We were looking for a family-friendly restaurant near the AB Cinema in Mt. Kisco and came across this one. What a delightful surprise! Family-owned, very local, authentic food, hard-working waitstaff that provide tremendous service. Great papusas! If you're new to Salvadoran food & not sure what to order, the "plato typico" is a good place to start- 2 papusas, rice, beans and some sweet plantains. The beans were possibly the best I have ever tasted! They serve a typical red salsa with your meal and curtido, a kind of cabbage slaw to eat with your papusas. I also ask for a side of avocado & some crema- all together it is a great good combination! Also, their iced tea is sweet & tangy, which was pleasantly surprising (normally I don't like sweetened iced tea). They also serve horchata if you're into that. All in all, it is a very filling lunch for about 10 bucks, plus tip. Yes, it is a hole-in-the-wall, but don't let that deter you- this place is a great find! It really helped me get over my disappointment with La Papusa Loca in Port Chester. read more

Ate here a couple of weeks ago and I was extremely impressed with the food at Rincon. We didn't encounter the language barrier issue that other reviewers did, and were there a bit early so it wasn't busy. But let me tell you...the pupusas were some of the best I've ever had, and the Taco/Enchilada combo plate was spectacular. Add a glass bottle of Fanta and you are in business! Make no mistake - you don't come to Rincon for the ambiance. This place is all about high quality authentic Salvadoran food at a great price. Great value, great flavor and a solid alternative when you're looking for Latin, but want something different from Mexican. We will be back! read more

I love this little gem of a hole-in-the-wall and wish I can get to eat here more often than I do. The staff is very friendly - for non-Spanish speakers, just point and smile. Pupusas are delicious - try them with queso y chicharron (cheese and fried pork skin - mmm!). The platters are yummy too, especially the daily specials. We came out for a hike and needed lunch! It may not look like much, and the servers may not communicate that well, but the food was delicious! We ordered the mariscos caldo.........they either forgot the order, or because we ordered so much more food, they may have misunderstood. So, we reordered the soup. It was fabulous! I'm not sure why we were not offered the slaw or Creme with our papusas, but maybe it was because we weren't Latin. If the service was better, it wold have been a 5 star experience. I used to come here a lot. I was an unofficial delegate of this place- I brought everyone I knew here- even my high school physics teacher. Why? This place rocks. My diet has changed so I haven't visited in years but I'm fairly certain their food is just as spectacular and affordable as it always was. Old favorites were the "pupusas deluxe" (two pupusas- con queso y chicharron- with rice, beans, and plantains), the fried corn tamales (sweet!), chicken soup, banana shake, horchata. Can't go wrong here. Not necessarily healthy food but not the worst either. I can only reminisce on the good old days of pupusa eating contests and tipping 100 or 200% of the meager bill for two pupusas. read more

This might be the best food in Mt. Kisco and to tell the truth I'm glad nobody goes there, nobody American anyway. The first thing to know is that you should speak Spanish, or bring someone who does. The menu is bilingual, but the staff is not. When in doubt you can point, but you'll miss out on the specials, which are only posted in Spanish on the board. Now on to the food, HUGE portions, for no money. My favorite is the taco / enchilada combo with rice and beans. It is El Salvadorian so don't expect Mexican enchiladas or tacos, these are different, and better. The combo is served with mounds of meat and rice and shredded greens all seasoned perfectly and only $8.00. That's right 8 freakin' bucks. I usually top mine with an order of the chorizo which is the best I have had in my life. They also have authentic South American drinks like horchata which might be an acquired taste for some. The decor.... Well, the place is a hole in the wall and looks more like an extension of the bodega next door than a restaurant. The walls are covered with El Salvadorian art and money. Telemundo is the program of choice on the Television. Rest assured you would probably never look twice at this place. As I write this review, I almost want to delete it. I am the only "white" guy I have ever seen in this place and I would be very disappointed if I couldn't get a table because the world found out about my very favorite place to eat. read more

I love this place. I've been coming here for years. It's kind of a "hole in the wall" but the food is authentic and delicious. I'm the type of person that is interested in good food and as long as the place is clean I don't care about the rest. Every time I come here I always get the "Plato tipico" that comes with two pupusas of your choice, rice, beans and a sweet plantain. The beans are honestly the best in all of mt. Kisco. My only complaint is the service. They are SLOW. Very friendly, but slow. Even though they are painfully slow I feel the food is worth the wait it's a hidden gem in mount Kisco. I questioned myself before writing this because I don't want too many people discovering it. The food never disappoints and the prices are really good. read more

The chicken was VERY VERY VERY dry but the steak was pretty good. The rice was bland and needed salt. The service was nice enough. One person for the entire place so it took a while to get anything (ordering/food/check). The restaurant is COLD which makes the food get cold quickly. I wouldn't come back.
