I want to start by saying this, I absolutely love my Mustang! It rarely has issues other than normal wear such as brakes and little things. However, I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT LET ANYONE WORK ON MY CAR! EVER! I will only take my beloved pony to LYONS. He is honest, reliable, respectful, and his name and shop speak for itself. His schedule is busy but he will always get you in no matter what(usually the same or next day) . I know plenty of people who feel the same way about this guy and his place! Prices are always in affordable range. But most importantly I know my car is in good hands. He just gives the nice grandpa vibe! Who doesn't love that!! Ron and Ty are the best! As others have mentioned, they are honest, fast, reliable, and have great rates too. I feel like we have found a real "hidden gem" in Lafayette for auto repair and alignment. Today, we had an appt. for 2 vehicles at 9 a.m. My wife's Camry needed an alignment. I needed a recharge on my A/C. Both were completed in less than 45 minutes. This is my new go-to shop for auto repairs. Recently had a 2009 Hyundai start acting up, running rough with weak acceleration. Called Lyons on Wednesday and they fixed the car on Friday. Diagnosed a bad ignition coil on cylinder #2. They called me with the news and said, "The fix will require removal of the manifold, while that's off we recommend changing the spark plugs." Mileage is 116,000... yep that's a smart move. All of this at fair price for parts and labor. No scams, no up sells, just good old-fashioned auto shop. Lyons Alignment has worked on several of my vehicles. I cannot express how appreciative I am of having a shop that is honest and has integrity. That is hard to find these days. You who know understand. I would not recommend other shops in the Lafayette area. I recently had work performed on my daughter's vehicle for a bad wheel bearing. I asked whether the other side should be replaced or not. The response was that they had checked it and did not recommend replacement at this time because they had checked it as well. read more

During the frigid temperatures over the last week, my daughter's Kia windshield wipers stopped working. Being two hours away from Purdue (my daughter is a senior there), I asked other Purdue parents if there is an automotive center they would recommend for servicing. Lyons Automotive was one of a few recommended. I called two other service stations before speaking to Ron Lyons and neither of the other automotive shops had room for another car on short notice. Mr Lyons asked her to bring in the vehicle the next morning. A couple hours after dropping the car off, Mr Lyons called my daughter to come pick the car up. Due to all the snow and freezing rain followed by negative degree temps, the windshield wiper motor apparently got water inside and it had frozen. I guess Mr Lyons just thawed it out for my daughter was extremely happy to one, being completed so quickly, and two, to not be charged for the service. I have another child planning to go to Purdue and I would trust Lyons for any work in the future. read more

I didn't have anything major done, just a rounded lug-nut that I couldn't get off without going out and buying extra tools. They did it in five minutes, and didn't even charge me, just told me to come to them when I needed something done. My daughter goes to Purdue and her 96 astro wouldn't run so I call Lyons and they said they could get it running. Very polite and organized. We dropped it off late Friday night and they called her early Monday to let her know the problem and cost because he knew she would be in class and wouldn't be able to get a hold of her. Our son is going to Purdue, and his Jeep engine check light came on, did some research and found Lyons on line and they had a 5 Star rating. Called them Monday morning. Talke to them and they got the Jeep in Tuesday morning. They called and informed me what was wrong. The coil pack went bad and it needed spark plugs. They had it fixed and back to my son before lunch time. Did a great job and a very fair price. If we have any trouble in the future, they will be the first that I will call to get anything fixed.
