I went to the grand opening of this food truck, and I completely understand that it takes some time for things to work out- which is why I am giving 3 stars. I ordered the curry, dumplings, sticky rice with mango, spring rolls, and Thai iced tea. I did get the buns and iced tea free from a Yelp! event (full disclosure) but I would have ordered them anyway since I love Thai iced tea and the buns are pretty. We did have a few issues- when the order was handed to my husband (I was wrangling our toddler) we were missing half the food- my drink, dumplings, and rice did not make it into the bag. I had to go back and wait in line, and eventually they saw me waiting and called me up and apologized- which was very nice. I understand these things happen, bt just a reminder to check your orders before leaving or you might be stuck waiting in line again. As for the food- overall, it was ok. The dumplings which I was most excited for fell a little flat. They were cold (could be because of the delay in me receiving them, so perhaps they are usually hot). They were also a lot of dough with not a lot of filling- I tasted a lot of peanut but not a lot of chicken. The presentation was a lot of lettuce/leaves and some sauce in the box, but there were only 3 tiny dumplings floating around. I don't think they need to waste all that greenery. Next came the curries- the big issue was we ordered 2 tempeh ones, and we received one chicken and one tempeh. Thankfully, one of our diners eats chicken, so we were fine, but if it was 2 vegetarians, it would have been a bigger problem. The curries were kind of sweet- they did not have kick. They were mild even by "white people" standards- so I would suggest having some more punch. The chicken in the curry didn't seem like it was brined and was a little dry as well. My mango and sticky rice was delicious, but I also thought the cost was a little steep for what it was. The drink was great, and the spring rolls were fine. Overall, it didn't wow us, but it was ok. I feel the flavors need to be a bit more powerful. I think some of these issues we experienced are just the kinks of opening a food truck, so things like wait times, organization, presentation, etc will improve. I'd suggest you give them a try, and see if the flavor suits you, or if you are looking for a more intense experience. read more

Now that was a treat. Reasonably priced and nice portions. I eat asian and Thai food regularly and that was the best papaya salad ever. Flavors and textures were spot on. The Drunken Noodles were excellent. Tons of fresh vegetables and protein with perfect noodles. Best little Thai spot in Buffalo. read more

Moved to Buffalo recently and being from near the NYC area I needed some authentic Thai food. Thank goodness Tiny Thai exists up here, my first time getting food from here and it was killer. Papaya salad was prepared just like how they do it back home and the flavors popped. Definitely will have to return to try everything else. read more

I LOVE TINY THAI!!! Tiny Thai is a food truck that moves around but often parks at Five Points, in the grassy lot across the street from Five Points Framing. But you can check out her Instagram (@tinythaibuffalo) or website (https://www.tinythai.biz/events) to see where they're going to be any given day. The owner-chef's menu is very short but PERFECT. I've tried and recommend: Chor Muang: these are steamed purple/blue dumplings filled with an umami-rich mix of chicken and peanuts, and topped with a little coconut milk. Apparently you're supposed to wrap each one in some of the fresh cilantro or lettuce it's served with before taking a bite... I am a non-authentically-minded, probably-not-super-cultured white lady who's used to eating dumplings with sauce, so I eat them with a little Chinese (light) soy sauce instead, and then enjoy the fresh bits afterwards. Great either way! I initially thought the dumplings were a little pricey, but then (a) it turned out they were VERY filling and (b) the owner-chef literally sculpts them one at a time by hand with a little tool into that lovely flower shape (I saw a video on her instagram)! Sooooo, you're eating art that's actually MORE than worth the price. Khao Man Gai: this meal is poached chicken over rice with sliced cucumber and a ginger soy sauce. It comes with a carton of Winter Melon soup. Bitter Melon is personally not my thing, but it's well-made and worth a try! I think this is a good "entry level" dish if you're not sure about Thai food or have digestion issues- or if you just want something simple, homey, comforting and delicious! The poached chicken is very delicately flavored, combined with the rice in the savory ginger soy sauce, the crisp, crunchy cucumber- just, everything together is SO GOOD. Gai Yang: fire-grilled chicken! Apparently it's marinated in a bunch of stuff first. Honestly I didn't know what was going on or what exactly I was tasting, but knew it was ADDICTIVELY delicious. That loovely strong taste of char you get from the grill added a lot of oomph to an already flavorful meat. It comes with some yummy sticky rice in a little plastic bag (not sure why- maybe bag stops it from drying out?) and some spicy dipping sauce. The sauce and rice are nice but you don't need them to enjoy the chicken. The first time my partner and I tried this for dinner, I went completely silent for the 15 minutes it took to eat the entire half a chicken half (a big portion)! He had to almost wrestle it away from me to get some bites in too. Massaman Curry: a very different curry experience than what I'm used to with Thai curries! The main ingredients of carrot and beef were ordinary on their own (and familiar comfort food)... but while the sauce still had a coconut milk base, it was an unfamiliar kind of aromatic, with tasting/smelling notes of star anise (I think), cumin and cinnamon. It was a hypnotizing experience. Also, the business owner has gone out of her way to kindly make certain selections gluten-free, so they're suitable for Buffalo's large Celiac population! The GF options are the chicken-peanut dumplings, the gai yane (fire-grilled chicken), the massaman curry , Tom Yum soup, and stir-fried vegetables. The best part maybe? You can ORDER AHEAD, so what you want is definitely ready for when you arrive! Otherwise, those dumplings and other faves sell out. Oh, and I just saw on her website that she also does catering and cooking classes. SIGN ME UP! If you try Tiny Thai and then post a Google or Yelp review, you can show it to the owner-chef next time you order for 15% off! Or you can do as I'm doing and always pay full-price, because you want them to stay in business. :) read more

I tried the chor muang dumpling and Drunken Mama noodles both very good but the dumplings didn't come with a sauce like other dumplings but they were good on their own topped with minced peanuts. The noodles were spicy as I requested and they came with two chicken wings. To top it off the thai tea was was sweet and iced delicious end to a great meal. read more

P'Kae is a gem and Buffalo is lucky to have her and this food. Her chicken and rice is one of my all time favorite foods from when i lived in Thailand and to find a place that does street food - not just the classic American favorites - is incredibly special. I also see she's doing a Khoa Soi pop up! Are you kidding me!? Sign me up. The really does make the best but impossible to find Thai dishes!! This has to be the tastiest Thai food in WNY. Another great pop-up! This was a Southern Junction co-production with amazing Chinese style barbecue pork and pickled onions with for real chicharrones and Khao Man Gai, which reminds me a lot of Hainan Chicken, but is Thai. Delicious flavor and texture, with a great sauce, fresh cilantro and sliced cucumber on the side and sticky rice, as well as a lovely broth. They also included finely sliced fruity hot tiny Thai chili in a separate container so if hot peppers aren't your thing, you didn't have to add them. I added them. :) So much food! Not good at all. I ordered delivery and received a congealed mess. I couldn't eat any of it. $40 down the drain.

I'm a Thai lover, so I was so excited to see Tiny Thai outside of my work today. When I arrived the line was extremely long and people had been waiting 20 minutes for food during their lunch break, far too long for me to wait. Knowing this, I knew I couldn't wait for food so I decided just to get a Thai tea. I love love love Thai tea, this one was served with whole milk which I didn't realize until after. I do wish that they gave you at least one other option and it was nearly half ice. Further, their prices were really high. A thai tea was 5 dollars, mango sticky rice was 10 (which I would've gotten if it was even slightly cheaper), and coconut ice cream was 12 dollars. That's crazy to me. Never have I ever seen 12 dollar ice cream in Buffalo. Their entrees did not stick out from the trend being that they were all early 15 dollars a piece . A few dollars cheaper and a little faster I would've gotten a main entree! read more

Tiny Thai is great. Their Peach Lemonade is one of my favorite summer drinks, and their Massaman Curry and Drunken Noodles are fantastic. The only downside to TT is that, being a food truck, you have to catch them where they are, when they are, but that's part of the fun. I've waited for my food in the blazing sun, and in snow flurries. No matter what the weather was like the food was delicious. read more

Just went there and everything was amazingggg. I got thai tea, drunken noodles and fresh rolls and loved all of them especially the noodles and tea. The thai tea was perfectly sweet and creamy. The noodles were so flavorful and had a great texture and lots of yummy veggies. The peanut sauce that came with the tools was really delicious too and they were very fresh. The service was great, all the food was ready in less than 15 minutes and the owner was so sweet! I hope more people try this place it's so great!! read more

Stopped by the Tiny Thai food truck this past weekend for the first time and had the Massaman Curry. As a vegan I was worried their would not be an option, but the owner quickly informed me the curry could be made vegan with tempeh added. The food was delicious and the owner was very kind. Tiny Thai is a great food truck. The purple dumplings (Chor Muang) Kae makes are very savory and unique. Everyone should try these dumplings. The chicken, again Yang is also well done. The side sauce is also very special. You should also get the Tom Yum soup and Coconut drink when available. read more

KhaoMunGai is one of my favourite go-to dishes from Thailand. It is definitely one of the most popular dishes there, unfortunately it was not easy to find it in the U.S. but now I am so glad I can find this dish in Buffalo! Tiny Thai's KhaoMunGai has authentic flavour. The chicken is soft and moist. The "KhaoMun" has good flavour. And the secret of this dish....is the SAUCE! Super refreshing, a little spicy but not too much, and it really brings the whole dish together. If you have not tried KhaoMunGai, I recommend you order it at least once and I think you might just find your new favourite Thai dish ;) P.S. On Super Bowl Sunday, I was blown away by the tasty Thai chicken (kai) with Buffalo Mambo sauce and pad Thai with pomelo fruit salad (I haven't had pomelo is so long).
