Preface: We recently went on a Thursday evening, Saturday evening, Sunday evening, and Monday afternoon. It was so good we kept coming back for more! Food: love it. We had the fish and chips a few times, the clam chowder multiple times, the bread bowl with clam chowder twice, the Westminster's Cottage Pie once, and repeatedly ordered the sticky toffee pudding! - Best fish and chips in the area, we haven't had fried fish this good since being down in San Diego. The tartar sauce is the best I've had ever, hands down. - The clam chowder is the perfect balance of salty and creamy, we ordered this every time we came in and either shared the bowl or had our own bread bowls. Tip: if you order the bread bowl, make sure you eat the bread bowl!! No food goes to waste. - I tried the Westminster's Cottage Pie one of our meals because everything else had been so good so far and I'm open to trying new dishes. I really enjoyed it!! It tasted like a late fall evening and was perfectly hot and tasty. - you MUST order the sticky toffee pudding!! I had no idea what it was, Alex our waitress suggested it, and our minds were blown away at how stupid good it was!! If you're not totally sure about it, order 1 of them to try it out. I recommend getting 1 to yourself instead is sharing, but sharing is possible. Service: absolutely wonderful service. We had Alex 3 of the 4 times we went and she is super helpful in answering any questions and very warm + personable. She's very knowledgeable about the menu and the local area. She was kind and gave us directions after one of our meals. Everyone we encountered there was very pleasant! Ambience: think Dr Who dive bar + outdoor seating overlooking a marina. It was nice and quiet every time we went there, even when it was packed people kept their voices to a considerate level. The outdoor seating is dog friendly, I saw a few people bring their dogs and were given bowls of water for the pups. Outdoors there are heaters you can sit under if you get chilly. It's a beautiful view outside, getting to overlook the marina and bay and eat on the water. If it's too windy for your liking, eat inside at one of their tables. Good vibes all around. Overall: I 100% recommend eating here! It's quiet, the view is good, the food is great, and it has an overall homey feel to it. read more

Wonderful restaurant and great experience for our family vacation. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The outdoor patio area was clean and lit beautifully. The firepit tables were perfectly cozy and helped keep us warm on our evening outing. They are pet friendly on the patio and my toddler loved our friendly waitress. They don't take reservations, but there was no wait when we arrived at dinner time on New Year's Eve. There were lots of indoor and outdoor seating options to choose from, including booths, high tables, and seats at the bar. In winter, it felt even hotter in the partially covered patio than inside, with fire pits at some tables and heaters up above. So we decided on sitting outside. There was also live music happening in the back room on this holiday evening, which was cool to check out. The art and decor in the restaurant was quirky and added character to the place. What's more, the staff was friendly and helpful and provided outstanding service throughout the evening. We got the cockney chicken pie, blackened rock cod, cup of clam chowder, and to drink, a lemon drop cocktail and big sur golden (draught beer). The only thing salty was the lemon drop, as they put salt on the rim instead of sugar. But it was still tasty and made well otherwise. The food was delicious, full of flavor without all the sodium. I especially enjoyed the creamy and savory chicken pie with a flaky crust on top and lightly seasoned veggies. The clam chowder was quite good too. It tasted fresh and was very satisfying. They're known for their fish and chips, and I can see why. The fish was delicious, not overly battered, but still crispy. I always love when a battered fish actually tastes like fish instead of greasy batter. The outdoor seating is fun because it has a beautiful view of the bay and includes fire pits at the tables. Curry fries were really good, actually tasted the curry. Service was good, both servers provided for our needs. The one downside is that you have to pay for parking and they don't validate parking, even when the parking is literally right outside their front door. read more

Honestly loved it! The place doesn't look like much from the outside but I love the decor and feel of an English pub. We had beers the bar and then decided to just stay for dinner and were seated outdoors. We ordered the calamari and the fresh salmon. I was surprised at the quality! The London bridge pub is like taking a trip to London without leaving Monterey. The place is decorated with all things British. It is very fun! The location right next to the boat docks at the harbor is amazing as well. On a beautiful day, it's hard to imagine a better spot to eat lunch or grab a drink and just watch the world go by. We all ordered bangers and mash for lunch when we were there. We all enjoyed them quite a bit and will definitely return to eat again another day and enjoy the beautiful view and very cute pub! read more

I'm not here to review the food or the service because, after witnessing the owner's behavior, I have absolutely no desire to ever spend a dime at this establishment. On Saturday, I watched the owner go out of his way to approach a street vendor who was in the middle of making a burger and demand to see his permit. The vendor was clearly caught off guard but calmly told him THREE times that he had a permit. The man standing there demanding to see it then confirmed that he was the owner--in his very noticeable British accent--which somehow made his behavior even more embarrassing. Instead of taking the vendor at his word and moving on, he stood there with an incredible sense of entitlement, waiting for the permit as if he were some kind of authority. I finally spoke up because watching someone harass a person who was simply trying to earn an honest living was absolutely disgusting. Once he realized nobody was going to entertain his behavior, he stormed off. Let me say this again: if a street vendor is enough of a threat to your business that you feel the need to stop what you're doing, walk over to him, and demand his permit, maybe the problem isn't the street vendor. Maybe focus on your own business instead. And judging by the reviews already posted, you have plenty to focus on. There is nothing impressive about using your position to intimidate someone who is simply trying to make an honest living. It came across as arrogant, entitled, and completely unnecessary. I've never eaten here, and after seeing the kind of person behind the establishment, I never will. You didn't lose a potential customer because of your food--you lost one because of your character. read more

Good service here, it's comfortable and the vibe is very chill. The fish and chips dish was good, the fish was a little overcook and the fries were a little undercooked but it tasted great and the sauce was delicious and not overbearing but balanced out the meal (which is excellent). The water tasted great (even with ice) as did the corned beef hash -- this was very good. The coleslaw is a bit sweet but overall it doesn't weigh you down and you can still have a brew without overdoing it on the stomach. There is live music sometimes adding an artistic atmosphere and I enjoy looking at the decorative walls and shelves. Definitely a place worth checking out for a cozy dinner with the fam or a group. read more

As a local, I somehow have not had much experience with the London Bridge Pub. We met up with our grandson a week ago at London Bridge before he heads to university and it was a revelation for me - why haven't we eaten here in years? There is a wonderful outdoor, patio with heaters if needed, right next to the harbor. We were seated right away and service was swift and friendly. We ordered the fish and chips - of course! And in less than 15 minutes, plates piled high with perfectly deep fried fish, fresh-tasting coleslaw and "chips", which - to be honest - were only ok. But the fish was fantastic (I like mine with malt vinegar, and I was so glad it was offered). Prices were reasonable, too! We'll be back soon! read more

A short walk from the pier, this restaurant is exactly what you want a restaurant by the ocean to look like. Wooden captain statues, ship steering wheels, rope and everything else to set sail. We only had interaction with on of the staff, she seated us and took our order. Very nice and did well for being busy. I had the fish and chips, menu said "award winning" It was good, came with steak cut fries. Daughter had clam chowder in the bread bowl. I had a spoon full and the flavor was really good. She eat all the soup! Wife had BLAT bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwich. No clue if it was good, she took that thing down fast. Great view of all the boats in the harbor, sea lions talking in back ground. We sat on patio and they have heaters and fire pits to stay warm. They did a great job blocking the wind. I rarely get over here and it is a slice of heaven for a good fish & chips. The portion was large and hearty. I need remember that this is a great spot to drop in and grab a quick bite instead of hanging around downtown Monterey. I was promptly seated near a window to watch the tourists and boats. The server recommended several dishes, though I settled on the iconic fish & chips plate. It came with a large deep fried cod that was perfectly fried and opened up to tender fish. The fries helped in quashing the black and tan beer (Guiness and Bass Ale). The cole slaw was refreshing and hit the spot. The have a large dining room and a small patio outside. I went here when I was in Monterey for a group dinner. I did think the place was very amenable to having a large group and letting us move tables around and do separate checks. The service seemed a little harried with the large number of people who were ordering food. Also the food came out pretty quickly. The food itself was pretty average to mediocre. I was a bit dismayed how quickly my fish and chips came out because it made me think it was made ahead of time and not to order. The taste was pretty good but definitely nothing to write home about. I do think if I had been drinking alcohol I might have enjoyed it more - kind of my usual thought of bar/restaurants that the food is made to encourage you to drink more! My mom said the bean burger was just okay. The portions are pretty large. It's probably an indicator that the parking lot nearby was full and I saw people waiting to get into the upstairs restaurant, but this spot was relatively empty! read more

We ordered clam chowder (warm at best and watery) , fish and chips (too much batter and greasy) chicken pot pie (dough was too tough to cut) , the wedge salad (fake bacon) salmon dinner which was the best of all but frozen veges) drinks, which were weak and unflavored. The ambience was ok but the vibe wasn't very professional overall. When both clam chowders were removed from the table with two bowls r three hits taken, the waiter made no attempt to ask why or replace but took them away quickly. We went there with a group of nine people. It was a Thursday night and it was not too busy. The food was above average and a little expensive. The service though was terrible, the waitress took the drink order and then disappeared for awhile. After placing our food order, the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. After giving us our food she disappeared again. No checking in to see if we needed anything or to see if the food was to our liking. We had to go and ask for our check and that also took a long time. A huge shout out to our server Madison. On this lovely afternoon in Monterey with my mom and twin sister she made our dining experience so lovely. Friendly and just the right amount of talkative for us. My mom and sister and I were long overdue for a visit so we were a bit rambunctious and happy to be together! Prices were high of course but this is Monterey and well we all know the world is crazy right now. Between the three of us it was perfect to share two entrees. Plenty of food for the three of us. The wedge salad is a fun simple salad to order out. Crisp iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing, blue cheese crumbles and of course bacon. Adding a few dices of fresh tomatoes and it was perfect. I did not try the chowder but Mom and Twin said it was good. The fish was the star. A large piece of white fish, we think cod, and a not to thick batter. Hot and crispy. French fries cooked perfectly too. We all agreed that the coleslaw was probably not made in house but it was a good side of coolness sided with the hot fish and fries. Large parking lot here. The food was what I looked forward to however, the popular items I got were very bland with the lightest seasoning I've ever had here in town. Even the BLT my family members had were very dry and had no mayo. The mashed potatoes were a good texture but had no seasoning. The gravy was okay but I definitely expected more flavor. The steamed veggies were not cooked enough and were also very bland. We happened to come in on trivia night, so hearing the the loud speaker constantly calling out trivia questions was a bit annoying but, that was not a deal breaker for me. Another thing I didn't really appreciate was that they don't give military discount and this restaurant is within earshot of the base. Ambience is very good, especially right on the water next to the boat docs, service was great, we got the fish and chips and they were legit but for $25 I think there could've been more fish. I was hungry so I felt like I ate the fish in about four bites, but it was fresh and the batter was nice and crispy. Overall, I would recommend but I do think they could add about 50% more fish for a $25 fish and chips plate but it's pretty cool that it comes with some coleslaw and the fries were good. Understandably it's in Monterey, which is a touristy area so things are expensive. read more

We went for drink happy hour and warm, enticing fire place. Upon arrival... Pros: 1) staff was very nice. We got seated right away. 2) server is so sweet and nice. She took our drink orders and food orders. She had so much patience with us. 3) foods were okay. Clam chowder was ok. 4) they have a bar, seating inside and seating outside. Cons: 1) none. Conclusion: Cute little pub. Nice to hang out and drink at the warf. Staffs were nice. The fire place on top of the table was pretty nice. They use the empty 6 pack beer bottle box as a ketchup/mustard holder. Creative to reuse things. I liked that. I like this little pub. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! The service was the absolute worst and I regret not walking out! Walking in the whole vibe of the place was uncomfortable and not welcoming at all. Our server barely spoke to us and greeted us by saying "drinks?" And nothing else and walked away silently after we ordered and didn't say anything else the entire time.
