I had James as a frontman for the tires and installs i just got done today and I've never been treated or felt as good as i did about a large purchase. He didn't take me over the coals and prompt service with a smile. And for his crew, spot on. Had fresh powder coated rims to get new winter tires put on and not a single scuff on any of them. the shop guys all friendly and willing to go that extra mile. I have found my forever Kal tire! PS... if you go in to a shop and bring a smile instead of being mad you have to service the vehicle and spend money, its not their fault everything has a shelf life and will one day need to be replaced. Went for my seasonal tire change and was outta there in less then an hour. The service and staff is awesome as usual. I've been a customer of Kal Tire on Sparrow drive for over 20 years and they've always been nothing but A1. My dad got tires and service there and now my son is also a customer there. I've recommended this location to friends and none have been disappointed. Kudos to James Dunkley as he went above and beyond. Lately I've been very frustrated with this Kaltire location. Twice I've tried bringing my car in to get a tire patched, tried making an appointment, and nobody answers the phone. Drop in, and they're fully booked. Now I get it, being booked means you're booked, but this is twice now where I've had to be turned away, because they won't look at tires they installed. September 9/19 I was scheduled for a 7:30 am appt to get and shocks and struts, wheel balancing and alignment done to my older but in excellent condition 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. In 10 yrs I only put on 50,000 kms!!! My husband and I used to get our vehicles serviced at a different non- dealership establishment in Leduc, but once they changed ownership everything went downhill and they didn't value their customers anymore, it was all about the money! So I was experiencing a lot of shimmy in my steering wheel and my SUV drove very rough and I knew I needed shocks and struts for quite some time. I had them replaced at the previous establishment we used to go to and I don't know what they did, but it didn't make a big difference. Today, when I drove home, WOW! It was like floating on air. It's like I have a brand new SUV! Not only that, Chris was so helpful to explain the wear and life of my tires. The brand of tires I had, (which are made by Michelin). Told me I have a good 3 years left on these tires. Chris also did and explained, the under the hood fluid level inspection for me. He is so kind and friendly. He explains everything so well and answers all your questions. He's been in the business for over 18 years he said, so I'm more than confident in what Chris has to say than anyone else, to be totally honest. At the end of our transaction Chris couldn't stress enough of how important it is to get my wheels torqued after about 100 kms, for my safety. He gave me an example of someone who didn't and their wheel came off doing 120 kms on the hwy. and their axle fell causing $3500. damage to a $2500 vehicle. Alot of times, people don't listen to what has been told to them after a service has been done to their vehicles. Therefore they come back with problems, wanting Kal Tire to fix them. And if they are not fixed to their liking it's Kal Tires fault. This I don't agree with nor do I agree with some of the negativity regarding Kal Tire in Leduc!! Sure, I can understand someone having a bad experience, however, any such time, has always been address by the Kal Tire representative ( whomever it happens to be at the time) for the customer to come in and talk about it and rectify the issue together, the most professional and friendly way possible. What more could you ask for from a business? When leaving Kal Tire, Chris wished me and my husband good day and stated, that they appreciated our business. We haven't heard that for a long time from other businesses where we spent a lot of money for years. It was very nice to hear that someone appreciated our business. Update #2: the manager called me back following my last update. He explained to me that the situation should have been dealt with differently and they should have asked me to come back and addressed the concerns at my convince. He then assured me he would have conversations with the staff at the front and implied he would also talk with the technicians to ensure situations like this will not happen again in the future. Just for some context, the issue I was experiencing turned out to be excessive mud caked on the rim and the tires had abnormal wear. I am not sure if it is easily identifiable by technians, but if it is, I hope their techniains don't put speed before quality and safety in the future. Update#1: it has been 7 full days and the manager has still refused to call me. Or perhaps their staff have refused to ask the manager to resolve this issue. What little hope I had for this store redeeming itself in my eyes has all but evaporated by now. I am not pleased with my experience at this particular Kal tire location (in Leduc). I went in for a tire changeover yesterday and when I got the car back I noticed the car was now vibrating/shaking at highway speeds and also making excessive noise which increases at lower speeds. When I tried to address these concerns with this Kal Tire location, they said it would not be a safety issue and they would not be able to fit me back in their schedule to really take a look at it. I then called a different Kal tire location who told me I should get my car into a shop because he could not guarante the safety of my vehicle unless it was looked at but he also could not book me in (that was the South Edmonton Common location) but he recommended I try the Summerside/Ellerslie location. When I got there they were also predictably busy. I explain my situation to 3 different people because I was first told to get my wheels torqued because it might solve the issue but there was little else he could do at that time, then the 2nd person said to test drive around the parking lot to see if the issue persisted after the torque fixed it ( hard to test issues like that in a parking lot when it presents itself at highway speeds), he said to go back inside and he will talk with the front desk people while I test drive. I went back in again, lined up again, then finally saw a 3rd person. I explained everything and he said it was strange that the Leduc Kal tire store did not balance the tires before putting them in my car because that was standard procedure for all Kal tire locations. He also said they should address an issue if it happens after servicing a car (which it did in my case). Therefore this 3rd person recommended that I call and talk to a manager at the Leduc store. I called them and got put on hold for 7 minutes (which is shorter than I anticipated). I was then told the manager is not in and was asked to call back Monday. I asked if he could leave a message for the manager to call me back when he could. I explained my situation yet again and was told in a somewhat demeaning tone (but clearly and in a very straightforward manner) that they simply could not get around to addressing my issue because they believed the issue was there before the tires were switched and they were too busy to balance each tire coming through even though they typically would. My issue with this store is they seem to start neglecting parts of their procedure when they get busy, they do not seem to want to take action to address customer concerns that arise following their work at their store. While they may be correct that the wheels need to be balanced and perhaps they were not balanced correctly before (I do not think this issue the case because I did not have these issues with the same tires last time I had them on), I am frustrated because my concerns for my safety and potential damage to my vehicle were pushed aside because they were too busy. I have had nothing but fantastic experiences at other Kal tire locations and would not hesitate to recomend them to all my friends and family, but this experience at the Leduc Kal tire location has been very negative. At this time I am waiting for the manager to contact me. I will try to update this review after that point. read more

Amazing personable staff... I cant remember the managers name but he was really helpful in getting my vehicles new shoes LOL ... they explained each tires abilities and disabilities for what I was using them for... I cant wait to have to visit again read more

Went there today and the staff was so nice. Service was excellent. And if you donate there for food bank, you can have a free service for the tire repair. For sure I will go back there if I need something for my car. read more

Well it took a couple of complaining emails to Kal Tire but I have actually received a response which will resolve my problem hopefully. They will open up the store for me on Sunday next. So I guess they have come through in the end. It just goes to show that it is worth complaining to the company and sometimes it comes out well. If all goes well on Sunday I guess it will go from one star to five - for now I'm revising it upwards to 3 , maybe 3 1/2 The service has never been fast but I had my winter tires put on about 3 weeks ago. I had an appointment but still waited over 2 hours. I have been away from home for most of the past 3 weeks but when I got home this weekend discovered that the wheels had not been properly balanced. So off I went back to Kal Tire who were so unconcerned and busy that my choices were either make an appointment for later (Nov 1 is the first time it will work for me) or leave my car for the entire day - not an option as i would need to take a cab home and back and be without a car for the whole day. Most places that make a mistake will go out of their way to rectify it at the customers convenience. Not this Kal Tire. I store my tires with them and have already paid for 6 months. In spring I will pick up my tires and go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have always gone to this kal tire location to big our tires, wheel alignments, etc and have generally had great experiences. Last time I took my pathfinder in to get two new tires they somehow managed to dispose of my good tire and put a flat spare back on the vehicle. The next time I took my vehicle to the store needing a wheel alignment, balancing and rotation I told the manager what happened and rather than an apology I was accused of lying and he tried to charge me to move a good spare in place of the flat one. Being a loyal customer means nothing to this manager. read more
