Malcolm, Thank you for reaching out to Johnny's for your landscaping needs. Are you looking for a quote for a one time clean up or a one time clean up and recurring maintenance service? regards, Duy Tran This was my reply: Due Tran, There is no clean up needed. The house has been maintained by my regular gardener but he is retiring. I need a regular recurring service. Malcolm Jarvis This was his reply: Malcolm, We can provide bi-weekly landscape maintenance services for this property for $65 per visit. Please let me know if you'd like to proceed with scheduling the services by providing your full name, email address, and service address. I will send over a proposal for your review and signature. Thank you, Duy Tran This was my reply: Duy, There is very little maintenance required and I am looking for once a month at a reasonable price. Malcolm This was his reply: We can provide once every 4 week service at your property for $95 per visit. This was my reply: Duy, Thank you for getting back to me and working with me. I would like you to visit the property so we can discuss what you will do once every 4 weeks for $95 per. I am available to meet tomorrow, Wednesday, anytime from 10:30 - 1:00, Thursday from 8:00 - 2:00 and Friday 8:00 - 11:00 and 1:30 - 5:00. This was his reply: Malcolm - I just reviewed my routes and my La Mesa routes are completely full with a wait list. I wish you the best of luck on your search for a landscaper. My Thought: If this doesn't sound fishy to you I don't know what would!! I would not trust this guy and I DEFINITELY would not give him any money upfront.

She received a quote and sent me the phone # to schedule since she was busy at work. I reached out, sent photos, and awaited a response. The person I was texting asked if we were looking for reoccurring service or the one time weed removal when I replied requesting just one time service I didn't hear back. I texted again requesting an estimate, no response. Texted again the next day on Wednesday and they finally requested my information. I sent my info, received an email to sign an estimate agreement and after signing and sending it right back I received no response. I texted back that we would be going with a different service who was able to schedule us in. I'm usually really patient but the lack of communication is what bothered me. They were quick to reach back out after sending initial photos but after I opted for a one time service instead of reoccurring services is when I stopped hearing back so quickly. No shade at all if a business doesn't want to offer their services or prefers bigger projects but I would have appreciated better transparency and communication. I'm sure others have had more positive experiences but for me personally I wouldn't recommend this business. I believe in treating every customer with the same respect and willingness to communicate regardless of project size.

Yesterday I noticed some of their errors that still piss me off to this day, so I thought I'd see if the company was still in business. Based on recent reviews, they are still doing shabby work. Matt took his time, met with us, and outlined options for us to choose from that were within our budget and afforded us the best use of the additional yard space we had. Ultimately, we went with a tiered and stepped keystone wall that was absolutely beautiful. Matt's team led by Ernie were all kind, professional, worked hard, and came in on time and within budget. An important factor when selecting a contactor in my opinion. Matt went out of his way to communicate throughout the project, and his team worked very hard to deliver a beautiful project for us. Matt even helped us find other services we were looking for as a courtesy to us. Something else of note, they did a great job with our neighbors listening to questions they had, responding to them, and did a great job to accommodate their asks and needs since this was a tight project and a small material laydown space to get material back to. If you're looking for a professional team, reasonably priced that can deliver on a vision for your property, look no further than Paving Stone of San Diego, I highly recommend their services. Kris M. Curtiss is highly knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and a pleasure to work with. The level of communication was refreshing, and Curt's Land Patrol truly lived up to their stated objective of "providing personal service with excellence." At every step, we had clear expectations, and Curtiss and his crew delivered exactly as promised. We were especially impressed by how quickly they were able to start the job. The quality of the work was top notch, and instead of dragging the project out for another month or two, they worked every day and had everything wrapped up in a couple of weeks. Their price was also very reasonable, and the payment schedule was fair: one installment around the halfway mark, after hauling away some hardscape/dirt, prep work, and irrigation installation, and the final payment once they had completed the job. Another thing that stood out was the complimentary 45-day weekly service, with on-site maintenance to make sure the plants are adjusting and the landscaping is solid. I grew up in a time when that level of care and follow-through was the norm, and it felt like old school landscaping service in the best way possible. At the risk of sounding like an ad campaign for Curt's Land Patrol, I can't recommend them enough. They will be our go-to landscaper as long as we are in San Diego. I would rate them 6/5 stars if possible.
