James the front desk person was very very rude. I'm disabled and they did nothing to help. I've used their services since I was in college (many many years ago). Brought tires with road warranty about 2 1/2 years ago. Less than 20,000 miles on them They kept losing air. Went back three different times. The last time I know it was cold but I only had 22 pounds of pressure in my front tire. I asked if they could put air in the front tire. I was told I needed to wait for 4/5 cars to get serviced or make an appt on Friday. Because I'm unable to get out of the car without the assistance of two canes so I was unable to get air. I was told not to come back for service even though I have a road warranty guarantee that I paid extra for. I was appalled. I guarantee you I was not rude obviously he was having a bad day but whatever they lost my business. read more

I have been a customer at this location multiple times. Ranging from buying a new set of tires to patching a leaking tire and tire rotation. Each time I have been here, it has been a positive experience with customer service as well as services provided. If you buy tires from them, they will rotate them for free for the life of tires. Depending on the situation of a leaking tire, they may not charge for a patch either. This is a great place to go to have tires installed or repaired. We came to change the wheels. While parking my sprinter, an employee damaged the door and side mirror. After that, I wanted to put a jack under the sprinter rail, which would definitely break it, since it is not designed for this. They didn't know that there was a special place for the sprinter's jack. After that, I stopped further damage to my car. The general manager, to whom I tried to give a place on the sprinter to lift the sprinter. During this, the general manager said to leave and leave. They refused to provide the service. To which I tried to show the damage to my car that his employees had done. To which he kept yelling at me to get out. And I wasn't going to leave, because the damage had to be paid for. It took the general manager some time to calm down and see the problem. After that, he calmly offered to discuss further actions in the office. In the office, he constantly laughed at requests to present a certificate to their insurance company. And he assured me only verbally that they would call me. Still, he gave me an unsigned paper and asked me to leave. The segment is 4 days after these events. So far, no one has called. Be careful when choosing this service. Management tried to force my wife to buy a new tire, because of some arbitrary internal rule about not fixing a tire already containing three puncture repairs, by removing the tire and putting the rim/wheel in the back of the car. When I went in to demand the return of the tire, the person in charge refused to have the tire put back on the rim and told me to buy a new tire or leave. When I demanded the return of the tire they removed, he then, while pointing his finger at his face and drawing a circle around it while exaggeratingly grinning said, "Do you see how much I care? Do you?" . Eventually I retrieved the tire and took it elsewhere to have it repaired. I will NEVER buy anything from this company again. This is after using Tire Barn exclusively for everything tire related for the last 30+ years. There are too many other tire stores / dealers in this town to be treated in this manner. I've always had a good experience here with tire repairs, and have visited several times over the last five or six years with different cars. Customer service is friendly on the phone and in person. The shop is busy but they move fast. I don't like to sit in the showroom, but they have several seats in a waiting area if that's your thing. Me, I walk next door to Speedway for a drink, or carefully walk across the road to the Mexican bakery. My car gets good tire treatment at Tire Barn, and I get a snack nearby. Purchased 4 winter tires last year and finding blisters on the interior sidewalls with less than 5K miles. Turns out Pirelli tires are known for weak sidewalls with all sorts of customers complaining about blistering for years with no warranty support. Why would Tire Barn recommend and sell a tire that is well-known to cause many problems due to poor construction and not honor customer warranty? Traveling through Indiana we got a flat in a very rural area. We got our spare on but needed to find a place to buy new tire. Most places I called were already closed at 5 pm. Called Tire Barn. When I explained our situation, he said "sure we'd love to help you out. We are open for another hour. Come on in" 30 minutes later we arrived. They were so incredibly nice to deal with, didn't try to take advantage of our situation and took care of us immediately We were back on the road in 25 minutes!! Great people and great experience. So, we were driving our rental car down to Purdue from Chicago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Somewhere around Gary, IN (about 20 min into the 2 hour drive) a strange light with a big ! in the middle comes on the dashboard. "What's that light mean?" my travel companion inquires? "I don't know... let me check the manual", I respond, "looks like low tire pressure". And low tire pressure it was. As in: rapidly approaching zero. Well, Tire Barn wasn't around to help us then. In fact no one was. You see, while Indiana might have more Car Repair stores per capita than Tiger Woods has mistresses, not a single one of them is open on Sunday. We were forced to doughnut it down interstate 65 to Purdue. Turns out those little spares can go above 50 mph and further than 50 miles. On Monday morning it's my job to get the problem fixed before meetings that afternoon. I do a quick Yelp search and find this place (I'm lucky Charles F wrote the previous review). $15 and 15 minutes later the car is back in perfect shape. I called to see if the Walmart auto center was open and they said it would be open for another hour so I put some air in the tire and headed over. When I got there I was told they were booked up and they would not fix it. So as my tire was slowly going flat again, I headed toward Tire Barn. Not only were they happy to fix it for me even though they were near closing too I was shocked when they did not charge me a nickel for the service ! I have always gone Tire Barn for new tires or to get patched and fixed. I've been to this location at least three or four times in the last five years and normally I have a fine experience, nothing too amazing but nothing harmful or angering - Just a normal experience getting my car repaired. A few weeks ago it became obvious that I needed new front tires so I called Tire Barn to get a price estimate and see if there was a certain time of the week that would be best to bring my car in. I was quoted about $160 dollars for two tires and they said they put the tires on hold for me for seven days. I went in today to get my new tires and had the most horrible customers experience of my life. The guy at the counter was very rude and was talking to me like he thought I was a child and didn't understand my own car. When I went to pick up my car after several hours, I asked if I could pay with card numbers without the actual card, and he snapped at me that that was not an option, so I said ok I'l figure it out, after I said ok and worked on figuring out what way to pay he continued talking to me rudely about how allowing me to do that would cost him his job and that was for sure not an option. Again, I wasn't arguing with him about it. I had said okay and worked towards a new options. When I finally got the bill paid and got my key back I went out to my car and the outside door handle on the driver's side door was broken off of the door on one side. The car door still opens, but the handle is no longer anchored to the door on the left side. I went and told the guy at the desk about the broken door handle, and he came outside to look at it. when he saw it was indeed broken he told me that he didn't know how that happened because neither he nor the tech had issues with it. He went and got his General Manager and brought him out to look at it, and the manager told me that it looked like it had been broken for a while and they only did tires so he didn't know what I was expecting. after this, I just took my car and left because I was upset at how I was being treated. i called customers service while on a three-way call with my dad and we were then hung up on by one worker, and when we called back and finally got to talk to somebody she was very rude and snapped at my dad that he wasn't allowed to talk on this call because they weren't allowed to do three-way calls. Ultimately I am very upset by my treatment today and the way this company handles the fact that part of my car was broken while at their shop. read more

This place is now horrible. I have bought tires here for 25 years. The manager retired and all the good help left was recently lost to Belle Tires who is coming to town. Now a bunch of clowns left working there. I had my tire repaired there. They put the letter on the opposite way of my other three tires. I took it back to have them fix it and now the new guy says sorry, we cannot touch the tire because it is too low on tread. So now I'm stuck with one white letter out. I took my car here to help with a flat tire. The moment I arrived the guy at the front desk with gauges earrings was quite literally, the rudest guy I've ever met. Because of him, my entire service experience was ruined, and I ended up taking my car down a few doors to "Big Wheels Customs" where they had excellent service and were able to fix my car with ease and minimal cost. This place was voted "Best of" for 2009 by the Journal and Courier readers. I've been a long time customer and have purchased 2 sets of tires. Even after shopping around the first time I needed tires, they had some of the best prices. I don't bother to shop around for tires anymore, I just go to Tire Barn. Their best aspect is the customer service. They offer free rotation AND balancing on their tires through the life of the tires. Recently, I experienced how effective their road hazard warranty is. An unfortunate incident with a curb basically destroyed my tire. They replaced it with a brand new one and I only had to pay for the warranty on the new tire (about $17). It was even replaced with the same exact brand/model of tire! Since the construction of the new facility a few years back, they offer 4 wheel alignment which is a huge benefit (especially after my curb incident mentioned above). So far, I've only had one minor incident. I was out of town for Christmas and had brake work done on my vehicle. The GM dealer told me one of the wheel studs was stripped. The only other entity to pull off my wheel was a tire rotation at Tire Barn. After my return to IN, I took in the stripped lug and the receipt showing the cost for that repair. The man at the counter didn't even ask any questions. He opened up the drawer and reimbursed me with cash on the spot (it was under $20.) If you need tires, give them a try. They are very knowledgeable. They can usually pull up the size by make/model of the vehicle. Otherwise they'll just go out and look at the size. Then tell them what you are wanting (good mileage, low noise, wet weather, dry weather, off road, on road...etc) and they will present you with some options. read more

I've taken a many of cars to Tire Barn in the past for alignments. These included a '96 Golf, '90 Jetta, '91 Jetta, and a '90 Passat. I recently took my new to me '97 Passat in for an alignment, and was turned away by their alignment tech. He refused to do the job claiming it was too difficult even though the suspension is identical in every way to the '90 Passat that they've done in the past. And so similar to the Golf and Jettas that they share suspension components. To quote my dealership tech friends, it doesn't get much easier to do this alignment job. I also found out that they turned away a friend of mine with his '01 Audi A4 and another friend's '99 Jetta for the same reasons. I do not know if it is just the tech there now or a new corporate policy not to work on European cars, but it is a terrible policy and was treated rudely when I questioned the decision. I will not darken their door step again, even with the American cars in my stable. They have lost a long time customer and the recommendations I used to hand out regularly. read more

We ordered a new rim for our truck and four new tires. We received call today that order came in. We asked if they could check new rim on truck to make sure the lugs would fit since it was used for a spare tire. They said no problem. We watched them and they did not check the spare rim. My husband asked again if they could check it. Guy got all upset and said its the right rim and it doesn't need to be checked. We told him yes it does and he storms off and gets it checked. I scheduled an online appointment which apparently did not go through, but is something they are currently working on which is totally fine - just be aware that your appointment might not go through at the moment! Otherwise service was great! The wait in line was a little long (definitely not terrible though), but it was probably just a busy time of day. I needed a previously plugged tire to be properly fixed, which they were able to do. (Other tire stores that I checked with did not fix plugged tires.) They were done with my car within about 45 min after checking in. Plus, they fixed my tire for FREE!!! I was so excited about that! I have purchased tires from this store several times. They generally have good prices on good tires, which is why I've come back. Service has a tendency to be a bit slow, but not overwhelmingly so...until today. I made an appointment to get 4 new tires to replace old ones. My front two had plenty of tread left, but one was "chopped" (for no apparent reason). I asked about whether the warranty would apply. The man at the desk for "intake" made some comment about rotating them; I said they had been but not probably as often as they would have wanted. He said nothing more about it, writing me off. (Tires had about 25K on them out of 50K rating.) I waited 1:45 before my car was even taken into the bay to *begin* the work. at 3:15, I looked into the bay where my car was and it was gone. It took 5 minutes to look around and find it, finished. I waited another 10-15 minutes before anyone returned to the service desk. From the moment I walked into the store to the moment I got my keys, it was 3 hours and 30 minutes. I missed a funeral I had planned to attend as a result of the horrible lack of service. The man who checked me out took a call while taking care of me, and I heard him say something about quitting as soon as the manager was in. I doubt I'll ever come back to Tire Barn. read more

Coming from San Diego and knowing nothing about winter tires, I felt extremely confident in them and knew I was in good hands. What really impressed me was that they didn't try to oversell me on anything. They walked me through the choices for my tires and even recommended that I not go with the highest priced tires since I had mid-level tires on my car now.
