Mixed results here as food orders and service were somewhat confusing throughout the evening. A shared appetizer of both beef and chicken empanadas worked out fine. Fresh and tasty we awaited our main course selections. An order of five (5) tacos arrived with only four. The fifth eventually arrived - all were enjoyed. The brussel spouts and braise short rib (nice and spicy) were true winners. The fish taco / pork belly / ahi tuna enjoyed as well. Now the confusion - Two orders of chicken enchiladas were requested. Prior to ordering our server assured us this selection would not be spicy. Selections finally arrive as beef enchiladas (not even on the menu)...not chicken...and spicy. Service was mediocre at best. Took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks. The guacamole and chips as an appetizer was barely enough for 2 people. We were a party of 4. This is NOT an authentic Mexican Restaurant, be warned. Waitress was not friendly and it seemed like a chore for her to be working. Disappointed to say the least.....second time I have been to this place. First time was meh because the food was delivered cold but this time......we walked in around 6:10pm and ordered around 6:18pm. An app and 5 tacos. At 6:59pm the 5 tacos showed up cold like they were sitting there forever because they were. The outside patio was seated pretty full from what we could see but inside had maybe 4 other tables, which were all served before us. I told the manager the food took at least a half hour to be delivered to us and that it was cold, asked him to touch it since we were not going to eat it and he did. All he did was take the food to the kitchen. We asked for the bill since we were not wanting a round 2 of the nonsense and we got the bill for the 3 beers and 1 app - bull. As a food service employee for 20plus years I know the number 1 thing is concentrate on is repeat customers. He never apologized or comped anything. The Restaurant is nice and lively and VERY Load. we all ordered Margaritas. The order was wrong. They fixed it in a flash. The menu was interesting. Lots of different tacos, bowls and Mexican specialties. The chips and guacamole were just ok. Avocados we're from a plastic container and chips just average. We all ordered our meals. We ordered various tacos . We were brought nothing we ordered . The wait staff was confused and out of sorts. It's was not an enjoyable evening . Plus was there really taqueria in the Margaritas? This place is very expensive , they charged side order for rice $6 ( almost like the price for whole lunch ) and it is my Honest review here, good Taco here . Went to visit the tipsy taco yesterday... ordered the bucket of nachos.. that was horrible.. ordered a chicken and beef empanada that was burnt and hard also horrible. Ordered the organic chicken wings. Those were also burnt and horrible.. ordered the chicken tortilla soup I asked for no cheese it came to the table with cheese in it... I picked all the clumps of cheese out of it and ate it anyway. I was asked if I wanted to send it back I don't send food back.. that's just me...ordered the salmon salad that was great.. ordered a large froze that was okay.. I take it that all the good cooks are in the Scarsdale location which is their newest location.. I went during happy hour and sat at the bar.. that's the best way to do sampling of the food. Without digging too deep in your pockets.. I'm glad I did too because I would have been pissed off to pay full price for the Oscar the grouch trash can food.. I can get a better empanada from a food truck in ridgewood queens... and that's on the street. the beef empanada looked like a can of dog chow I should have taken a picture and it was burnt. The chicken empanada was just burnt too so I didn't even bother.. the experience came up to $118.00.. I still tipped the waiter she wasn't the one cooking the food... they do a whole lot of talking in the kitchen when you should be watching the food so that it doesn't burn. No bueno. I took my family there this past weekend. We ate at 5:30 so it wasn't busy. From start to finish it was bad. Food and drinks were mediocre. I ordered chips/guac and nachos for the table. We got the guac and asked if the nachos were still coming. They said "yes". They came to take the plates for sharing apps - again we asked about the nachos - "yes, they're coming.". I had to go up to the bar to get salt for the guac (it was as if I was a ghost to the waitstaff) and I again asked if the nachos were coming. Nachos never came. My daughter and her friend each ordered chicken fingers. One plate looked delicious, garnish, well prepared chicken, etc... the other plate had 3 burnt fingers, no garnish, and overall looked terrible. I'm not sure how a server could look at the two plates and not think something is wrong. Even the fries were gross on the one plate. The side of broccoli we ordered was colder than as if they were pulled directly from the refrigerator. My tacos were OK and my wife's bowl was fine, but the service was terrible. The weird part is that the waitstaff was actually very nice. It was just total incompetence. I would never go here again. read more

Delicious!!! Why haven't I come here sooner? To begin with the chips and salsa are amazing; salsa is so fresh with just the right balance of spices but the CHIPS are organic and the best I've ever had. My fiancé has been to this restaurant a few times for work. He raves about it so I had to try, we stopped in for a quick dinner on Monday night. The place was more crowded than I anticipated for a Monday night. I guess that's a good thing :) We ordered 3 tacos, pork carnitas, Atlantic shrimp and the ahi tuna. The ahi tuna was the only taco I ordered that had a hard taco. The tacos were good, I wasn't completely satisfied. My fiancé got the steak bowl- he said the same- we should have ordered an appetizer. So this place is known for Tequila and obviously food. Well we only ordered food... however when we let the server know we were not interested in beverages aside from water ... he walked away. He literally just walked away and didn't give us a chance to even ask about appetizers. We waited until the server came back, he took our order for food and we never saw him again hahaha. Well until we got the bill. We asked someone else for hot sauce. And we also asked someone else for the bill. Apparently if you don't get any alcohol here you won't get good service what a shame. I have been to this spot twice in past year, both times with my team from work which varied from about twelve to sixteen people. It's kind of a sports bar meets cantina vibe, kinda strange. He was serving the bar and like 6 other tables in addition to us and the service was never slow and he never rushed us. Guy gets it done! Margaritas were very fresh, tasty, and strong (but not too strong as I was able to drink like 4 or 5). My girlfriend and I were in the mood for some rice bowls so I got the shrimp one and she got the chicken one and we asked for extra crema which was the move to add a little more of a sauciness to the bowl. Jeremy also talked me into trying the tacos which I had the short rib one and it was literally insane. Getting like 7 of those next time I come in. Then I also got a portabella mushroom taco, not what I would normally go for but the consistensy was very good and it was seasoned nicely. We also started with chips salsa and guac and it was delicious. Also got some plantains which came with like a garlic sauce that reminded me of dominos garlic sauce but way better. We ended the night with some churros which were soooo good as well. Jeremy got us a round on the house as well which I couldnt tell you the last time thats happened to me. Meh. I've given this place multiple tries and it's left me thoroughly and utterly disappointed each time. The tacos are woefully small. The meat is incredibly dry. There's absolutely ZERO flavor in any of it. This place has, by far, some of the most disappointing tacos I've ever had (and I tried a large sampling of them with each visit). I was so disappointed with my final meal from them that I went and got good tacos elsewhere. Oh well, at least I gave them the benefit of the doubt with multiple visits. Seriously, if you like tacos, don't go here unless you're prepared for a colossal letdown! The guacamole is... fine. Excellent and full of flavor, but overpriced, especially the fish taco: a pathetic little fish nugget hidden somewhere in the taco and garnish...for $4.75. Too bad, though, bc it really was a delicious bite. I had the skirt steak and queso Oaxaca quesadilla as well, which was also great. Normally, this amount of food would stuff an average human being, but because TTB skimps a bit with their tacos, I'm ready for seconds. The food was really really good, the patio at the side of the restaurant was lovely. Only thing that stopped the Tipsy getting five stars was the wait. We waited ages to order, we waited to get our food, we waited quite awhile to get take home boxes and when the bill finally came I quickly gave him my card to avoid another wait! Tacos were varied, fajitas came in a large portion with several toppings and the elote was messy but good. My monitor was really good though it seemed less minty and more basil in flavor. This is a tough one. i liked the space and the waitress was friendly and attentive. the black bean soup was excellent. Full of taste and well presented with a drizzle of sour cream. The guacamole and chips were also excellent except a portion ofbthe guacamole was not mashed. The cocktails were delicious but too small and too heavy on ice. The big issue was my steak/shrimp fajita combo. The price for steak or shrimp was $17. When i got the bill there was an upcharge of $8.00 for 3 small pieces of cocktail shrimp. Could be rhe smallest teeny tiny morsals i have ever seen. I was not told of an upcharge and certainly would not have paid $8.00 even if they were a normal size. Given thw size i could not even taste the shrimp. Also of note is no free chips or salsa which i am not a fan of. All in all, an unlikely return. read more
