I used to go to chop shop nail salons for acrylics, but I struggled finding a good salon. I like my nails to look perfect, but all other salons I went to would leave my nails with air bubbles, lint, or just didn't meet my standards when it came to nail art. I pay attention to the details when it comes to my nails. I had a bad experience with my last salon and decided to try somewhere new. I discovered Tips & Toes on Instagram and haven't looked back. I've been going to Annette since August 2022. I did my research on their policies, how to receive a quote, etc. so I was prepared. I had never gotten Gel X but they were helpful in educating me. I was immediately impressed with their customer service. Even though it was my first time meeting Annette & Monique, talking to them was like talking to friends I've known for years. Coincidentally, I had booked my appt at the same time as a friend from high school (who was a regular with them) so it made it easier to break the ice and talk the entire time. Made my appt go by so quickly! Their quality of work is 10/10. Annette takes her time with me and makes sure everything is to my liking. I love that they offer a custom nude base for each customer, and that they mix colors to find the perfect match. The attention to detail was a dealbreaker for me, and Tips & Toes met that standard! When I book an appt with them, I know I am receiving their BEST work and I will be happy with the outcome every time. I see them every 4 weeks now! PS I had broken my toenail on my big toe the other week and Liz repaired it with Gel X, which I had never heard about! Just in time because I wanted to wear open toed heels for Valentine's Day. I can't thank her enough -- my toes are so cute now!!
Found this hidden gem back in 2020 and have been coming every three weeks ever since for my Gel X w/design and Pedicure with 2 Gel X toe nails. Everyone is so detailed oriented and take pride for their work. I've never walked out with an air bubble or a slanted nail. Each nail tech is down to earth and easy to talk to. Annette is like my therapist. Poor woman gets an earful every time I walk in Keep in mind you get what you pay for. Not the cheapest but definitely the best in town. You get the value of what you pay for. I have referred several of my friends and they keep going back. They are busy, so make sure to book in advance and keep in mind you can't do both your pedi and Gel X at the same time so plan accordingly. Alright well allow me to bless you with my beauties. I found Tips and Toes while scrolling through Instagram looking for nail inspo! The girls make things super easy by scheduling ahead of time via IG with the date, nail tech and specific details about the nails you want so there's no confusion and they even provide you with a quote. As a content creator, Gel-X is the best option for me because they're durable and consistent! The nail application, cuticles and art here are hands down the best in OC. I always receive compliments on my frenchies that these girls are known for perfecting. My nails usually last 3 weeks before I schedule another appointment because the retention! I could probably stretch them to 4 weeks but my nails underneath stay so healthy that they grow out and I need a new set. They have Japanese gels and pretty much any color you can dream of for custom nail art. The best part is that Annette and Mo can give you color recommendations to compliment your skin tone or inspo photos. My go-to is usually a nude/pink base mix, hi-smile white frenchie tips with Almond Short length. The vibes here are always good and they always make me feel comfortable whenever I come in the salon. It feels like I'm catching up with friends!
Highlights: Parking is a little limited because it's a small plaza so carpool or get dropped off. If you want specific nail designs make sure you ask for Mo. Service: I've gotten my nails done by Leslie twice now and she's my new go to. She tries real hard to make sure it's pretty and perfectly painted and shaped. For a gel "spa" pedi and a gel regular mani it was $59. Bottom line: The salon itself is super cute and clean. I love how everyone here is super friendly. They usually can seat walk ins but I suggest appointments. It's super easy to do so on Yelp and they even have a Venmo.
I would never go back to acrylic nails . I had tried gelx before but wasn't happy with it I found tips and toes on instagram and felt in love with their designs . I made the appointment on instagram ( I slide into their DMs ) the girls were super helpful and nice , I've had my nails done by both Mo and Annette. And I've have absolutely love them every single time ! I've had simple and very intricate designs and they have always accommodate me with the designs . I get my pedis here too and my feet always feels so soft afterwards! Best Gelx salon !
I found them through IG and DM-ed them to schedule an appointment. They were super responsive to all of my questions even though they were on vacation. I appreciate that they tell you the price when you book so you know what to expect as well. Ken did my nails (Gel X, single color, no design, short almond shape filed down). He was awesome! He made sure everything looked how I wanted it to every single step of the way on every single nail. My Gel X extensions lasted me 3+ weeks before I finally broke a nail. That's a week of vacation + two weeks of work. I'm a dental hygienist and I have to work with my hands all day. I was very rough with them and was surprised they lasted me that long. I'm 100% sure they will last everyone else much longer, assuming you follow their care instructions. Let me repeat that. I did 0 things to ensure my nails would last beyond the 1st week and they still lasted for 3 weeks. I would highly recommend them!
I came in today for my girlfriend to get her nails done. Here's her review: I came in at 10:00 am to get my first set of Gel-X nails with Monique! My nails were pretty busted cause my previous tech made so many dents on my nails :( Monique was really nice and took her time with my nails! I never felt like she was rushing or anything. She asked every step of the way if I was liking how they looked! I loveeeee how she did the rose quartz design on my nails. So pretty and pink! I'm so excited for my next set!!
This review is for Liz for a pedicure service on 06/28. Well... I wasn't expecting to have such a negative experience, given that that their instagram promoted really promising work. It could be that I came in for a pedicure instead of gel-x/manicure with their head artists? Anyways, I believe the person that worked on my toes was Liz? Long story short, I came in to try out gel-x on my big toe because a while back I had injured my foot and as a result, one of my big toe is still playing catch up with my other one. Anyways, not sure if it was a bad day for the technician today because she did not seem like she wanted to be there. I don't mind not having a conversation with the technician as they're working, but she did not ask me how I wanted my toes (ex. length, if I wanted it cut, etc.) besides whet color I wanted. So... she proceeds to cut my toe nails, which shouldn't be a big issue if she's evening it out, but basically she cuts all my nails short and when she proceeds to file my nails, she filed one of them too much because it started to sting... After the gel-x application on my big toes, she proceeds to just cut the length and after she cuts it, she asks "does this look okay?" -- well at this point there's no really going back so I just said that it was (right foot). She moves onto the other toe and at this point the left foot's toe nail was slightly longer and I actually liked the look of it so I asked her if we can make the right foot like it -- basically she said no, she can only make the left toe shorter to match the right, which I didn't like or have a say in how long I wanted it... By this point, I'm kinda over it because I genuinely just don't like them and I'm disappointed in the service/quality because again, their instagram work looked really really promising, sigh. On a final note, I'm pretty sure my two big toes are uneven (will post pictures), which is ironic because she told me that I should get gel-x extension on both big toes to make them more aesthetically pleasing/even... yet they're uneven?! I just settled with regular polish instead of gel because I'm just not a fan. At the end, she doesn't even tell me that she's done with the service, just proceeds to mop and goes on her phone? Idk... most places typically help me put on my flip flops if I get regular polish, but no surprises at this point. I literally had to ask her if we were done for her to offer me if I needed help with my flip flops Mind you, my toes are just mid... but with the injury, I just wanted them to end up even? Can't say how their manicures are, but HIGHLY would not recommend pedicures. My total was $40. Not sure how it added up to $40 because I booked an apt for the spa pedicure ($25) and I was quoted that each gel-x extension will be $7 ($14 total for both toes... 25+14 = $39?
I have been going for a while now ! I never go to nail salons to do my nails, but TIPS & TOES is the place I would only go to get my nails done ! They are run by two sisters Annette and Monique ! And they are absolutely fun to sit and chat with when getting your nails done ! Love the vibes and energy! Please go and follow them on Instagram. They update everyday on their schedules and designs that they do on their clients ! DM them on Instagram to get an appointment and note that there is a $25 fee deposit and you'll get the refund at the end of the day when you are done with your appointment ! It is pricey, but they do put time into the designs that their clients want ! You won't be disappointed!
I've been getting my nails done by Mo for over a year now and it's clear the work is consistently great quality! Appointments are so easy to schedule and you get peace of mind during the scheduling process because policies and pricing are detailed and transparent. The ladies here are so talented and make the experience great. Don't hesitate and make your appointment, you won't regret it!
Is there any way to give Tips & Toes more stars? I was devastated to find out that my nail salon in Buena Park had went out of business this past summer. I was desperately searching for an alternative place, doing my research, when I came across Tips & Toes Instagram page. If you have not checked out their IG, you need to: NOW! They are incredibly active, post quality pictures, are up to date on all the best trends, professional, organized, and SO easy to communicate with. I was blown away by their story posts, informational posts, and detail oriented services. I immediately had to reach out to set my first appointment. Monique (Mo) was my, and is currently, my nail salon artist. She's HANDS DOWN the best of the best. The way she intricately checks each finger and speeds through my sets each time I go, shows her extreme expertise and reliable experience. I LOVE the way she handles my hands and is SO comfortable when doing my nails. You can probably tell in 2 mins or less how great she is. I've been getting my nails done since June and will never go to any other nail salon. I get a compliment on my nails almost every time I go out. I literally have given their business card to an In-n-Out employee because we had a full on conversation at the drive-thru about how she loved my nails. In addition to the amazing appearance, their gel-x extension application is also HANDS DOWN the best quality you will ever get. My nails always last a month, MINIMUM, with no chips, lifts or fade aways. I was so impressed by the quality and have continued to stay impressed. My nails even lasted an entire month while I lifted furniture and boxes while I moved. Finally, the workers and owners are just sweet. I love how Liz has a warm persona, Mo exerts confidence and joy, and Annette is so approachable and professional! Ken is also very careful whenever he does all my pedis. 5 star experience, quality, professionalism, kindness, and appearance. Thank you for always being the best!
Tips & Toes make all your nail dreams come true!! Been going here for almost a year and I've become obsessed! I get so many compliments on my nails wherever I go. Obviously they take Covid seriously using proper procedure, washing hands, taking temperatures, and having sneeze guards set up. Monique always does an amazing job on every set and literally makes all my inspo nails come to life! Definitely have recommended Monique and Annette to all my ladies who are interested in Gel X !
Gel-x!!!! I love getting gel-x done here. Annette does mine and she is wonderful. She is extremely sweet and applies Gel-x the best! Never have had chips/nail lift/any issues whatsoever with application. She knows exactly how I like to get them done The whole team is very kind and welcoming. They take precaution with COVID-19. Hand wash. Temp check. Poly screens. Masks required! Highly recommend anyone who is looking for a nail place.
I went in for a deluxe pedi and gel mani on a Wednesday afternoon. They have the deluxe pedi going on for $20 (reg $25) on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday (closed Monday). Omg the deluxe pedi was such a treat and I definitely will be going back just for this in the future. It included a foot soak, rub, scrub, etc. Everything they used seemed clean and new which is a huge deal for me. Monique did my gel mani and she was so meticulous in cutting, filing and painting my nails. It came out very smooth and nicely painted. My nails are really small so it can sometimes be hard to work with but she took her time and even gave me three thin coats. This was $23. Hands down the best nail place in OC. I'm very picky when it come to my nails so when you find a place that meets your standards with excellent service you can never leave! I've been getting acrylics my whole life and let me tell you....Gel X is life changing! I am very rough with my nails and 4 weeks in, and my nails didn't even lift! My nails are so much healthier and look amazing. The owners are AWESOME! I love the quick response each time I book my appointments. Monique & Annette's technique when it comes to nail art is incredible! There nothing they can't do! I've been here for months and I leave feeling fabulous every time! Tips and Toes is fantastic all around. We've gone there several times and had great girl dad moments. They treat my kid and I so good and they even know her by name. That type of customer service and hospitality has never been lost even durning this pandemic! These ladies are good people and amazing at their skill set. I have been to so many places, I seriously had thought I found the next best thing and was happy to see that this "gel x" was going to "last long" and was the "best thing for my nails"...I'm a mom of two and do clerical work. I was expecting to get my nails done twice a month..... but of course I ALWAYS have to have something happen to me! I had scheduled an appointment but they tExted me to move it to a different time. Accepted it. I got there, last one there. Got Matt & coffin w/ design.I did feel like Monique was in a rush but let it be. Got home.... noticed middle finger had a line and just looked layered. This only lasted two weeks! My pinky nail popped off. There was no "trauma ", this is why I stated my job title. I sent them a message and they said how they would wave tthe $10 fee "this one time". ?! To remove the nails...Keep wondering if I would've still had to pay for the full set..... I was seriously so so so upset this didn't workout for me, I know other people will have better experiences but just keep in mind, it's NOT the next best thing, it wasn't for me...... Btw we didn't have a lot oF conversations just about how my nails didn't last and what I would be able to do at home tO remove it myselff, so please donT make it seem like you were so worried about what happened, I have the right to tell my experience and that's all I'm doing, heads up for the next girl.... thank uuuuu read more

So this post is way overdue! A few years ago I was recommended this place by a friend, and decided to give it a try for my high school graduation. The appointment process was super easy and I was booked for the next day. Going in, I had never previously had my nails done before, so it was a whole new experience for me. Everyone there was super nice and patient in explaining things to me, and after a little convincing I decided to go with a gel x set. I showed them the inspo pic, and they recreated it perfectly! I remember getting plenty of comments on my graduation and I was super happy. Only downside was that the length was personally not my favorite. Not their fault at all, it was just something I discovered after I got them on as a personal preference which I don't think I would've known unless I tried them. After I learned fake nails weren't really my style, I went back this past year to get just a gel manicure. The appointment process was a little bit more difficult, but that's to be expected since they've gotten a lot more popular recently and have a tight schedule + covid. I went during the evening, and the atmosphere was light-hearted and very welcoming. I was a little intimidated since it was just my second time, but a lady who was a regular customer there sat next to me (safely distanced of course) and included me in all their conversations the whole time, so it was very nice! And again, they were super nice in answering all my questions, as they could tell I wasn't very familiar with everything. Plus they recreated my nails perfectly again! And I liked the length and everything as well! About it being pricey, I'm not too sure since I have nothing to compare it off of, but keep in mind they're not just selling their services, but a whole package. Ambience, customer satisfaction, personality, comfortability, everything. And for that, I believe it is worth it's high dollar since they do it so well. I will definitely be going back there once I've become brave enough to have my nails done again haha. I just wanted to share the great experiences I've had that I've prolonged for so long. Tips & Toes have been amazing from the beginning and the quality is truly first class! From scheduling your appointment to the day of your appointment everything is detailed and you know what to expect. This was my first time with Gel-X and they explain the process & care thoroughly with you. You can show them any inspiration & they are able to create it. Mo's attention to detail is amazing. I recommend this place to everyone! Annette and Monique are AMAZING! The whole experience is great from making the appointment to the finish product. I'm huge on looking up designs and I've never found a place before that can accurately create the designs every time, but Tips & Toes is amazing! Not only are my nails perfect every time I leave, but the ladies make sure you're comfortable the whole time. I was referred by a friend to try this place and was worried going in because I struggle with acrylics. Acrylics always hurt my fingers. I AM OBSESSED with my gel x set. Its so lightweight and I don't even notice then. The process was so much better then any nail extension I've done. I will be going back as a regular. I love the designs and the atmosphere. I just moved into the area and was looking for a spot nearby to become my new favorite. I was so lucky to find this salon! I've had a full set gel manicure and a gel pedicure, I've been back twice already within a month. They have spa chairs, TVs which usually have a cooking show on and a huge selection of nail colors. My most recent visit, I was inspired by their Halloween designs and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I'd definitely recommend this salon! read more

10000% SATISFIED! I can NOT get over the fact how I am so obsessed with Tips & Toes.. This is actually not my first time here, I have already made few scheduled appointments with them in the past and im sorry to make this review late but I have actually been recommending this nail salon to many of my cousins!! We love how friendly and welcoming these girls are and the staff. Annette & Mo are amazing and patient with what we want and they really know how to make you feel comfortable! The other times I wasn't able to write up a review because I wanted to add a photo along with it and I didn't have any however! The last set of Gel X nails Mo did for me were very simple and cute, which I am all for! Mo and Annette works very gentle on your hands and they take their time , which slowly kind of adds up into other peoples timed appointments however it means they are very thorough with their work! Amazing is all I can think of :) Been waiting for them to re-open business bc of COVID-19 and FINALLY !! I wanted my nails done for a trip I was going on but absolutely hate acrylics. When I came across Tips & Toes and saw they had Gel-X, I wanted to give that a try. I showed a picture of what I wanted and they helped me pick a color that is similar. Monique was very kind and makes sure you are happy with your nails, and the appointment was faster than I was expecting. They always do an amazing job here! The designs always come out amazing and on point. You can check out the pictures to see. They not only care about the design of the nails but they also care about your nail health. They are very accommodating. My nail design took longer than expected one day and Thao and Mo stayed after closing to finish my nails! Everyone is so sweet. They're one of the only places in OC that do gel x nails. The price is definitely worth the work and detail they put into your nails. read more

I love this salon! Literally drive 30 mins out of the way just to get my nails done here! I usually get my nails done by Monique but I've had my nails done by Caroline too and both are great! They are really detail oriented and do the prettiest designs! It's very affordable too! My gel manis w/design always come out to be around $30! read more

Tips & toes is amazing! I came to them and they changed my world about nails. I've went from 3 years of strictly acrylics to solely Gel X and my nails are healthier than ever. I've had Annette, Monique, and Thao and they are all amazing and know what they are doing. All of them are super friendly and professional. I am usually a plain just polish type due to my job, but their freehand designs are beautiful! I've tried other gel x salons and the sets don't last as long as they did before. The shop is in a little plaza, so just be aware parking might get full sometimes and always call to make an appointment cause the shop always has people. Ive never had to wait too long as long as I had an appointment and the girls will always let you know if there's something wrong with the schedule. Tips and toes is always my go-to! read more

I just went to this salon for the first time and it was a great experience! The salon itself is cute and decorated nicely and I was helped right away. My nail tech was Monique and she did coffin gel X nails for me, which I've never done until visiting Tips & Toes. Monique also helped me choose a color that would go with the gold flakes and we chose a pretty shimmery gold nail polish. Gel X is really nice and so much lighter compared to acrylics and the process of putting them on is much faster than acrylics. I would definitely get gel X again even though it costs more than normal acrylics-- it's definitely worth it! Can't wait to come back again for a new set of nails once my current ones grow out! read more

I am so on love with my nails! I mean look how cute they are!! Insert all the heart eyes here. Got the Best pedicure by Liz and Gel X set by Annette! She did an amazing job on shaping it to my nails and with the design! I appreciate their hard work and talent so much and they're all amazing and friendly! & Let me tell you that despite everything going on in the world I had the best experience at Tips&Toes! I arrived to the location, Liz had me wash my hands, checked my temperature and everyone wore a mask. The location was so clean and after every appointment they wipe down and clean! Updating my review!! Ever since I found out about GELX I've been obsessed. My nail tech Monique did an amazing job. My set is still fresh and not one finger nail has lifted! I'm at 4 weeks already so you know the quality is bomb. My nails are actually stronger than before as well and Monique does minimal filing which helps my nails a lot because they're thin. Soooo happy ever since I switched over to GELX they are stronger and don't break. The salon is also very clean! It's not your typical nail salon where all the asian ladies talk shit about you so you feel very welcomed. I would recommend this place! read more

Here to update my review AGAIN bc if I could give these girls 10 stars I would!!! 3 years later and I am still in love with this salon and I haven't been anywhere else since I first found them. MONIQUE is my GOAT and the best nail tech I have ever had. Her technique and attention to detail is unmatched. As you can see in my pictures attached, the quality only gets better. I've had my nails done by KEN as well and he is so gentle and detailed, highly recommend him for simple and solid colored sets! I've also had ANNETTE as my tech and she is also very gentle, technique on point and detail oriented as well. Not to mention she is the salon manager! Do you know how busy this nail shop is? I have seen her stop what she's doing to accommodate a client trying to book an appointment, then get right back to slaying a set without skipping a beat. I have never, not even once, experienced a moment where they don't go above and beyond to accommodate their clients. The quality in their work speaks for themselves, but the care they put into their work and their clients is what sets them apart. You just have to stay on top of scheduling, otherwise it can be hard to get in because they are THAT GOOD. Don't sleep on them!!! read more

I was searching high and low for a nail salon that offers gel x in the Orange County area when I found Tips & Toes. After looking through their Yelp and Instagram photos I booked an appointment pretty much same day with Monique and I'm SO glad I did because now I've found my new nail salon and tech! I get so many compliments on my nails now! Everyone here is so friendly and the cost is definitely reasonable for the quality of work Monique does. Ok my experience with Tips & Toes was great, except for one part. I called to make an appointment the same day and they are able to fit me in, great! The woman that spoke to me on the phone was polite and I was able to understand her clearly, great! Came in five minutes before the appointment and was seated right away, great! They had a discount going on for the deluxe pedicure, so I chose the deluxe pedicure/gel manicure. Costing me $53, great! The deluxe pedicure was done by a kind woman, didn't get her name but she did an amazing job on my feet and they felt so soft, great! So the not great part? The girl who did my nails accidentally cut while cutting my cuticles, which is ok, we are human. Blood was getting all over my new color. I looked at her to see if she noticed she didn't, I had to ask her to get me something to wipe up my cut.... she gave me a napkin and then left. Didn't say anything. So I mentioned it again, because I realized she cut my finger. She put of drop of something and said it's suppose to clean the cut BURN OUCH. The thing that got me was she never said sorry! She did say that it's because I have thin skin.... Overall good experience, just wished she would of apologized. read more

I'm so bad at getting my nails done.. always forget to make appointments or go get them done (I know, I'm that bad) but Annette is so nice she always goes out of her way to accept me last minute so my nails can be pretty again. Love this place and I only trust them when it comes to gel X. They listen to your needs and also throw in some ideas or expert opinions about what will look nice or what colors go together.. 5 stars! read more

I'm not exaggerating when I say every person at Tips and Toes puts in 110 percent in their work! They take the time and energy to make sure you're totally satisfied AND safe! Appointments fill up quick...so if you're consistent with nail care, this crew is DEFINITELY worth the wait! They're super diligent with answering DM's on Instagram, which is super helpful. And they'll always send you a reminder text! Personally, I see Monique for my Gel-X needs and she never ceases to amaze me! She never pressures me when I'm indecisive and always provides quality work AND designs. I basically left my last few sets in her hands and was left speechless... Long story short, the Tips and Toes family is the best place for your nail needs. And believe me, you'll definitely feel like family after your experience! read more

Great first experience! Will definitely be coming back. They have an array of nail polishs, from gel to hologram and chrome! My friend suggested we give this place a try after seeing the reviews and pictures on Yelp. I got the Gel Polish Manicure while my friend went for the Deluxe Pedicure and full set of Pink and White Powder. My manicurist, Cindy, was wonderful! Very attentive, precise, and sweet. I had two broken nails and had those lengthened for $3 each, and $2 for a powder seal for a chipped nail. I also chose the hologram gel polish for an additional $12 - absolutely worth it! I love the outcome. My nails look gorgeous with the oval shape Cindy suggested. She also reshaped my friend's nail as she's wasn't quite happy with the way her manicurist filed one of her nails. As for my friend, she was very pleased with the overall experience. She said her pedicurist was sweet and gentle during her massage and scrub. My friend also got the French tips for an extra $5. In total, mine was $43 and hers was $60 including a $5 discount on her pedicure. Overall, excellent service. We loved are nails are definitely coming back! read more

Monique!!!! I can't thank you enough I booked an appointment here after black file nails was fully booked! I called in two days prior to book the appointment. I was introduced to GelX and was directed to also look at their instagram. They were extremely helpful and also talked to you as if you were a friend so it made you feel more comfortable. While she started my nails, my acrylics (from past salons) ruined my natural nail bed and was extremely hard to get off. She removed my acrylics the correct way, instead of ripping them off. I had made a mistake with timing and had to step out multiple times which they were really nice about. She took her time and didn't rush through my nails. and LET ME TELL YOU! Their selection of glitters,colors,flowers,art stickers, and diamonds are endless! The inside is really modern and minimalistic compared to the location. It's almost unbelievable how nice everyone is. My nails ended up so good! I've gotten so many compliments already. The GelX is super light weight and really thin, almost like you have nothing on! The flowers and gold looked really nice with each other. I feel so bad cause at the end I only had a couple dollars to tip her but i'll be back for sure when i'm back in the area!! read more

How much for only gel polish and nail cutting?
Gel polish is $12. If you need a gel removal $3 and light filing/reshaping $3. Total would be $18 for gel polish change.
How much is it for a gel x set medium length and a gel pedicure?
Gel X Medium is $55. Pedicures are $17/$25/$35 and to add gel polish would be an additional $12. If we need to remove any previous gel, additional fees apply.
