I came here for happy hour and I want to try other things. They have a very good happy hour and I would definitely recommend it. I had the sliders with fries, wings and the tequenos. The sliders were ok, a little dry but they were plump so that was good. The wings were ok as well. I didn't have a drink but what I really enjoyed was the tequenos it was as dough filled with cheese and I know it sounds simple but it was really good. They also bring a dipping sauce which was delicious. I recommend this place and will try other things off of the menu. The service is also good very welcoming. It's an interesting mix of classic American bar energy with a Peruvian twist, which makes the menu way more fun than your typical pub. Even though it was packed for the holiday, it never felt overwhelming. Lively, but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your time. I lucked out and found Broken Skull by Steve Austin here--funny because I'd been searching for it everywhere and almost ordered it online. If you're into craft beer, definitely give it a try. Didn't go for Taco Tuesday this time ($25 unlimited tacos is tempting), but I spotted birria ramen on the menu, which already guarantees I'll be back. I think this place picks up after a certain time cause it started getting busier as we were leaving. Anyways, we sat at the bar, our bartender was so dry & our drinks were weak AF. We decided to stay & order food, which was yummy !! All three of our plates we enjoyed. Music was ok but again I think they have a DJ come later in the evening. All the bartenders and staff are amazing and I commend their excellent customer service because this place can get PACKED. Went for a Wednesday Happy hour. The server and busboy were extremely nice however there is an big issue with the quality of the food and drinks. First off the happy hour margaritas were tasteless don't know if it's the mix or the syrup that they use but it was not it. We had the salchipapas which is not on the menu ( that's a good thing), the sliders, wings and some chicken tenders. The wings were delicious, the sliders were undercooked so we sent them back and received two crispy blackened patties. The chicken tenders though seasoned nicely were slimey under the bread coating‍ The salchipapas gave me indigestion and I ended up throwing up I eat out regularly and it has been over a year that I have thrown up after eating. Parking is extremely difficult to find, so take the train or park in the parking garage like we did. The outdoor seating area was a great set up, but because it was going to rain they had to remove some of the tables. We waited about an hour before we got our table which wasn't that bad. We ordered our food, I ended up getting the Cajun shrimp basket which came with Cajun seasoned fries! The portion size was generous, and the food was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We've been coming to Lock religiously for years now. They've expanded and have been able to fully improve the kitchen, menu and just the overall quality of the food. I would say I wasn't a huge fan of the food when the kitchen first opened. Im a huge foodie but certain things just didn't sit well. This is the first time I've dined in Inwood. The waitress, Kayla, was so nice and attentive. She stated it was her first week and to be honest, I would have not have known had she not stated it. She was so great and experienced. The food? Amazing. For a Peruvian spot to do tostadas?! This place aced it. The food we had was good....apart from the tacos we had crab cakes....tater tots....sliders... and wings..I loved the crab cakes.....however my friend has since return simply for the tater tots....and let me tell you the drinks are good and STRONG.....they really put alcohol in the drinks you feel the kick.....drinks are affordable as well... So the place is a little small.. decor is extremely nice....and they recieve an additional star simply because of the bathroom.....bathroom is gender neutral single bathroom...there are two ...and both were very clean and tidy.....I could not believe it...especially with the volume of people they had... The place is super chilled and laid back and its patrons had the same vibe......I would definitely be going back and recommend you go... Solid choice for brunch in the heights. Very quaint little spot that opens at 12PM on the weekends. Cheap drinks and brunch that can fill your belly to the brim. We walked in right at 12 and were seated right away. Our waitress was kind, funny, and gave a few recommendations. Her name was maybe Jenn? Any who, onto the food: Drinks Mimosas ($5) $20 2 hour unlimited was an option. Pretty slick deal if you ask me. Food -Snagged a Locksmith Burger with an egg on top. Added bacon, but it never came. A friend recommended this place when I moved to the neighborhood, but finally got around to visting it. Wow the food was amazing! To start we got cajun shrimp and fries. As soon as we unapologetically devoured the dish which has a nice cajun kick to it (I'd suggest asking for a carafe of water) we knew this was a good choice. My friend got a mushroom burger with a veggie patty and she said it was the best veggie burger she'd ever had. I had the fried calamri and fish ceviche combo. The fish ceviche was so fresh and juicy! Ask for extra sauce on the side! The only thing I did not care for was the calamri which was way overcooked, but I honestly didn't care because everything else was ao good. The dish came with two ways of corn preparation, (handful of cernels each) which were really interesting in taste. One was almost like an unpopped popcorn cernet that was hollow and easy to chew and the other almost like a boiled bean. read more

The bartender was very nice; she offered to make me another drink after I ordered something that tasted more like a spiked green juice than a cocktail but I decided to finish it and order something else. I tried their jello shots which were ok but I've definitely made better at home. We all shared their wings which were really good The decor is sexy and bathrooms are huge. POST COVID REVIEW TLDR: Decent food. Better drink. Great connections with the community. Food/Drink: 3/5 - Have ordered the wings, the chicken sandwich and the fries and shrimp from Locksmith. All were ok. If I could give the company one advice is to perfect these items from the menu since they were a bit bland when I ordered in March/April. Because of this, I prefer this spot for their to go drinks (and their awesome bar vibes pre-covid) more than the items I have ordered in the past. However, I will continue giving them a try with other food options. In the meantime, I recommend getting their henny colada or their passion fruit marg any time you order from here. Both were a hit with me with the henny colada being the preferred of the 2. I'll likely order drinks from them again and pass by once in a blue for their club bar ambiance once things are safe again. Service: 5/5 - Locksmith has been very reliable during the pandemic. Delivery during it has been impressively fast and the people who deliver were wearing masks and gloves when delivering, which I appreciated. If you're looking for relatively fast delivery this is an option. Other than this, I appreciate how embedded they are in the community. They did a lot during the peak of the pandemic to ensure that members in the community had options to stay safe (ex. Stocking up on sanitizing products to sell them to the community (no massive surcharge) before products sold out everywhere). For this reason and their standing with the community (and community events), I give them a 4. Decor/Ambiance - 4/5-N/A for Covid but when I have gone in the past, I've appreciated their style. Everything looks so fresh and so clean with a nyc vibe. COVID Pre-cautions - 4/5 - fast and safe delivery, better than most that have delivered including uber eats. Recommended for: To Go Drinks. Quarantine Edition Review: So, over the course of the past few months I've seen on Instagram posts of friends and acquaintances that would get drinks from here and I would also pass by Locksmith and see the crowds they have waiting outdoors for orders and would wonder what the big deal is about this spot...even an acquaintance of mine on Facebook had told me to try out their food. So eventually I did...stopped by 2 months ago and tried out their fries and shrimp platter, chicken fingers and piña colada. I will say they piña colada hits. Everything else though....ehhhh. Not so much. I was disappointed and not too thrilled. The fries were good but who can really mess up fries like that unless you burn em. The shrimp was just okay, nothing really special to me about it. The chicken fingers ‍....never again. They were hard and tasted like something out of school lunch. Maybe it was just a bad night. I don't know, but I'm not in a rush to go back to get food from there. MAYBE a drink but I can also make my own piñas so not so much in a rush to go back for that as well.
