Love this authentic Mexican restaurant. And by authentic, I mean straight out of Mexico authentic food! It would make my abuelita proud! The Chilaquiles were amazing and the guacamole was truly fresh with the right amount of heat! Had the all you can drink brunch special found in the Pulsd app; I preferred the sangria over the margarita. The service was on point and the authentic Mexican home appeal of the establishment was felt throughout. Wow! I am still here as I'm writing this, I couldn't wait to give 5 stars. The service is incredibly gracious, attentive, and accommodating. I didnt eat much, but each plate that passed by me looked incredible! To top it all off, the ambiance is what I am so passionate about. There's a restaurant with the same name in Philly with amazing food and while we know there's no relation, we were hopeful that the food would be just as good. Admittedly, we were also intrigued by bottomless mimosas and sangria. It wasn't very busy, the host sat us in a 4 top in the window, shortly after that the manager apologized and moved us to another table. We ordered sangria and opted for light lunch, and ordered the empanadas, clams, soup and salad. I've been coming here since before the pandemic. Back when there was just the taco shop. I used to love their tacos and elote. then I started coming during the pandemic when they were just take away drinks. Which was amazing and something to do. Since the pandemic, I have only eaten here a handful of times. And every time I come I'm just a little more disappointed. The service has gone down tremendously as well as the food quality. I came here recently and didn't even realize that I had been here previously. We were in the area and I popped in because I saw that they had frozen margaritas that could be purchased togo. Came here on a Saturday afternoon after attending the play "Light's Out" about Nat King Cole. The restaurant was not crowded at the time, which was around 4pm and we didn't have a reservation. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately at a table by the window. They also have bar seating and an entire seating area in the back. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful as far as making suggestions and answering our questions. There are a LOT of options too! You can order a bunch of Tapas, or strictly stick with a main course. For starters know when you come here the restaurant no longer sells Mexican food. There is a restaurant next door that does which I think is owned by the same owners but I'm not sure. Just don't use these yelp pictures as a reference for Tio Pepe. I bought a voucher for $50 for a bottomless brunch and there was an automatic 18% gratuity on the marked up price so it really wasn't a deal which I found misleading. I would get it if it was on the $50- but this is how some merchants are taking advantage of the app. I've worked with Pulsd for a few years now and they can't automatically do it on the value or at all really. I would've happily tipped on the $50 bc I also didn't like my food but didn't mention it because I felt like it was a deal and didn't want to complain to the family business!
