After two days two of my nails were pealing so I came back in to get them fixed. After four more days they have pealed again. The quality of the manicure is just not good. What a fun place. I came to this mail salon because it was next to the Farmers Market, Seven Leaves, Huckleberry Sandwiches, and Fuji Burger. What a great little shopping center. Jenny was my nail specialist. There is plenty of parking in the front and the salon is spacious and clean. I picked out my nail color and she sat me in this big massage chair. Jenny put a cover over the foot massage area and off to relaxation. Her sister offered me bottled water and chocolate truffles. I was so relaxed I took a nap. The massage chair was great and she also massaged my legs and arms. I really enjoyed the whole experience here. If you need a mani pedi this is the place! I will be back soon I promise. I wasn't very impressed with my manicure. I was excited to come try this place to get this design I screenshot on my phone. There was barely any paint selections...so I opted out of even trying to get predetermined nail design. I wished the employee was just more proactive with my needs. I choose a simpler color because that was the only choice I had. Even the color I chose was running out of paint. I had to recheck my nails to the parts that she missed paint or smudge. Vu is definitely as good as it gets when giving you the perfectly shaped pink & white tip "french" nails. Using his patented design for silk wraps, I am sold as a lifetime "silk wrapper". Never again will I let anyone else touch my nails with pink & white acrylic. With the silk wraps, you get the most natural looking nails without it feeling like you've got cement caked on your fingertips. And lucky for me, finding this place through these high Yelp reviews, I found Vu to be the nail genius to give me this look! (And no, he did not pay me to write this review...he just didn't charge me an arm and a leg to give me the best nails I've ever had!). I was so happy and pleased with my nails that I posted the two photos of my nails as proof (the first ones to be posted online for his business) and because I wanted to share with the rest of the world what a gem this place is in OC! The previous nail salon I went to (before Model Nails) did a shotty job on my silk wraps b/c it only lasted 1 1/2 weeks before the white tips started chipping away. I was bummed and begrudgingly thought I'd had to go back to acrylics. But lucky for me, I found Vu. He explained to me that the Vegas nail tech cheated on my nails by using cheap silk wrap materials (she only applied one silk wrap and then sprinkled some acrylic powder on it). He assured me that he will show me how it's correctly done...and he definitely didn't disappoint! He also offered to redo my nails if they didn't last for at least 3 weeks...now that's what I call a professional who has enough pride in his work to guarantee his product!!! I did not get a pedi this time around but according to what I observed on my first visit here, Kim and Tina did an excellent job on the other customers who were beaming with joy as they gazed at their "perfect" pedicures. Plus this place has loyal customers who have been coming for years and years (I believe some 10+ years). Now I will be another "loyal" customer coming back to Vu for years to come! I was sorely disappointed with the services I received here. After reading the reviews left on Yelp by others, I was thrilled to book my wedding party of five the day before I got married. I was disatisfied with the customer service as well as the nail service. I was looking for gel nail polish in order to maintain the natural polished look minus the chipping found in your standard polish. Vu did not give me any manicure services before he went directly into applying the gel. He gave me the wrong color, the gel was clumped up, uneven, and blatantly ugly. The worst part of the story was, they peeled right off (all 10 of them) THREE days later while I was on my honeymoon (they're supposed to last 2 weeks). I would've returned to have them fixed, but they were so poorly done the first time, it wasn't worth the effort. DO NOT come to this salon for Gel Nail Lacquer. read more

Yes Gawd! After living in the land of the fake for so long, I have forgotten what it's like to get your nails done for under $70. Let me tell you, it's fabulous. Gel Mani and a regular pedi, out the door for $40. I thought she was joking at first, but no, no jokes here. Just awesome nails at a great price. The woman who's name I forget :( did a wonderful job on my toes and helped me pick out a deep purple color. Never once did I feel anyone poke or pinch me. They also do some 3D Nail Art, I'm completely obsessed with, nothing to cray though. Nails should funky and functional. Did I mention I was a walk in at almost 10am? No? I really liked the ladies. They did a pretty good job. I've tried doing my sisters nails but it's hard because they have small nails so they have lots of patience. One lady I didn't get her name but she went above and beyond. My sister just asked for the color but she started doing little designs and didn't charge us extra. By far the worst nail job I have ever had. She did not take the time to properly file or trim the nail. Her technique was completely sloppy and she definitely didn't care about the quality of her work. I asked for coffin each nail is a different shape. I even asked her to fix them and make them more narrow and she still didn't. The paint is uneven on the cuticle area also. I love this nail shop! It's family run, and I rarely have an issue getting an appointment on the day I call. The prices are excellent and the service doesn't suffer, because the price is good. The nail work is well done and you always feel welcome. The parking lot isn't large, but I have never had a problem getting a spot. The only real drawback is that they are closed on Sunday and Monday. It's a great nail shop. Finally got some nail art done, and it was amazing! as i prepare for a weekend in vegas getting my nails done was part of my to do list. after reading all the reviews on yelp, i called to make an appointment. he said they closed at 7, but agreed to take me at 6:30. already, i was happy. i ended up making it there a little past 6, and vu got me right in and situated. i just wanted a simple full acrylic set. they also have the silk which apparently lasts longer, and is easier on the nails and better than gel. vu was busy tending to other ladies that were there before me so another man worked on me. he was very quiet, but attentive, and though he tried making conversation it was kinda difficult with the language barrier. the man did my nails perfectly and exactly the way i wanted. i also wanted to get leopard spots my 4th fingers, and vu had to take over. i showed him a photo of what i wanted and he explained they were stickers but he'd try his best to get me something similar, and he did. i LOVE it. for the full set plus the two designs it came out $25. i was surprised because i expected it to be more expensive, but definitely was not complaining. one thing i noticed is vu, who i am assuming is the owner, is very good at making you feel right at home. he's on a first name basis with everyone, and you can tell that he genuinely makes an effort to know his clients. all in all, i couldn't be more please. i will definitely be returning! read more

I came by today for a much needed mani/pedi to celebrate getting a new job! Based on the reviews and it being affordable I decided to stop in (side note: they are by a brand spankin' new dole whip store, must try... but I digress). I asked for a French tip gel manicure and spa pedicure. I was lucky enough to have two people working on my nails. The gentleman doing my nails did a very thorough job. He even triple checked to make sure my tips were perfect. Only minor thing was when my nails dried, my fingertips felt glued to my nails and I had to clean it up a bit. No biggie. The woman working on my toes was heaven sent. I received the longest massage that felt amazing, She did a beautiful job on my toes and was a joy to talk to. MY NEW NAIL SALON! First off, they have an excellent gel polish and regular polish selection. They Specialize in gels, with state of the art drying lights(other nail salons use $50 ones these are $500) as opposed to using UV rays like a tanning booth they are only there to dry the gel polish so it DOES NOT RUIN THE SKIN. As well as the application is amazing, my nails look like acrylics! I have gone to millions of nail salons and finally I find one where they piant my whole nail, shape it amazing andd finish in 40 min as opposed to 1.5 hours in most salons! Also the prices are AMAZZINGGG- gels-$25 $2 for french $5 for diamonds and sequins a pedicure with the works i mean paraffin and scrub and fancy nails would cost you around $30 The manicurists are super nice and friendly and make you feel right at home, no awkward moments at all!
