I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. I would dare say the shrimp was pre cooked and frozen before it was fried. No flavor and chewy. My mom and grandma said the fish was okay it had a very fish stick look to it but no real complaints about the fried fish. (Whiting and catfish) My grilled food was just okay. The vegetables were solid I ate that with no issues, onions, peppers and eggplant. The branzino was a good texture asked for it to be butterflied but no real flavor. I had to add salt and pepper for taste. The shrimp was also okay but nothing to write home about. I wasn't super impressed but it was okay.
