I came in for a gel mani pedi with high hopes. I wasn't entirely let down, but needless to say I spend almost two hours here, and have to go back for them to completely redo my nails. My toes look great, but my nails I am utterly disappointed in. Not only did she ruin my nails, but my cuticles as well. My nails are now extremely dry and looked worse than they did when I came in. It's extremely frustrating for me as someone who doesn't have time to waste. I came here to meet up with a friend who has been here several times. I trusted her recommendation but after this visit, I question her choices now lmao (Christine if you reading this, girl!!! You know I had to do this) Anyway I went to get a gel fill, my acrylic set has been growing without any breakage for 1 month exactly. My friend said the nail tech (Jessica) that will be working on my fill is really good. Long story short, she wasn't. I'm sorry Jessica, you're sweet but I think you just began your career as a nail tech, whereas I've had techs who worked on me with decades of experience under their belt. She was very shaky, her filing really hurt my nails (that weird vibrating sensation). She cut me several times and blamed the accident on me because "I tensed up" (what she said verbatim). Girl, I only tensed up AFTER you cut me and after you cut me several times that is. I had to direct her to file my nails evenly because if you compared them, they look all sorts of different shapes lol. Then at some point, I just realized that i don't care anymore and I just want the set to be done. Total, everything costed $28 (fill, gel, file down, shape), I tipped her a few bucks because I wasn't satisfied. She was nice and all but honestly, the amount I paid for the service, it wasn't worth it. I definitely will not come back. Sorry to Jessica, I'm sure you will get better but in the meanwhile, I'll just stick to my regular place. No hard feelings! Also, when I went, the shop was completely empty for 2 hours. Had great experience the first time (6/9) so I came back again (6/30) today. However, this time I felt that I am being overcharged. Yes, beware of hidden charges. Other nail shops that I have been to do not charge for shaping nails when you get a new set. Of course, new nails need to be filed & shaped so why the extra charges for coffin, which is the easiest to shape for a new set? They are already in coffin shape, just file and smooth everything out. And $20 for the most simple (3-petal flower) design is a bit too much. I liked my big toe nail flower design so I asked for the same for the 4 nails but Sammy gave me this 3-petal flower when another customer came in (I was the only one customer in the shop at the time but she wanted to move on to this new customer). I was not happy! I could do a better job than that. :( My suggestion for Polished Chic: "to give clients a breakdown of individual charges for transparency" Johnny did a good job with the pedicure. Total came out to $85 before tips. Yikes! Although I love Joy's work on the nails, not sure if I'll be back. read more

I am so glad yelp led me to this salon. The workers are very friendly and they do a great job. They also offer free complimentary beverages and the Vietnamese iced coffee is great. I got chrome gel nails and it's $30 and my regular pedicure is $15. Alex and Joy did my manicure and Sammy did my toes. Alex did the majority of my nails and he made sure to check every single nail after every single coat to make sure they were perfect. They also play great music. They have outlets for phone charging and purse holders by every chair. The outside of the store looks a bit sketchy but it is so clean and nice inside. They also aren't super busy like some of the other places, so they really take time to make sure you are treated well. They have a ton of colors to choose from, gel and regular. I just spent two hours of my time getting gel dip on my hands and just regular gel on my toes. When I first went in there Joy asked me what I wanted and I said that. About halfway through my toes were finished and I asked the girl if she did gel on them and she said no. When I was having a conversation to her about how I need gel on my toes because I wear work shoes and normal nail polish doesn't stay.... so instead of fixing my toenails the other lady wanted to just put a clear coat of Gel over it and half ass it. And I said no please do it the right way the way I asked for. So that happens my toes are fixed whatever, I pay for my gel dip on my hands and I pay for my toes and tip them each five dollars so I spent a total of $80 there. When I got out to my car I realize there was dried nail polish all over my hands, and under my nails, my finger nails look like they have thick little rocks on them and they don't even look like my nail shape. I liked the nail place and I would've gone back but Joy was very rude to me and told me I was too picky when all I wanted was a simple dip manicure. I would've came back another day and even have them fixed no problem. Not sure if the girl was new but I will not return to this place and I will continue to go to my nail place in Buena Park. I am now updating my review a day after. My left thumb nail has a huge bubble and it's already about to chip and it's only been a day. And my toenail is already chipping so they must I've not even put gel on them after i asked 3 times. The fact that i tipped them and paid for my toes makes me so upset. I've been to many nail salons before and this one is the BEST one by far. This place is a gem, and so is the staff. The ladies are talented, attentive and super friendly. They have a great selection of nail colors. They even give you complimentary water or Vietnamese coffee to sip on while you get pampered. I first came here with my girlfriend. We both got Christmas themed gel nail art done by Joy. Gel manicure was $15 and the nail art on both ring fingers were $7. I was so happy with the result, I had to come back, and I was not disappointed. I got a mani&pedi, and am extremely satisfied with the end product. This Place is Amazing! The prices are good ! Regular manicure with Gel is $20 and they give you a hand massage which feels amazing! My nail Tech SAMMY is so Nice and funny, she took her time to make my nails look perfect ! JOY is also very nice and patient she did the Marble Art on my ring fingers. Read on to find out about what a fun waste of time it was & walking out after being told they don't have the colors I want (coral or orange or pink that isn't 80's hot) and more!... After lots of searching for a nail salon that offers good ombre, I find this place (based off good reviews & pics). I call and receptionist, sorry to be mean but she was clueless. Didn't know the price for ombre nails. Told me conflicting info that they do dip powder, don't do dip powder, can do ombre, can't. I was confused and referenced all the pics I saw on Yelp. She tells me Joy can do ombre. I say okay great and make a same day appt. I park and see this is literally connected next door to a liquor store in a ghetto looking parking lot. It was clean inside, however. I tell Joy I want ombre. She says ok. Grabs some powder that is the closest they have to the pics I showed her. She tests one nail for me (which is a good practice I wish other salons would implement). Looks nothing like pics, then she tells me my natural nails should have dip powder but that she doesn't do that, only powder for acrylics and that they only do long nail (acrylics) with designs. We have a language barrier communication issue as I express my utter confusion after being told that what they said they could offer from our call can't actually be provided and she apologizes to me and says she can't do my nails. I've been going to Joy here for over a year now and let me just tell you that Joy is the best nail tech I have ever had. She keeps up to date with my life, she's super friendly and easy to talk to. I always get what I want for my nail designs, often times even better. It's hard to find a nail place where you feel at home, get what you want, receive outstanding service, and not being hurt by your nail tech. The ONLY reason why I'm giving this shop one star is because of the color selection and look of the shop. I used to really enjoy this shop because of how close it was to my house, but I will NEVER give this shop business again. The time before last I had a girl who TRASHED my nails. She was in such a rush with the filing that she chipped the end of the nail and broke the acrylic (which HURT). She ended up cutting my skin on another nail because of the same reason. To top it of my middle finger was so much more larger than the rest. After I left a nail chipped after ONE day. I ended up going back to another girl to fix it at the same shop, and gave her a tip because she did a good job and fixed the bubble nail. Because that was the first time I had an issue I decided to go back thinking it was just who I happened to get... of course with my luck I get the SAME girl. So after 2 hours she finally finished my nails and the polish and design looked great until I saw under and it was bumpy and sharp AGAIN. I also didn't asked for a shape change, she thought it would look better with a slight coffin and then charged me for it. I didn't even want a shape change, she made that decision! No clean up with the acrylic under the nail. And after two days of acrylic with gel it CHIPPED. I am the type to tip based of off the work done. A tip is earned not just automatic, so I still tipped her but not a lot. She's lucky I even tipped her after the first time she did my nails AND still messed them up the second time. I decided to go back for a pedicure because it's not something you can really mess up and it was the closest option. As I'm waiting I'm listening to the owner complain to a customer about how I tip. I sat and listened to her explain to the girls on how her employee worked on me for two hours and barley tipped her. How people should tip because of the work they put in. Maybe you should check with the customer on why the tip was small before you go running your mouth in front of me. I didn't tip because although she spent a lot of time, it was the second time that it was overall BAD. I ended up leaving and decided I should finally write a review. Pretty rude to talk about another customer when you don't even know the work your own employee did. I wasn't going to write a poor review but I guess I should justify why I "tip poorly". In the pictures below you will see the HORRIBLE middle finger along with the skin she ripped, the horrible clean up under the nail, AND the chip from my new set which was taken two days after they were done. Especially when you have gel WITH acrylic they shouldn't chip after a short amount of time. I've had my nails last for weeks with not even a chip. Don't waste your money here! read more
