My car was STOLEN and towed to Tip Tow. They were not forthcoming about their charges. I was told I would have to pay $295 to get my recovered car off their lot which is absolutely absurd because it was STOLEN from me!! I had to fly from Houston to Austin to be able to get my car. When I showed up, I was told the charge was $365! My car was charged storage fees AND a $50 letter notification fee. I never even got a letter!! The receptionist told me it was her fault that I was charged the fees but refused to take them off. As if having my car stolen wasn't bad enough, this company managed to add insult to injury. I love supporting local businesses, but this company is nothing but a bunch of money hungry low life's who lie and deceive in order to line their pockets. 01/04/2022 Update - While at dinner in Germany tonight FOR WORK, I received a phone call from the business owner in regard to my review. I told him I was at dinner. He admitted his sole purpose for calling was my negative review. His receptionist supposedly asked him to contact me prior to me flying to Austin to get an Uber to pick up my STOLEN car which apparently was too inconvenient for him to do. Can you imagine how much my bill for my STOLEN car would have been if I hadn't picked it up from these greedy thieves (in their own right) prior to my work trip?!? I am a government contractor. Called late on a Friday and Juanita answered. I had called a couple of weeks earlier and she was just as pleasant as now. She got me in touch with George who stayed in comms with me from the time he got the call until the time we met at the body shop. Poor guy even had to squeeeeeze to get to my car's hood & battery - thanks to my super tiny one car garage. Instead of complaining, he shrugged it off as "just another service challenge". He also didn't try to pressure me to purchase a $160.00 AAA battery. Instead, he gave me his honest opinion regarding my next best steps. Update: As I said in my previous review, these are the only people I will call to tow me, unless I happen to break down in Saskatchewan and I couldn't expect them to schlepp out to Saskatchewan to drag my sorry butt home! I got stuck in the driveway of my pet sitter (Furry Family Nanny....review forthcoming... she is fabulous!!!!), and when I say TipTow was out to get me (way out near the GT airport) in a flash, I'm not exaggerating. That's why I put them in my phone-- I will always call them if I get stuck. This time Jason took care of me, and he was super! He treated my 13 yr old car like it was right off the showroom floor, and he had a calm, comforting presence. He brought it to to my mechanic (GT Interstate Transmission, updated review forthcoming... they are terrific!!! does it feel like I'm writing a web of connected reviews, hah?) and Jason was so patient with my convoluted instructions about my car needing two keys and to let them know at the shop (one key for ignition, which was stuck in ignition, wouldn't turn on, and another for door) and I just really appreciate that so much. And Jason took care of the AAA part, too. All I had to do was stand there and watch, probably unhelpfully. I hate when my car doesn't just git up and go the way I want it to (but what can I expect, right? It's 13!), but these guys make getting towed a pleasure when you hafta get towed. A super duper freaking flat!!! Chris and Shaun arrived after communicating their whereabouts and promptly gave me my options (air up and head to the nearest tire shop or use a donut and head to the nearest tire shop). I opt'd for the air and go. I give them 10 stars for their professionalism, speed and ability to speak in layman's terms regarding the screw pleasantly placed in the tread of my semi new tire. Cleaning out my desk and found a business card from Tip Tow...which I had the unfortunate pleasure of encountering a few months back. The card brought back bad memories! If there was a 0 star option, I'd throw it towards "Trey" and his crack squad of incompetent workers. Story: My car broke down around 10pm on a Tuesday night (not busy) less than a mile from their shop on hwy 35. I called into Jeep who put me in touch with these jokers. 2.5 HOURS later their driver figured out where I was. 4 phone calls. I'm very patient, but wow. I could've pushed my car there faster...probably should have...or just pushed it all the way back to Austin as that wouldve saved time and frustration. So they put my car on the tow and drive me to the shop. As we're pulling in, the dude driving tells me to get my stuff out of the Jeep...so I hop up there and do so, only to have "Trey" come out of the building screaming at the top of his lungs to "get the F down from the car" and how if I got hurt I could sue him. Fine...relax bro. Then I find out they can't tow me to my house, about 20 miles away...totally fine. However, my work associate had a car parked less than 2 miles away...but they still wouldnt give me a ride as that's against company policy. So I call a cab and 30 min later it arrives. As I am getting in the taxi for my 2 mile jaunt ($20) "Trey" looks me in the eyes and asks if I could recommend his shop to my friends. Are you kidding me? THEN he asks the cab driver to take people to Tip Tow when they break down... Unreal. Trey sucks. His shop sucks. His employees suck. Net net: Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I have had to use this towing company twice. Both times they were fanatic. They are nice and seem so genuine. Today, I had my battery jumped by them. The battery needed to be replaced. It would have been easy for them to sell me a new battery. The tech told me it was less than two years old and I should get with the dealer for a new battery instead of buying a new one.
