I went to meet up which a couple of my friends, the place is not that big so I can see getting pack very easy. Parking is kind of hard the area has a lot of stores that make it hard to find. They have a good selection of beer and a good home beer which I drank all the time that I was there. I share the Bar 180 Nachos, which my friend's tortilla chips, black beans, Jalapenos, queso cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. The amount is pretty decent the taste was not that bad. For my may entree a had a particular burger. The Burger Washington Heights a Sausage and beef patty, quest Blanco, Dominican slaw, and yuca frita. One bad thing about this burger is that you only can get it well done because is a mix of beef sauces but the burger was pretty good and the yuca frita was on point. This past week was my 2nd visit to this location. Although the space is small, it has a cozy feel and vibe to it. HH is served until 8pm with margaritas (including flavors) mixed drink, and some beers. They offer a full food menu with tapas choices. They have a great selection of craft beer on their menu. Had the margarita that night which was nice and strong . Considering the layout of the location I wouldn't recommend this for large groups. It's a chill spot good for conversation. Came here the other day during Happy Hour (Which by the way is 1pm - 8pm). Was here around 5pm, with no crazy crowd so got to chill and relax with 2 happy hour drinks, both of which were ADEQUATELY strong. I put an emphasis on adequate because of course you do not want a drink that just doesn't do anything for you, not even a slight buzz and then you also don't wanna drink that gets you blasted out of your mind off the first try. 2 house drinks, one rum and cranberry and the other vodka with pineapple, both worked efficiently to get me nice. One of the bartenders here and I wish I would had caught her name cause she was really nice and offered me one of their beer samples since they have a nice varied selection. It is actually a bit more than the picture I posted for the review. They also have a good food menu too that I wish I would had tried but I was actually there mostly just to kill some time for a meeting I had a short time later. A decent amount of space for small groups or if you're with a causal date. What I also like about Bar180 is the music selection they had while I was there, a lot of 90's and 2000's R&B. Not sure if they were just playing that because it was a random Monday or if that is the standard playlist, which I doubt because it is in Washington Heights which is primarily Hispanic, so I would think they mix it up with some Latin flavor music. For me personally the only downside to Bar180 is that they do not have frozen margaritas which I tend to go for first over everything, especially for a bar I haven't been to before, but for what they lack for in that they make up for in everything else...at least for now. Been wanting to check out this bar for awhile. It is super adorable. My friend and I came after a gym session, clearly trying to eat back the little calories we burnt off. We sat at the bar bc it was really crowded by the time we arrive (7:30pm ish). The bartender that served us was super sweet and helpful. She suggested a beer we liked a lot so we both got one and we also ordered grilled chicken wings! So great that they had that as a healthier option for wings. We got the garlic parmesan flavor and they were very tasty. The total of the bill came out to about $30. Not bad for 2 beers and wings! Since I live just a few blocks away I've visited several times - late night for friends' parties, early afternoons for brunch, and weekdays during happy hour. I boosted my rating based on my previous visits but I went today to have a few drinks and the experience wasn't that positive. My sister and I sat at the bar and the bartender was really friendly. The happy hour special is great, $2 off drafts, $5 sangria and well drinks, and $2 shots. My sister ordered a Schofferhofer ($5) and I got a delirium tremens ($8). I was excited to order food because its usually pretty good but I was disappointed. We got the crispy shrimp appetizer and there was something off about the taste, not sure if it was the oil they were fried in or the shrimp itself. Not inedible but a little weird. We also got yucca fries which were just okay. They have karaoke at 9pm on Wednesdays and other events throughout the week. There's lots of seating both inside and outside, great music and plenty of games. It's a very fun spot overall so I hope they're not falling off. My friend even asked the bartender but because there were two versions of the same beer, she was charged regular price while the other one was happy hour price. It got confusing. Established in 2015 it has likely led the way for other uptown ventures in the hood such as Pocion and The Uptown Garrison. The place is small and the décor is cute. It manages to look trendy but still be warm and inviting. The washroom was really cute as well - the back of the door was painted like a 5 of hearts playing card. The patrons were very friendly and my friend and I even shared a table with a group and had a chat to them. The serving staff were quick to engage us and bring over menus. The bartender noticed my taking a photo of the beer menu to take back to the table and let me know their longer list was on beermenus.com I was impressed with the very decent craft beer list. If you order a pint it will come in a very Instagram-friendly mason jar decked out with the Bar 180 name and logo. I tried a couple of IPAs that were new to me and they were great. I asked the server which cocktail she recommended on the list and she was adament I get the Mulo Mexicano. I can attest to the fact that it is a solid cocktail. Spicy, flavorful and not too sweet. My friends even ordered a round after trying mine. In terms of food options they have pub-esque options such as tacos, nachos and burgers. They have a veggie burger but I wasn't in the mood so I inquired about tacos. Although they don't offer vegetarian tacos on the menu they made me some with black beans and mushrooms because the kitchen was slow - really appreciated the gesture. Memorial Day 2019, my friends and I went to bar 180 for drinks and some food this was our experience. We first walked in to no one to to greet us. We waiting about 3 minutes and just decided to sit down at an empty table. After making eye contact with several employees in the establishment we were not approached until 15 minutes later by the person who appeared to be the floor manager. She asked us if we have been provided menus or if our order has been taken. We informed her that neither happened, she provided menus. After taking a look at the menus we waited about another 15 minutes with their menus closed to have our order taken. At this point we have not received the drink menu or any water for the table. The floor manager kindly provided drink menus after another while. We placed our drink orders and the drinks took about 20 minutes to be prepared and delivered to us. We also asked for waters and those were not delivered until we asked a third time. Unfortunately our food was also mild in temperature being that the waiter did not know who to deliver it to. We saw him walking out with our food look around confused and walk back to the kitchen to figure things out. We received our waters about halfway through our meal. At that point we waited about an hour for water. Once we were done with our drinks and food we asked for the check and what we received was a handwritten itemized receipt. It was then that they decided to inform us that it was cash only for that day. Fortunately one of my friends had enough money to cover the bill, unfortunately none of them recognize customer service and did not comp any items on the bill given their poor service skills. It's so sad to see a new business like this feel on the basic principles of restaurant etiquette and service. No one at this establishment seem to care that they were doing a bad job. read more

Ah, finally a craft beer bar in the heights! Bar 180 has been open for about a month, but I just found out about it recently. This place is a small to medium sized bar with group tables (around 6 people), smaller tables (2-4 people), and bar seating. There are 3 large TV screens in the place so you should be able to see a screen when you're there. The ambiance is great and reminds me of that old school metal look which has been popular recently. Beers are reasonable priced for the selection. This bar rotates their taps so there can be new beer every day! A lot of craft beers are on tap (I'm guessing 20? See the pictures). Happy hour is a great deal and their $5 sangria is actually very tasty. I'm not usually a big sangria person but I took one sip of my girlfriend's sangria and had to order my own. The bar is currently in its soft open phase and are ironing out their business plan. For example, the kitchen is not open yet and they have no website. The person who I talked to there said both are in the works and that the food will be a gastropub theme with Latin flair. I'm definitely excited for the kitchen to open! First off, my first visit to Bar 180 last year was fantastic. Sat at the bar, enjoyed good drinks, food and conversation with the patrons and bartenders. A breath of fresh air to the neighborhood that was in dire need of a bar like this. But on my recent second visit, things couldn't have gone any worse. This review falls completely on the manager and management. I used to work in the industry and do not blame inexperienced servers or barbacks. Arrived on a friday during happy hour at 6pm. I first noticed there were alot of people walking and running around. They were switching shifts. WHO SWITCHES SHIFTS DURING HAPPY HOUR ON FRIDAY AT 6PM??? First sign of bad things to come. (Also noticed a manager interviewing an applicant at a nearby table. Who does job interviews during your busiest time and takes up a table doing it while people at the door were looking for seats?) Server #1 brought menus to us at 6:05. I asked about happy hour specials. He had no idea what they were and took another few minutes looking for the happy hour menu. 6:15 - After waiting a while because of the shift changing commotion, a bartender comes over and takes our drinks. Guess what, they didn't have the beer I wanted from the digital menu on the wall. Ok, next beer. Didn't have that either. Got my 3rd try beer about 5 mins later. You read that right, got my 1st drink in hand at 6:20. 6:20 - A busboy rushes over after noticing (or told to come over) us waiting to order food. He takes our order and relays it to a server. That's server #3. 6:25 - A 4th server comes over to our to table to verify our order just in case the busboy got it wrong. She was at least very friendly and professional and apologized for the commotion and wait time. 20 mins pass by. 6:45 - My friend got her shrimp tacos which were pretty good. 6:55 - My friend finished her tacos. I still haven't seen my burger. I ask the server to wrap it up to go because we had to be somewhere at 7:30. 7:10 - Finally got my burger and paid the bill. I left hungry and in a rush. 70 mins in the bar and didn't get to eat. All of this could've been avoided if there was a manager actually managing instead of unnecessary chaos like shift changing at 6pm and interviewing job seekers during happy hour. Take 86'ed items off the menu and beer list. Train your servers to know what is on the happy hour menu. Make sure your 2nd shift employees show up on time. Lastly, this bar has an identity crisis, it doesn't know what it wants to be. Are you a craft beer bar? Because being told you don't have a certain beer on the menu twice isn't fun. Are you a sports bar? Because at 6pm on a friday, you were showing TNT drama shows on the TV. (Not to mention they don't have NFL package during football season.) Also, the menus. My god, those menus. By far the worst menu design I've ever seen. It's BLACK LETTERS ON BROWN BACKGROUNDS with wood details. You can barely read it in the light, let alone when they turn down the lights for that fake romantic feel. (Also what romantic feel? the place is loud AF, which is fine by me but you don't need candlelights at a bar showing Law and Order on the TV.) For god sakes, change that menu design, it will cost you $50 at Kinkos. Really want this bar to do well because the neighborhood needs it so bad. I highly recommend you come check this place out. It can get a tad loud, so perhaps some nights might not be the best for a romantic evening, per se. However if you're pining for a refreshing beer or cocktail, this place is for you. They have an incredible array of various beers that rotate, guaranteeing everyone will find one they enjoy. **As of my most recent visit, the inordinately loud music has been reeled WAY in, making the atmosphere much, much more inviting and comfortable. (Hopefully on the recommendations of patrons. I know I said something. I don't understand how any establishment smaller than a midtown club can consider BLASTING music in people's faces to be pleasant.) It's a great bar otherwise! The games for your table are a nice touch. Love the way they designed and laid out the space. The "murphy" style fold-up tables were a great idea. I even love them down to the wood grain. Lighting and speaker placement up in the ceiling add a visual interest in addition to other decor, and look good. Some prior reviews have criticized 180's constantly changing and on some occasions, limited beer selection. I don't disagree. I've often found the beer I'm craving, followed by my second and even third selection thereafter, to be "unavailable". Bar 180's house Pilsener was a favorite of mine. Sadly, they seem to have pulled that beer from their selection which, when I'm considering where to go for a beer, is a deal breaker. If you're the kind of person that likes to throw yourself at new, esoteric craft beers every night without a preference, then you're in luck. Well, first I will say that the food we got was cooked very well. The yucca fries were very good, broccoli was well-seasoned, and chicken was not overdone. However. We sat down and asked for water and fajitas. The server told us she would check to see if they still had fajitas, and went away for a while. She came back and asked us what we wanted. We reminded her that we had asked for water, and she was going to check if fajitas were still available. She went away again for another while. When she came back, she did bring water, but told us no fajitas. We had been there about ten minutes at this point. We looked at the menu again, and chose a chicken breast dish with corn salsa and two sides, and nachos. We asked what beer they had on tap, and were told "it's on the screen." As we were sitting outside, we couldn't see the screen, so the server offered to bring samples of dark beer that I might like. After another 15-20 minutes, she brought samples of two beers, neither one dark. But one was definitely more appealing that the other, so I asked for that. Another 20 minutes went by. The server told us she was waiting for the bartender to draw my beer. She wasn't sure where our food was, but she would check. After about ten more minutes, my beer finally was served. It was strong and good, so there's that I guess. After we had been waiting about an hour, our food finally appeared. Well, some of it did. The chicken breast with sides was served, but without any silverware and without the salsa that was part of the dish on the menu. The runner asked if we wanted anything else and our natural response was, "the rest of our food." He said he would check and came back to tell us that there was no other food ordered for our table. At this point I told him to ignore the nachos and just bring some silverware. He brought one set and I was forced to ask for another so we could share the one dish. We asked about the missing corn salsa and were told that they were out of it. No substitute or alternative was offered. I came here after work for happy hour. I enjoyed the energy and ambiance. They have decent happy hour drink specials but none for food. I had two $5 happy hour sangrias. The sangrias were solid: nice taste and not too strong. To eat, I had steak tacos: 3 in an order for $10. The steak was flavorful and the guacamole in the tacos was perfect. What was going to be a birthday disaster turned into a birthday miracle! I came here earlier this year for karaoke night and my best friend loved it so much that we decided to surprise and celebrate her birthday here. The waitress gave us the option of sitting outside and moving in when the karaoke started/tables were available. Drinks are made very good if nothing else. The food is hit or miss depending on what you get. The best thing I tasted was the chicken nachos. Some of the food once it got to the table was cold so that brings the rating down to a degree. But honestly if you come for the drinks, in which they have a very expansive beer menu as well, you'll be more than satisfied. We came on a Sunday, during happy hour. Pretty good selections and prices. The service was good too. The food took awhile to come out but as far as everything else, not bad at all. Worth a second visit. read more

went here once after work, food and drinks were good. Its a bit small and the service took a little while to come around and clean the table although i was standing next to the empty table for maybe like 10 mins before i asked is someone sitting in order for them to come around and clean it.
