I called in the morning to schedule a 3 PM appointment for a powder dip manicure. I arrived a little early but was seated right on time. Tom began working on my nails, but it seemed like he was planning to apply new powder over the old, and I was concerned the colors wouldn't match. I stopped him and asked if he could remove the old layer first. He cheerfully agreed, but I suspect the extra time required was making him run late for his next appointment. At that point, I was handed over to Julie, who finished the manicure. While I'm sure Tom would have done a great job, Julie was absolutely fantastic--I've never had a better powder dip manicure! It was so well done that I'm considering skipping my usual appointment at home before my desert vacation and instead visiting Julie and Tom as soon as I arrive. I'll be sure to book an appointment a few days in advance and let them know I'll need the old dip soaked off first so they can plan accordingly - especially since they are a small, family run business and not the multi-seat, many staffers emporiums I am used to. The service was good and they quickly accommodated me as a walk-in. The salon is clean and comfortable. Ngang was very accommodating. However, less than one week after my gel manicure that I supposed to last at least two weeks, the polish is beginning to lift on a couple of fingers. When I moved from Los Angeles to Palm Springs 5 years ago, to my dismay, I had a really hard time finding a really good nail person. I went to several nail salons and it was just bad every time. I finally was referred to someone and had went to her up until last year when she had a baby and didn't come back. So I went on another search and couldn't find anyone who was just as good. A month ago, I passed by Tip Top Nails and decided to drop in. I made an appointment with one of the ladies there. The next day Katrina was there filling in for Julie & Tom because they were on vacation. I decided to go with something simple to start since I was just trying them out so I went with a basic mani/pedi. Katrina was so personable and did such a great job! I was kinda sad that she wasn't going to be there when it would be time for me to go back but I went ahead and gave it another go. I made an appointment and this time Julie did my nails and pedi. Julie is so nice! She made me feel really comfortable. And she did a great job. All of the people there were regulars and have been for years so it says a lot about their service. Nails - Sam does such a great job doing your nails. He is gental, takes his time, does not make your nails thick. Once he's done working his magic, your nails come out looking natural. I can't speak to the quality of the nail salon because I was rudely and abruptly kicked out in the middle of my pedicure. When I walked in the salon was completely empty with one woman working at the front. I asked for a mani pedi and she told me to pick a color and sit down. She was very rude but I chalked it up to her having a bad day. Once I sat down she started working on my pedicure. 3 minutes in, another customer walked in and the woman working on my pedi seemed to call someone on the phone (perhaps to come help the other customer) but no one came out to help. So she asked me (really told me) to come back for my manicure because she doesn't have time to do it anymore since the other customer apparently had an appointment. I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I came in, and she explained that I don't have time to come back as I rushed over while my baby was napping. She very curtly snapped at me and said "do you want the pedicure or not?!" I obviously did not want to receive services from someone so rude for one, and who would fail to deliver the services promised. It was a horribly off putting experience that did nothing but waste my time. I will surely never be coming to this nail salon again and will urge anyone I know not to trust them with their nails based on their unprofessional and down right rude attitude. read more

This place is near a McDonald's and next to a hair salon, kind of easy to miss. Be sure to scan the signage and you'll see a red sign to help you.. Heres what I got: a full set of acrylic nails, pedicure and both with gel polish added for $85. A male did my nails and feet and he was very gentle and neat. (Sorry I didn't catch his name, but he was very nice) I got exactly what I asked for (natural style and polish) and left a very happy woman lol. I will for sure be back! I was pleasantly surprised. I knew right away I had a good manicurist by his technique and I was right. I left with a beautiful dip manicure including a pretty hand painted flower on my ring finger. The salon is very clean and welcoming. Cash only preferred and open only until 5:00. They operate by appointment only but same day appointments available. Call ahead. I went to tip top to get powder nails for an event. I chose them due to their higher Yelp reviews. However, within 3 days of getting them done my powder chipped. Having had powder before, I could see the technician was applying it incorrectly but figured she knew what she was doing. She had also cut me in several places, and left my nails at inconsistent shapes/lengths. Lastly, the posted price for powder manicure and spa pedicure totaled to $65, yet they charged me $70. I'm not one to make a stink of things, but when my nails chip within 3 days, and I was over charged, it's worth a bad review. read more
