to stop moving and i just paid a waste of money for them. There mechanic told me also that my break pads only have 15% left on it while kaltire told me i have about 30% left. But still my point is i dont think their mechanics are skilled enough to even know that bmw scanner are really diff from normal ones that is why their codes that being red are way diff than what kaltire just told me. Im now up and running thanks to kaltire at 99 st. I also recomment kaltire at gateway their prices are awesome. Tirecraft at whyte ave not so much. I understand we need to make business but never again will i comback for their business. read more

SHORT STORY: Told us we it would be $1000's of dollars for all new tires and brakes when we brought the car in for a simple flat tire, and were posing as a Fountain Tire when in fact they are actually TireCraft now. We will never go there again. Long story: We have been long time customers of this Fountain Tire because it was close to where we lived and my husband's work had an account with Fountain Tire. However, Fountain Tire has removed their name from this shop due to their terrible business practices. We were not aware of this going into the shop, as in fact there are no Tire Craft signs anywhere and absolutely no indication that the shop had changed. We hit one of the ubiquitous potholes in the city, and got a flat tire on our '07 Civic. Upon taking it in to this location, we were told that flats from potholes were not covered by Fountain Tire even though we had a tire warranty. When they finally looked at the car, they told us we needed all four tires replaced. At first, the guy said it was because they were worn out, but when my husband questioned this, as we've only put 40,000km on them, he said that there was in fact 50% tread left but all the rims were damaged (I only hit the pothole once, with one wheel. Not all four). I then called a different Fountain Tire and asked about their Road Hazard Warranty for tires and was told it indeed did cover potholes, though was a prorated warranty. When we told this to the Whyte ave location, he said "No, that's like a Mercedes hitting a meridian." (?????) (Note they still did not tell us this location was NOT A FOUNTAIN TIRE). IN ADDITION to all this, they also told us our brakes were completely shot, and needed $1000 worth of work including calipers. We took our car in to get the brakes checked barely 6 months ago (to a different company) and were told we had lots of wear left on them. When we told them we were going to take our car elsewhere, they told us we had to pay for a wheel alignment (I don't know why they would have done an alignment when they wanted to put all new tires on the car!). It was at this point we finally found out that they were not, in fact, a Fountain Tire at all, but a Tire Craft. They are trying to scam all the customers that assume this location is still a Fountain Tire. This location puts a bad name on mechanic shops everywhere, because it reinforces the idea that they're all out to get as much money from you as they can. UPDATE: We took our car to an ACTUAL Fountain Tire (on 96th St and 111 Ave) and got the tire replaced under the prorated warranty, they said the other two tires were in near perfect condition and it would be at least another year or so before our brakes would need any work at all. read more

they are now a tirecraft store under new management..best service I've had anywhere..i stopped by kal tire downtown to have my summer tires put on in mid april.. I was told that they couldn't look at it till end of may...end of may!!!!...so I stopped at fountaintire downtown and a little better 2 weeks only..i had been at fountaintire whyte ave(tirecraft now) before and liked their guys..also just had my brakes done here good mechanics and very competitive prices its a miracle got me in and out in 2 hours..great service great guys..sending all my friends to you...thanks read more
