My moms new tires were having recurrent problems with going flat. Her current mechanic was giving her the run around by saying she would have to pay for each tire just to have it looked at even though they installed them. I called tire choice and the guy that answered was able to get me in same day and told me on the phone how much different services would cost depending on what they found. They also mentioned that inspections for the vehicle are free (if you wanted to sell the vehicle at a later date etc). I waited with the van for an hour while they checked all the tires. Turns out the rim was corroded and a bead seal wasn't placed when the tires were placed. They fixed that at no charge and checked the other tires while they were at it! read more

Shawn was so responsive and kind. I was driving from Columbus, back to Cleveland and one of my tires was rapidly losing air. I used my Waze app to find a tire shop & ended up here. My tire was patched & I was sent on my way quickly. Their bays were full, but Shawn accommodated me quickly and I was in my way. Very grateful. read more

We tried to get our car in for an appointment to get a new battery today at another business, but couldn't get an appointment until late next week. So we took the car to Tire Choice (used to be Monro Muffler) at the corner of Trimble Rd. and Lexington Avenue in Mansfield. They charged us $361.62 just for a battery. A 100% mark up on that battery! We could have gotten a new battery somewhere else for less than $200. They admitted to us that they marked up the battery cost 100%, and they fully took advantage of our situation and need for a new battery today. We used to do all of our basic car maintenance there, never going back! Beware they are only out for the money, no customer service whatsoever. read more

I took my vehicle for an exhaust problem, they supposedly fixed my exhaust. I returned to pickup my vehicle, it was quieter, two days later, my vehicle sounded the same as before the repair. The tech said the parts was defective and the lifetime warranty on the parts it would be repaired again on Monday which the parts could not be found and I asked to be refunded since I did not believe the work had actually done, and this was 2 days after the parts could not be located. We have been going to Monroe for many years, always great service. Last week we dropped my car off for an oil change and tire rotation and then went to dinner about 20 minutes away. They close at 7 and I completely forgot about my car and had missed the call from Evan asking if I was coming to get my car. It was about 7:15 when I realized this. I thought I would go ahead and call just to make sure they were not there and Evan answered the phone and said he would wait for us. I just thought this was excellent customer service, he did not have to do this. When I got there he was very nice about the situation and didn't make me feel bad about it at all. Bernie has always been really great to work with also. I saw a couple of bad reviews but we have never had nothing but great service. Thanks to All of you. read more

I have been going to this Monro for several years and have never had any issues....until Saturday, February 20. I dropped off my car for an oil change and mentioned I had a very low tire on the passenger rear side. The guy said that the tire rotation came with the price and that they always topped off the air. So I left my car and walked to a nearby store. When I returned I asked him if the tire had been very low his response was "oh yeah". I get home and my husband notices that the same tire (still very low) is still in the same place (passenger rear). So not only were my tires not rotated like they said......they let me drive off with a nearly flat tire. I will not be returning to this location! read more

I recently visited my 78-year-old grandmother to assist her with some running around town. Upon visiting with her, I learned that she recently had her oil changed to her 1994 Toyota Tercel, which has 115,000 plus miles on it. I am very aware that her vehicle has issues, however I was extremely disappointed to learn how the store manager (Tim Hunter) at your Mansfield Ohio (Trimble Road Location) treated my grandmother. Apparently, after changing her oil and rotating her tires Mr. Hunter took it upon himself to announce to all of the guests in the lobby how unsafe her vehicle was to drive and all of the issues with the vehicle. My grandmother then shared with Mr. Hunter she is aware of the problems with her vehicle and would like him to perform the services she requested. Mr. Hunter continued to berate her to the point he elaborated on the likelihood of her killing herself and/or others on the road. After doing so, the services were rendered and he reported that she declined all of the recommendations. In looking at the receipt these recommendations are not listed although it states "driver declines repairs". My grandmother looked to another patron at the store to inquire if she were overreacting to Mr. Hunter to which the other customer replied he yells at me the same way all the time. I called the store Friday evening to ask for Mr. Hunter District Manager's phone number in regards to this complaint. I do not feel my grandmother should have to deal with him anymore than she already has, as my plan was to discuss the lack of professionalism and customer service she and others are clearly receiving from Mr. Hunter. In talking to him, he became very defensive when I asked for his District Managers name and number, stating he deals with things for his store and they need to go through him. I made multiple attempts to have Mr. Hunter listen to my concerns however he was more concerned with telling me all the issues with my grandmothers car, which I informed him was not the issue I was calling for. Mr. Hunter directed me to customer service, which I am aware is very typical as a call to customer service will likely be kicked back to him at the store level bypassing his immediate supervisor. Frankly, he was talking over me the entire conversation and it was not until the end of the conversation when I raised my voice and said "Tim you clearly have an issue with listening to customers and would much rather talk over them and express yourself than hear their concerns." At this point, he offered me a reimbursement (Oil change) for the problem and I stated, "I do not want a reimbursement, I want to speak to your manger." At this point, he again directed me to customer service, which I called, to find they are out of the office until Saturday morning, which I can only assume he was aware of but failed to share. Although I was not the direct customer in this situation it is clear to me Tim is in dire need of developing his customer service skills, mostly centered around active listening and problem resolution. Please know my intention is to share my experience and my grandmother's experience with everyone I come in direct contact with in-person and electronically with the hopes future guest do not have to deal with similar lack of professionalism. Based on other reviews that I have read about the store this is clearly an issue that continues to reoccur at this location. Thank you for hearing my concerns. I have been visiting this Trimble Road location with three vehicles for two years or so, generally just for oil changes and tire rotations so really no big deal regarding quality of service. I know what service my vehicles need, and am used to the "up-sell" so have no problem saying "no, thank you". I called this location this morning and said I have a screw in my tire and do you make those kinds of tire repairs? I was told yes and made an appointment. Upon arrival, I again stated that I was here because I have a screw in my tire to be repaired. I left to walk over to run an errand. When I got back, the manager came in to announce to the room, "Ma'am your tire is not repairable. Come on out here and I will show you why it cannot be repaired." He showed me the screw, which I already told him was there, and proceeded to tell me they do not plug screw holes because they are not safe. I told him "First of all, yes they are when done properly in a shop, which is why I brought it to a shop. Second of all, I specifically said twice that I was coming in to have a screw removed and repaired." He did not miss a beat to show me quotes to replace all four tires for over $600, "we are running a special right now". I replied that I am not purchasing tires, you told me you repaired screw holes. "Well ma'am if you would like to have just the one tire replaced for now..." "NO, I already told you I am NOT buying anything. Again, you told me you make these repairs which is the only reason I came in here." I told him to lower my car to leave so I don't have to waste any more of my time here for this. He wanted to show me the difference between a "patch" (which is apparently safe) and a "plug". I told him I already know the difference and do not have any more time to waste here if he is not going to do what he said he could do when I called. There are plenty of shops who do safely plug holes every day. If the policy for Monro is to not plug holes, I should have been told that when I called at 7:30 this morning so I didn't waste my time going in there. The only reason he took my appointment was to get me in the door to sell me four new tires. I have three cars and work within a quarter mile of this location. I will no longer be taking my business into this location and do not recommend that you do, either. I replied directly to Brittany to state that the manager did explain the patching policy, AFTER he took my appointment to get me in the door. I took my vehicle to this location for an oil change, filter & tire rotation. My exhaust was very loud, so I asked them to take a look and give me an estimate for repair/replacement. The manager looked everything over and told me there was no "leak", but that the back of the muffler was falling off. He suggested welding this back on ... EXCELLENT! The charge was very minimal and 3 weeks later everything is still perfect. I appreciated that he suggested the "fix" instead of replacing the whole system.
