It's a cozy space with about five tables, and literally every seat was taken. Despite the size, we were seated at a table for four and our orders were taken promptly. The restaurant also sells a variety of imported products, giving it a bodega/restaurant vibe. The menu is simple, offering everything from pupusas and steaks to tamales and daily specials. I went with four pupusas: cheese, mixta, chicharrón, and beans. The rest of the family ordered steaks, and nothing disappointed. The food was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The pupusas were done right--filled generously, the tortillas cooked perfectly with no mushy centers. I ate until I was about to pop! The red sauce and curtido (salad) were the perfect pairing, alongside a tall glass of horchata. Considering how full I was, the price made it even better. Another local gem you absolutely need to try. 5/5 stars.

Authentic Taste of El Salvador - A Hidden Gem…read more We were on the hunt for authentic pupusas and struck gold with this small, hole-in-the-wall spot that delivers big on flavor and tradition. With an extensive menu full of classic Salvadoran options, we ultimately chose the pupusas revueltas, filled with chicharrón (pork rinds), frijoles (beans), and cheese. They were freshly made, so we did wait about 35 minutes--but it was absolutely worth it for the taste and quality. The accompanying green and red sauces were excellent complements, though a word to the wise: the red sauce (which is more orange in color) packs serious heat. If you love spicy food, you're in for a treat--but it might deserve a little PSA for the uninitiated! They also offer a wide selection of aguas frescas. I tried the jamaica (hibiscus juice), and it was refreshing and flavorful. The prices are very affordable, the portions generous, and beyond pupusas, the restaurant offers a variety of Salvadoran snacks, candies, chips, and even ice cream--perfect for anyone wanting to relive the flavors of home. A special thanks to Brenda, who curated a playlist of classic cumbia music that gave the whole experience a warm and nostalgic vibe. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone craving authentic Salvadoran food.

The atol de elote was fantastic, served piping hot, it featured sweet corn flavor and a great mouthfeel. The tres leches cake was a wonderful version, the icing was great and the cake texture was perfect to absorb just the right amount of "leches". Prices were very reasonable. Looking forward to returning for more of the same dishes and to try the entrees!

My pupusas filled with cheese beans and loroco were very filling and the calabacita platter was the same. I definitely preferred the taste of the pupusas as the calabacita needed a strong sauce for taste so I ended up using the red and green salsas from the pupusas. However, even though I marked for utensils the restaurant did not provide me any. I don't know if that was a glitch in communications between Uber Eats and the restaurant, but it made it a pain to go hunting for plastic silverware at a quiet hotel.

Since it is so small, all the popular foods are enjoyed all over the country, from the coast to the mountains.
