I initially went to another salon and was quoted a 4 hour wait, I called this place, they told me to come on in and they got me in and out QUICK and they were very busy when I got here. my nails are exactly what I wanted and the technician was very nice. Expect nails & spa is as the river suggests a nail and spa place located off Preston Highway in a shopping center in the hill view portion of Louisville Kentucky. Took my two middle daughters here to get there nails and toes painted and they have pretty good pricing and a lot better customer service skills then some other nearby nail places we have taken our daughters too. They were quick, patient and allowed the girls to have a fun and memorable time. They both were very satisfied with there choices. Overall seems like a good place to go. Me being dad I'm obviously can't provide personal experience details on the job but they do a better job on service and pricing then other nearby places I've taken my daughters. read more

Don't waste your time or money. They messed my nails up and had to go back. The 2nd lady tried her best to straighten them out. Only thing I'm pissed about was they had to take my nails and Trim them all the way down when I walked in with long nails. Came out with short nails. The one girl said oh your fingers are crooked. I laughed and said they were not crooked when I walked in. A customer who was leaving said the lady who did my nails 1st was not good and complained on all the time. Then with pedicure they want to charge more for services but do less work. The last rubbed one leg for 2 mins and barely touched the other leg I told her the towel was too hot and she didn't do anything about it I feel for 107$ spent I didn't get a good quality of service and if I tell you I want a full set dip with tips why are you telling me you'd do a overlay on one hand and tips on another with gel polish????? None of the equipment they used was clean, and me as well as another friend that went had experienced irritated skin and she even got an infection from it where her nail beds bubbled up. There are much cleaner places around that could do a much better job. read more

I have gone here a few times in the past and was pleased with the work, but my most recent experience was disappointing. I can't speak for their pedicures, BUT I went in on a Monday to get a full set (haven't had one in a year) and by Tuesday my nail polish was peeling. I went in Wednesday only to be greeted by the counter person who would not look me in the face or even cared what I had to say. the guy who did my nails originally apologized, and by Thursday it was peeling again. On my first visit, a lady came in wanting the guy who was doing my nails currently to do hers so he rushed the process and I did not feel he had quality of my nails involved after that. I don't have a manual labor job so I didn't know what was going on. My birthday was that weekend needless to say I had to go to a different salon to get the fixed and have had no issues since. read more

I'm not one to spew negative reviews but I have to regarding Expert Nails & Spa. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience today that I need to share. As someone who's has nails done professionally for easily a decade, today was the first time a technician dremmeled through my nail into my skin. I do not get acrylics and the technician was aware my nails are real. My finger is still throbbing in pain and stings to the touch. I can only hope it recovers by tomorrow before work since not only am I left handed, but type almost nonstop. Please see attached photos. It spewed blood and almost caused me to vomit from the pain. Clearly Nails Expert and Spa needs to have the technician retrained and to learn how to take responsibility for his actions instead of blaming the tool, since I've never had an injury like this before or known anyone who has. Depending on the severity this injury leads to, I may have to see a doctor as it's a very deep injury. Nails Expert and Spa, I expect someone to reach out regarding this injury, because it's ridiculous and needs to be addressed. read more

I got the milk & honey pedi, says on the menu it'll take 45 minutes. I was leaving( even after letting my toes dry ) in 35 minutes. I rarely leave bad reviews but I'm so frustrated. Not sure of the man's name but he's an older man, he was mad the entire time, didn't wanna do the pedicure at all, kept slapping my leg to put it up, rushed the whole thing and spoke maybe 4 words to me the whole time, kept stopping to make phone calls and text. This is my usual go to spot. Overall they are great. I'll start with the negatives on occasion I will get somebody who is a little rough but usually they are not and take their time. Right now with the Covid going on you walk in they have you wash your hands then sign in. Everyone has to wear a mask guest and staff. If they sit you next to somebody they put up a clear barrier. The nail salon is very clean. They usually stay really busy but they always seem to have enough staff To where you were not waiting too long if you do have to wait. I highly recommend this nail salon. They do manicures pedicures they have gel polish dip polish and offer other services like waxing but I've never done any of that before. Definitely check it out. We had 6 people (2 kids) and expected it to take a while. It did but it was a good experience (little pricy). Today was a nice slow day. I called at 4:45 to see if my daughter & I could get in for a quick Pedi. "Of course!" We arrived at 5:05 and we're told we could get a chair but it would be 15 min to start. Ok, still out by 6pm so we sat. And Sat and sat and sat! At 5:50 I asked how much longer (at this time there was now only 1 girl doing pedicures). He told us there were still two people in front of us. I asked what happen to 20min. No comment, just "there are only two people in front of you." I left with my daughter crying! No concern for the customers time. If you decide to go, prepare to be there for 3-4 hours for mani/pedi. I think you'll be happy with what you get but you'll pay for it. read more

I had an Appt at 9am with a specific person. I arrived at 8:55. I signed in (and said appt with so and so at 9am and they put someone else In her chair that was a walk-in and requested her. This isn't the first time. Why bother taking appts if you are not going to honor them. My very favorite nail tech left and I wish I knew where she went because I would go there. I won't be returning to Expert Nails and I was a faithful every 2 weeks customer. They do not care at all about their regular customer. Went to this place after a month of not going there. I had my nails done at another salon and was really pleased with the results. I come back tonight because the other place was going to close and there were three of us going. So we chose Expert nails. Their work is far from being "expert" and more like mediocre. Christina didn't line up my nail length for make sure they were even, she only put on one coat of the mint green, the white tips are sloppy, my nails aren't filled in properly, and there is pink paint in my pointer finger. I asked her to remove the pink instead she painted over it. You can still see the pink and it looks awful. I paid $48 and tip. The manager said they would "fix them free of charge tomorrow." I want my money back. I have to take time out of my day tomorrow and haul my daughter's up there to have them fixed. I am highly upset. I've never had nail work this bad before. Now they are telling me there is a no refunds policy! Your works suck and your employee took the cash so quickly from my hands as a tip. This was a treat myself gift and I rarely get those with my husband and I's income. If I provided horrible services I would offer a refund or to atleast fix the issue then and there and not for me to come back the next day. read more

Im 72 years old. I went for a med and a ped. I was in and put in less than 50 min. I felt like peice of meat. Very busy lots of workers just walking around doing nothing. I wanted to enjoy getting a pedicure with my daughter, but the whole thing was really rushed. When I looked around I noticed the other customers were getting the treatment I am used to, hot towel, foot scraper, etc. Not mine. She took approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. The gentleman doing my daughters was doing the same thing. No care as to whether we were enjoying this experience but just in a hurry to get it done. I went on Saturday and it was crowded. I didn't mind because I had nothing else to do but wait on my cousin to come back and cross my fingers my phone didn't die. Service prices aren't listed anywhere. While I was waiting a patron was upset because she did t get what she asked for and didn't like what she got. I almost packed up and left my damn self but I just said to myself " self; don't sit in that man's chair". Tried out a new nail spot closer to my house and was nervous with it not being in the city...what a hidden gem! I have never been to a nail salon with SO many polish colors! As an added bonus, they had TWO bottles of my favorite discontinued Hello Kitty pink I've been searching for in numerous salons! Waited less than 5 minutes to get in a pedicure chair and enjoyed the massage chair while waiting for the tech. I got the Deluxe pedicure and thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. Very happy with a massage during the scrub and after the hot towels. Only complaint- no drinks (water, soda) offered like at some of the other salons in the city. Got the basic pedicure which the "menu" said lasted 30 minutes. The only way it is 30 Min is if you include the 15 minutes at the drying table. I was in the chair right at 15 min and that included her polishing my nails. Absolutely no leg massage other than rubbing lotion on. Also I chose the regular polish because I'm not paying an extra $15 for polish that lasts no longer than regular polish does and after sitting at drying table for 15 and my additional 15 min drive home with heat on full blast on my feet it still smudged when my nail brushed again something, I've never had polish take over 30 min to dry so not sure what kind of polish they're using but it does not dry read more

Service is very friendly and they will always try to get you in with someone, even if you don't have an appointment. The spa is large and they have many technicians working at any given time.
