    Shrimp Quesadilla

The bartender was a sweetheart and super relatable! She's 5 stars. But the food is meh. They offer a lunch special for a few of their regular menu items for 10.95 plus a can soda or modelo. Let's just sum it up and say that the crispy chicken sandwich wasn't crispy it's almost as if it was grilled. The French fries they served were orange-ish so I thought they were sweet potato fries- they weren't. And it was soggy yet burnt... Their choice of honey mustard wasn't my favorite. On the other hand their shrimp quesadillas were actually quite flavorful but I could enjoy the pico de gaillo bc I wasn't given utensils. It was super slow and I was taking my time anyway to eat but I was missing that. Other than that, I would just come here for drinks. Maybe if I come later in the day, the food will be better.

I mean what can I say, TY . The food looked great, would have liked it to be tad hotter. Wait staff was over whelmed so food came out slow. Glad I only ordered beer. Loved the vibe in the backyard. Need to spray for the ants, FR. Love the fact that there were board game to play with friends and family.

Very nice spot. The owners also own Beatstro around the corner. My sister and I ordered the chicken empanadas and chips and guacamole. They have a very good variety of craft beers and cocktails. We would definitely come back for a chill vibe since we noticed they also have a bunch of games (jenga, operation, connect 4, etc.) Overall, first time was very good.

Mac & Cheese !! Absolutely delish

Bricks & Hops has amazing prices for bottomless brunch and very affordable happy hour deals. I'm absolutely obsessed with their mac and cheese and order it almost every time I stop by. I've tried many items off both their regular and brunch menus and while I've never been completely blow away, I've never been dissapointed. I'm excited to stop by here during the warmer months, as they have a huge backyard area outside. They definitely should consider adding seats with some sort or back support. Sitting in their bar stools for an hour or two at a time can get very uncomfortable very quickly. Also adding carafts to the tables when doing bottomless brunch would be great. It's a bit tedious to constantly have to flag down the waitress when you want another mimosa... especially when it's busy. I obviously want a refill if I'm paying for bottomless, no need to ask every time. All things considered service could be better but Bricks & Hops is a great place to stop if you want a drink and a quick bite to eat.

I am not a beer person BUT there's more than just beer at a Beer Garden. Right? We'll sorta. I am a vegan and as per usual did my research before committing to attend Brick & Hops. I was surprised by the various vegan items being offered on the menu. However, on the weekends there's a small number of plates available.

I tried to be as fair as possible because in actuality it wasn't bad, but coconut crusted anything should be described in the menu. It was edible, but not what I think of when I read fish and chips.

Happy Hour menu + strawberry margarita

It was my first time visiting Bricks & Hops and it won't be in my last. The trip from East Harlem was short and sweet and the vibe was lively on a Friday night. Definitely come towards the earlier side of Happy Hour in order to get a seat up front. The service was a bit slow at times, but the bartenders made up for it with their friendly demeanor and great pours, if ya know what I mean lol. I had the strawberry margarita and Say Deuces (basically a rum punch with Dussé). The Deuces was potent and delicious AF -- highly recommended! My friend had the guava margarita and a Henny Sangria. Although it was my first time, she's a regular here and raved about the sangria being her go-to. The one thing I will say is my surprise with the Shrimp "Po Boy." Part of what makes it a Po boy is the bread, so imagine my surprise when the fish came out in a tortilla wrap....Other than that, the Cajun fries were deliciously seasoned and the mozzarella sticks ($5 HH) hit the spot. The calamari was also tasty. All in all I def look forward to coming back...and rushing from work in lower Manhattan to savor every moment of happy hour. It's good having a place like this in the neighborhood and being able to keep the money uptown/close to home.

I love bricks and hops ! They were open during covid and still allowed us to get takeout from their service window! Their food is always very fresh and their drinks are amazing! My sis and I went to eat there yesterday and their outdoor section in the back is so cute and cozy! They have amazing servers and waitresses. All around great spot!

It is the last original beer garden remaining in New York City. On a hot summer day, the Beer Garden just off 31st street is the place to come and relax, watch a game or event, or, at other times, attend a civic or social meeting with local elected officials in one of their private rooms or the main auditorium. I was here last July to hang out and hold an outdoor meeting about a local park in Astoria. We had a choice of burgers, mac and cheese, pizza schnotzel, beer-battered onion rings, and various fried foods. However, there is one aspect of going to the Beer Garden that I ABSOLUTELY HATE, and that is bouncers frisking down visitors or asking customers to show an ID. In my opinion, that is a turnoff and unnecessary action taken, for orderly, polite adults, and makes you feel as if you are in a strip club, and thus an invasion of the person's right to privacy. I recommend, yes, but it is best to go when you want to attend a group event.

This is a place to find rare beer not ordinarily seen elsewhere. This was my first visit and I must have walked past Harlem Hops innumerable times along Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard in Harlem. This time I caught myself walking past on a beautiful Saturday with a five second delay and turned around and walked into Harlem Hops. Initially I thought I'll have a beer and keep it moving. I ordered a canned Hefeweizen, Deep Fried Highlighter Hefeweizen. Yep, that's the name and it was great. It supposed to have a banana note, but that was barely detectable. The clove note was there and it rode the top of this summer Hefeweizen nicely. Given this is one of the canned beers, they may have this anytime. Then I had American Pale Ale on tap, another great choice for a summer day: crisp, refreshing, cloudy light amber in color and unfiltered reminding you of a Hefeweizen. It has a slight citrus fruity flavor to my palate. There are sixteen taps. The taps change with the kegs, the season and what the owner sources from local breweries and beyond. Meanwhile, I'm having good conversations with folks who are regulars and the woman behind the bar, giving great recommendations. I forget the woman's name, but she is great. You can sample whatever they have on tap. She is good at understanding your taste profile and making recs. They also have a limited food menu. There is a backyard patio or garden and one can sit outside in front on the sidewalk. The dark interior is nice and cool on a summer day. The bathroom was clean as well. Four stars!

It works perfectly either way. This place is like your essential neighborhood dive bar, but with taste. If Tom's Restaurant had a cool, younger cousin who knew everything about beer, it would be this spot. It has that loyal following energy, the kind of place people in the know appreciate long before it becomes famous on a tourist list. They are known for their craft beer and let me tell you, they have a ton of it. I am not even into craft beer like that, but I like to experiment. At the rate I am going, it will take me about a year to get through all the options. Maybe two years if I behave responsibly. The food is great too. I think they have special days with unique menus or events once in a while because the times I went, something interesting was happening. Even on normal days, everything was on point. The fries alone are worth stopping in for. Simple, delicious, and dangerous. And the meals are well portioned, which is rare for a craft beer bar. What I really like is the vibe. You can come alone and mind your business or you can chat with a friendly patron. It does not matter. The spot builds community without trying too hard. In good weather they have a bit of seating out front. Do not let the neighborhood scare you off. The staff is excellent and the atmosphere is homey and comfortable. I am giving these folks a solid five. They deserve it. I need to drop by again soon for some comfort food and a drink. Cheers.

To make this idea a reality, he enlisted the help of Brown (a homebrewer), Gallant (a former executive for Heineken), Voltz and Henry. Launching in 2011, the brewery initially started out simply as a brand that gypsy brewed with the help of the now defunct Cottrell Brewing Company in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. Bronx Brewery was the first brewery to launch in The Bronx since Rheingold Brewery left the borough in the 1960s. The first brew that Bronx Brewery launched was "Bronx Pale Ale". By 2014, the partners opened their own brick & mortar brewery at a former lace factory in the Port Morris section of the Bronx. A secondary taproom opened in Manhattan's East Village in late 2018, but closed in early 2025. A third taproom opened in The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards in Manhattan in November 2022. Although most of the company's co-founders have moved on to other ventures, Brown still serves as the head brewer. I visited the Bronx Brewery this past summer while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of breweries and pizzerias and this was my sixth and final stop of the day. The clientele at most craft breweries tends to be predominantly white men in their 30s and 40s. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the clientele at the Bronx Brewery was predominantly men AND women of color; pretty cool! Aside from the main taproom, the brewery features a large outdoor space (dubbed the "Backyard") which often hosts musical guests. There is also a seating area on the production floor which was dubbed "The Lab". Unfortunately, there was a private party going on when I visited and I was unable to visit the Backyard or the Lab. After looking over the beer menu, I decided to order draft pours of "Smile My Guy" (Session IPA) and "No Resolutions" (IPA). They were both pretty refreshing. The brewery is also home to its own Puerto Rican-inspired kitchen. Customers can order delicious empanadas or sandwiches from the "Empanology" menu or artisanal pizza pies from their "EmPie Artisanal Pizza" menu. After looking over the food menus, I ordered and enjoyed a delicious "Middle of Little Italy" (white wine citrus shrimp, banana peppers, fresh garlic, mozzarella) to pair with my beers. Overall, I had a really nice experience at the Bronx Brewery and I hope to visit their Hudson Yards location in the future!

I have been treated very poorly at this place in the past, however the people of At The Wallace told me to go back because servers have been changed and Chad had improved the overall experience. Since I care about the folks at At the Wallace, I decided to give them a chance. The first thing was that the waiter, an apathetic hipster, changed my seat because I was seated in a table for four people, nothing outrageous or out of the ordinary, but then I see him separating the table to allow a couple to sit there. Which made me wonder why I didn't get that treatment, but whatever. I order a medium Spicetown USA burger and a Seltzer. A different waitress brings me the seltzer and basically drops it on the table spilling some of the drink on the table. She didn't apologize for the abrupt gesture, she just turned around and went back to another table. After waiting for 30 minutes for the burger, I call another waitress (this one was friendly at least) and ask the delay, turns out the original waiter didn't even put the order. She talks to him and apologized to me. The burger comes over, but well done, instead of medium. After the two bite check up, I pointed out to the waiter who LITERALLY shrugs and goes to another table. Despite not being my desired temperature the burger and the fries were very delicious, so I will give them that. However, the service here is unforgivably bad. I don't understand why, At The Wallace is right next door, the servers and bartenders are super nice and it's also cheaper. I don't think I will go back to this place again.
