After some long awaited delays, tipsy putt is a great addition to Cannery Row. We went on day 1 and despite the crowds, the service was super friendly and the mini golf course was fun and efficient! Day 1 offered a membership for a year for $95. After seeing the price for one game ($15) and crunching some numbers, it was an easy sell for the annual membership (although I'm sooo sad I didn't get the $195 lifetime membership they offered 2 years ago when they first planned on opening). Either way the membership gets you free games throughout the year and a couple bucks off beers each visit. The beer selection was worth the cost of admission with local faves like Humble Sea Socks and Sandals and Alvarado St. Mai Tai PA for decent prices given the location. The mini golf isn't really the draw here but it was still a fun, challenging course to enjoy with friends. We didn't get to get the 1-2 Putt but given the hooting and hollering it looked like a good time. At $12/game again the membership looks to be paying off with future visits. I ordered the tinga tacos and they were a good value at $4.50 each. I saw a plate of nachos and immediately had fomo as they were piled high enough that I saw some toppings fall to the ground. Overall this will be a great place for locals, visitors visiting locals, and visitors looking for a family friendly (and 21+ friendly spot after hours) near Cannery Row. This review is for the food only. I didn't make it to play tonight on the grand opening event. Food is serve service with a text alert to let you know it's ready. But really, check it after 30 minutes. I ordered the Barbacoa, Pork Belly and Fish Tacos. They are all a bit different but I think the fish taco was really solid with lots of flavor and spice. There is local beer on tap as well as other regional beers. Join the Tipsy Putt Club for discount online or via the app. This is truly a party atmosphere. Tipsy Putt is a great place to grab drinks & play indoor miniature golf &/or 1,2 Putt. We were warmly greeted by the manager, who did a great job explaining where everything is located. Each Tipsy Putt has a different layout. It was great to go in after the busy aquarium and relax. We really enjoyed listening to music, playing games and siping on drinks. They have a great selection of beer on tap & drinks for the kiddos. They even have a food menu and all the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. I really appreciated how the manager explained 1, 2 Putt to us, it had been awhile since J played that game. We will definitely return next time we are in Monterey. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 4:00pm. Beers were cold and delicious, and it was low key upstairs for 1-2 putt. I enjoyed the atmosphere, not too loud and not busy at all! We came here from 4 hours away and none of the employees told us that it was their "League Night", so we only got to play for about 30 minutes before they kicked us out even though we played for the Unlimited Golf. My husband and I were looking for a place to go have a couple of drinks, some food and watch the football games being that it was Sunday and we were in town celebrating my birthday. We walked by and saw the Sunday ticket sign advertised outside and decided to stop in and check it out. So glad we did! The drinks were good. My husband got the Birria tacos and I got the pulled pork sliders and both were flavorful and good. The two male bartenders were very nice, helpful and always made sure we had everything we needed. It was a wonderful experience. The margs were nice and strong. I do recommend the strawberry marg over the pineapple but that may be personal preference. The mini gold is $18 per person. They have food. They do have an elevator for people in wheelchairs. The elevator is employee only but it's open to those of us who need it. Kind of disappointed in our first visit. Friends and I decided it might be fun to meet up there for Taco Tuesday and some mini-golf. Got off to a bad start while I was waiting for my friends. The place wasn't busy, and walked in to take a peek. It was somewhat inviting, but the expensive swag and greeter who didn't look up from her device were a bad omen. My friends arrived and we went in. The staff were friendly. After getting some details on the system, the layout and the rules, we ordered. Had to order food and drinks separately at the counter. No food allowed on the actual golfing area, but beverages are welcome. They have a nice selection of beers, but since I was planning to drink wine later in the evening, I went that route. They had two red wines on tap--a Pinot Noir and a Cab. I went with latter. Nothing awful, but I probably should have gone with beer. One friend ordered a margarita. No "regular" ones available--just fruit flavors (pre-mixed). Only *some* of the tacos are available as part of the three for $10 Tuesday special--no surprise there. I ordered two chicken tikka tacos and potato soyrizo taco. My friends ordered a variety of tacos. We chose a seat in the largely empty, big, echoey venue. And waited. And waited. Finally, one friend got up to order another drink and check on our food. Close to half an hour after ordering, we were hungry, and what do we find out? Our order didn't go through. Not only that, but we had to order--and pay--again! The guy who took our order was very apologetic but didn't offer us any discounts, a free round of drinks...nothing. We were just kind of stunned. When our food finally came out, I didn't find it to be anything special. Neither the chicken tikka nor Soyrizo potato tacos had flavors that popped. The crema or raita on the chicken tacos dulled most of the other flavors (except fi the jalapeño slices), and neither variety of taco had any crunch or texture. Tipsy Putt: Where the drinks are strong and so is my likeability. So I hit up Tipsy Putt, the glorious mashup of mini golf, cocktails, and vibes - and let me tell you, I LIKED it. Almost as much as everyone there clearly liked me. I'm not saying I was the life of the party, but if there was a trophy for "Most Likeable Person," I would've been holding it in one hand and a margarita (thanks Kyle) in the other. Speaking of Kyle - Absolute legend. The man poured drinks with the confidence of someone who knows he's everyone's favorite (next to me). The course itself? Equal parts fun and emotionally humbling. We were looking to grab a cold beer while we were visiting Monterey. thought we were going into a different place. it was a nice surprise. They had a great group of taps, some really good breweries. Decided to take a break from the aquarium and have lunch here. It's not too far and totally walkable. A lot of the restaurants closer to the aquarium had long wait times but this one didn't. The food was good but bummed that they were out of a lot of beers. There are games throughout the building too. The restroom downstairs needs some work cause it reeked as if splatty had just used it and demolished the bowl. read more

My family went here for an early dinner, out of town tourists looking for something fun, but still a quality meal. We honestly got neither. The mini-golf is pretty lame, but at least it's expensive. This place is so much fun! We actually visited twice while in Monterey because we had such a great time. Good local beer and surprisingly really tasty food as well. The bartenders are easy going and friendly and there's plenty of games available to play upstairs. Downstairs there's another bar, mini golf, beer pong, and a big connect four board. It was decorated really cute for Valentine's Day but I imagine this place is fun year round and a great spot for dates or a night with friends. read more

This place won't last very long. I came in, and there's no host. The food is okay, but very overpriced. The music is so loud, and it's all TikTok songs. They don't accept cash, and they won't direct you to an ATM; they just look at you with a sad, sorry face. The employees were unattentive and seemed understaffed. They offer a good selection of beers and even with the long lines, the staff is respondent. The basement putt is fun and the walk down can be tricky depending on how much one's had to drink but overall the atmosphere in here was very cozy. They can also make mixed cocktails and they don't skimp on the alcohol, so plus a star for not being cheap with their drinks. I've been here twice within the past few months alone for a work functions and just stopping by at random. I did notice one time that the staff was not quite as attentive as my other visits but totally understandable considering it was very packed house and a long line of customers waiting to order drinks. I think it's really good for families? There were far more children than I expected for also having a bar. I would say also that price wise that's rather expensive for the mimosa deal they have, their mimosas are very weak. I would say if you just order drinks and want to play putt, have money to spare and don't mind some children again, it might be the place for you.
