I've been coming here for a while now and it's been pretty nice. The food comes out fast and hot just like if it was home made. The atmosphere and the staff is great and relaxing to come to.

Did I just go to Tip Top again? Hell yeah I did. This time I went for breakfast. Which has LONG time been there calling card to fame. I have probably only checked into this place 2 or 3 times but been here too many times to count. What more is there to say? Cheap food. Great service. Can't come here enough.

Bland, underseasoned Chicken Souvlaki. Among the poorest I've had. Breakfast menu looked good, but avoid the Greek selections.

Amazing greek diner! Has all day breakfast. Like a good diner, has amazing Greek food. The spinach pie is delicious! The crust is flaky yet moist. The Gyro and Greek salad are out of this world. Filled with feta cheese, Greek olive oil, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers. The service was less than idea. Donna seemed to tired, would be facing away from us sitting at a booth, so we weren't able to flag her down when we needed something. Most of the time service is phenomenal, so I believe this was a one off experience.

Much better waitress! Only seat ! available for two was at the kitchen! Waitress came to us after 29 minute wait that someone took our food from the kitchen ! This place is an institution for cville! Crazy and chaotic ! Waitress kept telling customers that their food was stolen! Quality of the corn cakes has changed! Less sweet and not fluffy. Sausage very small ! Eggs cold and slightly over cooked for a sunny side up ! We didn't get the mean waitress this time! Veggie omelet good , cheese extra !

Great diner , breakfast served all day . I had a warm spinach salad which was excellent, wife had bacon & egg sandwich which was done exactly how she ordered it , home fries were very good , service was fast and friendly . When in the area I would go back in a minute .

This place is amazing! It was so crowded yet the service was fast and efficient. My food was so good--definitely get the onion rings for an extra dollar!

Great diner with good ole home feels. Everyone was pleasant and kind. I loved the grits!

My favorite breakfast/lunch dinner. Their Greek omelette is to die for! If you're visiting during rush hour - don't worry the wait is normally no longer than 15min!

Found myself and my friend starving after Sunday joyriding thru central VA. Glad I remembered seeing this place on previous travels to Charlottesville. My visit on 3/30/2925 at 1:00 pm was my first. We were seated in less than 5 minutes and this restaurant is busier than a beehive for good reasons. We were given our drinks we ordered quickly. I started with a side tossed salad with Thousand Island dressing. It was perfect to take off some hunger pangs. My friend and I both had the cheeseburger deluxe with onion rings. They arrived in 10 minutes. My friends mom's eyes bugged out when she saw and bit into the huge perfectly batters dipped onion rings. A huge smile ran from ear to ear on her face. The onion rings were cooked to perfection crispy and real onions inside were soft any yummy. The burgers were typical but tasty. It hit the spot. From looking around you to other tables the food was plentiful and devoured down quickly. Those waitresses sure were running around back and forth and you can tell they cared about you as a customer! If you're in the mood for really great diner type food definitely pull in to Tip Top.

We were in Charlottesville for a Dr's appointment and my wife loves breakfast options, but we were around lunch time. Tip Top showed up as a top recommendation on Yelp! We went and were so happy we did! We only had to wait about 15 minutes, especially considering the crowd of people there and rolling in! Usually a good sign! Great menu options with breakfast all day. It is loud from the number of people there and talking, but that did not distract from our enjoyment. Our waitress was nice, friendly and prompt. So many menu options!! I ended up getting the hot Italian combo sub and my wife got French toast with a side of Country Ham. We each loved every bite! Definitely recommend and we will be back! Don't be intimidated if there is a line. They move people through but we never felt rushed in any way. Classic diner here!!

The mains came out around 30+ minutes. A bit long imo. Overall food was good, not great. Most disappointing was the tomatoes that lacked flavor. The crab Bennie was pricey and fell flat. My wife and daughter both enjoy their dishes, but eggs were somewhat dry. Coffee was very good. It's a beautiful place with outdoor option. But the food is over hyped and pricey. The service was rushed. I still will go back. 3.5 rounding up for atmosphere.

This restaurant is clearly formerly a small home, given how it has so many small rooms set up like bedrooms, hallways, narrow stairs, and living rooms with six-pane windows. Plenty of mason jars and small flowers spread on each table. The food exceeded my expectations. The coffee and espresso were made by a skilled barista who steams great milk and can tell apart a cortado, latte, and flat white. My sweet potato hash was very tender, salted to perfection, and matched with a good amount of turkey sausage they managed to present piping hot but not dried out. My companion's smoked salmon and poached egg easily split under a fork and coated the plate in delightful yolk. Sensibly prepared. Nothing dry or cold. I found the entrance quite difficult to locate when coming from the Oakhurst Inn, probably a consequence of how the property is laid out with so many cabins and houses on the grounds. If you can manage the maze of stairs and paths, you'll find a charming cafe across from a new housing development. Definitely come here if you want good espresso or an appetizing breakfast.

Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
