If you're going here to get a pedicure be certain that you request someone you've used in the past that does a good job. The young guy with his hair dyed orange, avoid at all cost. There's no way you should pay that time of money for sub par work, my mail polish looks streaky and clumpy. This is twice I've had a horrible experience with pedicures here, WILL NOT RETURN FOR A PEDICURE read more

Post your prices !!! I won't be back. I feel like I get swindled every time I'm there with multiple up charges. The prices are not posted on purpose. The quality of the service is ok. While I was there another customer came in and said despite giving a cash tip, her card was charged an additional 18%. read more

This is a little shop but all of the employees are extremely professional. Of course it is immaculate. All of the employees work in lock step with each other. I was in desperate of a pedicure (okay I'm exaggerating but not entirely) and had no idea where to go. I'm glad I turned to Yelp and found this place. Such a gem! First, I was greeting immediately upon walking in. This is so helpful when entering a nail shop. I don't know why so many places make you wait and wonder if you in a queue of some sort, if they even saw you, etc. It was a Thursday evening and they were able to get me in right away Second, let's be real. I want a pedicure but mostly I want a foot rub. Anyplace that massages my feet for more than just two minutes is amazing. My foot rub was awesome - thank you! I got the Deluxe Pedicure, which is the next one up from a regular pedicure and was $30. The sea salt scrub and paraffin wax treatment including was so worth it! It also includes a free drink (water or pop) which I thought was cute. The technicians were very professional and I felt comfortable right away and was able to really enjoy my treatment. Would definitely come here again! read more

My search is over!!!!! I've lived in Louisville for 2 years and I've been to several nail shops...ugh so exhausting!!! I'm simple...kinda. I have sausage fingers and I need my nails a certain way and all have failed until now!!! I'm in love and this shop did it for me! They have the latest in all the colors and can do all styles. Lee decided to take it easy on me since it was our 1st time The staff is friendly and the shop well maintained. From Lee to Julia and so on you can't go wrong!!! read more

I tried this place on a Sunday whereas a lot of places are closed and yet another didn't take debit/credit. I used to think that all nail salons were pretty much the same. Tip and Toe changed that opinion. I have went to other places due to being out off town or on the other side of the river, but always come back to see Johnny at Tip and Toe. I like this place so much that if I do go somewhere else, I feel guilty because the staff here are so friendly and make you feel right at home. They have a lot of colored and accentuated tips to choose from as well as polish colors. The prices are pretty much inline with other shops. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

I've had two pedicures and one manicure at Tip & Toe! While all the techs are friendly and accommodating, I request Shana! She's great at recommending colors for me, as I'm quite indecisive, and she usually has a great manicure herself. Treat yourself and go for the signature spa pedi at $35. The hot stone massage along with the deep exfoliation of the heels is totally worth it. read more

I will never be back. I went in to get me and my daughters nails and feet done because I was not able to make to my original nail tech. When I walked in they asked me if I wanted gel and when I told them no they basically insulted me. While doing my nails they tried to tell me I needed another set which I knew it wasn't true because I just got this set done two weeks ago. They basically overcharged me like I got gel polish and didn't get my feet done like requested. I will never ever go back. read more

They tried to overcharge me!!!! The service was very bad I waited 30 minutes and was skipped over while waiting. The lady who did my nails was very rude she told me she had to use the restroom but instead snuck off to eat food. She didn't cut the nails to the length I asked for, and she was very rough around d the cuticle area. I will not be returning read more

Wonderful experience here. The salon is clean, newly renovated and the staff was nice. I have to give the owners here credit for having such nice facilities seeing as most places are humble, with lack-luster decor. I like getting gel/schlack manicures and they had several colors to choose from whereas some places only having about 10 colors. What was an extra surprise was that part of their manicure is a paraffin wax treatment which I've never gotten anywhere else (and I'm from Atlanta!). I will definitely continue coming here and recommending it to anyone looking for an all-around great place for their mani-pedi needs in a beautiful setting. Check out my pics of this place too to see what I mean. read more

I came to tip and toe nails because I was in the area and didn't have time to go to my normal nail salon. They rushed, used an old and clumpy polish, and did a terrible job in general. I asked for coffin nails and in the end my nails were square and when I asked for extra filing I was argued with. The paint job is awful, the shape is awful and for some reason my fingers stung when they were being painted. I have been getting my nails done for a while now and have never experienced this level of incompetence. The only good thing I can say is that I did not have to wait for my walk in. read more

I stopped coming here a while back, because the Cure like is so bad for my nails and they were literally filing them down till there was hardly nothing left of my actual nail... but that's how most places do it, a friend of mine recommended that I get a powder dip over my regular real now and try to go natural, this powder dip is supposed to be better for your nails and help growth. So I came back to tip and toe... they literally did a powder Dip paint with glitter, and no nail designs, and the full damage was $40! That's with no design, that's with no acrylic or special bling. I think they capitalized on things that should be priced lower, even a regular polish I think is $15. To me that's outrageous if you're not doing the full set,.. anyway now I know, save your money and go somewhere like St Matthews Mall. Or heck you can even go to Walmart for the basics. If you like nail design though, tip and toes is the best at the actual nail art! I may come back but I kind of doubt it because I know I could go somewhere else and spend half that and still have great looking nails with better customer service read more

I have lived in the south end for over a year now but I continually traveled all the way to St. Matthew's for a pedicure because I just wasn't sure about south end nail shops. Well now I can give my car a little break because Tip & Toe has become my new go-to pedi place! I got right in for a pedicure at 3:30 on a Saturday (they were decently busy but they have 6 pedicure chairs.) I chose the Deluxe Pedicure (they have 4 to choose from) for $28.00 and that comes with a lengthy leg and foot massage, 2 scrubs, and a paraffin wax. The best thing about this place is that they open a brand new package of tools for you before they begin - no sanitation issues here! My pedicurist was nice and polite, talkative without being intrusive. I will absolutely be back! read more

I've been looking for a good nail salon since I moved back to the south end from St. Matthews. As a former nail biter, I get my nails done regularly and like to keep them looking good. I tried out this salon after reading several positive reviews. It's a small shop, but clean and everyone was friendly. I love gel nails and they have a huge color selection. Shannon did my nails. I got a manicure, gel nails, and they include paraffin with their manicures! My nails look beautiful! Very pleased! read more

I have been going to this nail salon for over 5 years. Went in for a pedicure and manicure today, and while doing a French manicure one of the female technicians ground through my nail to the point where it is painful and I have a large whole in my nail. The manicure looks horrible because of this, not so much as a sorry from the tech when I jerked my hand back in pain. Really liked this place but I won't be back. read more

I've been to Tip and Toe several times over the past few years and have always had a nice experience. They are busy no matter the time of day so they are doing something right. I went in a few days ago to have a manicure and pedicure. The lady I had kept trying me to get gel nails instead of standard polish. I've had a bad reaction to gels in the past so I stick with standard. She asked me if I wanted gels about five times. After I told her the fifth time I didn't want gels and I didn't like them she said well I guess you like your nails to chip. That seemed out of line to me. She didn't speak to me after that. All the other nail techs I've had have been very nice. Maybe this lady was having a bad day but I expect better. read more

I tried coming back to this place after 2 years to see they still haven't changed. They care more about how quick to get you out versus if you're happy with your set. They messed up my nails twice in 1 setting to where i took them off the same day because i was so dissatisfied. Then manage to charge me $65 for just a color change. No special design. No diamonds. Just a simple color change. I knew I left for a reason I try to give business's second chances. I don't recommend this place at all. No matter how desperate. read more

This place gave me a fungus on my big toe that I'm still trying to get rid of 2 years later. At first it was just ugly but now it's not only ugly it's also uncomfortable and painful and I have had no luck getting rid of it. Unless you're able to take a very tough and harmful antibiotic that heavily affects your liver which I can not. Not to mention the pedicure and service itself was below par and I wouldn't even give it one star if I didn't have to. I would recommend ANY nail salon over this one unless you want to end up in my never ending toe problem. read more

Well, it's like any other salon-- your experience very much depends on who you draw to do your nails. I got the short straw this time. The guy was nice enough, but he was no where near meticulous enough to make me happy. My gel nails are sharp-edged, uneven, filled with bumps in the polish, and not filled in to the cuticles. Some of my fingers look good, but 8/10 look like I tried to do it at home with help from my cat or my 3 yr old niece. Not cool. And I paid more here than I did in Phoenix, AZ, two weeks ago! It wasn't all bad. I liked the paraffin treatment included (perhaps this explains the higher price). The salon was clean. Staff were all friendly and professional. The chemical smells weren't overwhelming. If you've ever been in a nail place without adequate ventilation, you know what I'm talking about! I'm just used to nail techs being very detail oriented, and my guy just wasn't. I would come back, though. My mom uses this as her go- to pedicure spot, and there were plenty of other nail specialists available. Next time, I'm trying someone else! Maybe I'll have better luck. That's the trouble when you go to a new place, you don't know who to ask for and who to avoid. I don't want to knock the place too bad over one slipshod job by one guy. I'd tell you a name, so you'd know to pass and take whoever is next available, but I never got it. I wouldn't have given my name, either! You only do that when you know your new customer is about to become a regular because you worked miracles on them, you want them to ask for you next time. Clients, your regular customers, are the life's blood of your business. This is especially true in the highly competitive beauty industry, if you can't keep people coming back, you're done. This salon was busy on a weekday afternoon, so somebody's doing something right! Just be aware that it's someone, not everyone... read more

One of the worst pedicures I've ever had! Also, the nail salon is very dirty, and there was a bad smell. I couldn't tell if it was body odor, or food that one of the employees was eating right in front of the pedicure chairs. If I had seen how filthy it was back by the pedicure chairs, I certainly would have left. Praying I don't get a fungus. The only reason I have one star was because the nail technician was sweet, and did a pretty good job on the cuticles, but she got distracted and rushed through the rest of the service after a friend of hers came in. Also, burned my feet in the paraffin, and then didn't even put lotion on my feet. Instead of having that great post pedi feeling, my feet feel burned and dry! I would never return! read more

The first time I went, me and my mother got pedis and the lady doing my moms pedi spoke good English until my mother asked her if she could fix her toes. They didn't look good at all but mine did. Instead of someone fixing them, a guy coached her and she just made them look worse so we asked for a manager. The manager finally fixed them after my mom had to wait forever after new ppl. The second time I went, another lady put a coat of clear on my toes but after getting out of the shower, my toes looked extremely dull. I got gel mani and my polish chipped the same week so my nails chipped off too. I figured I'd give them one last chance because they are so close to my house & job and I figured I could just pick a different person and a different service & I would be ok. Well this time I got White tips and a pedi. Two of my nails are crooked but the polish on my toes turned out ok. Needless to say...3 times is a charm.... I'm never going back. Smh. read more

I've been coming here forever mainly because this is where my mom went when I was growing up. The techs are generally friendly, but I've had some experiences where they weren't. Last time I came with some friends we all felt pressured to get gel nails (shellac), which none of us wanted. Last time I had them done here it peeled off after a couple days, so naturally I'm not interested in the service. Anyways, after we told them no we were pressured repeatedly and I feel like they tried to sneak the gel nails in (giving us samples of gel colors to pick from instead of regular polish). So that left a bad taste in my mouth. Aside from that, it's a nice place with big massage-y chairs, and prices typical to any other nail shops. They generally do good work, but I recommend bringing your own polish with you, as I think the polish they have comes off easier, and you can touch it up yourself later if needed. read more

I want to this place on Thursday to get a full set and a pedicure. My pedicure was OK, but my nails are horrific. I didn't get anything that I asked for. The shape is really bad to the point where I have to go get them reshaped and cut down, Which is $50 down the drain. The prices are a little steep. I called back this morning and a man answered the phone. I asked him if I could come in for a cut down and or a reshaping, and he was so freaking rude to me. I was hung up on as I was told I was being put on hold. I called back and told him I think we got disconnected and I wanted to know if I could come in for a cut down/and or reshaping he told me no it was going to take too long but I could come in anyway and they could see what they could do for me. I would never come back here again. How the hell is it going to take too long to give me a cut down? Basically now I've lost the length that I payed for to get them reshaped. A waste of money don't come here they suck. read more

I would have left zero stars if I could. The service was terrible. The man rushed me the entire time. I came in at 6:30 ( they close at 8). He got polish all over my hand (which burned due to it being gel). He then was going to let it stay on there as I walked out. I had to make him take it off. I didn't want to pay for the service. I will be calling tomorrow for a refund or a new service. read more
