Came here for brunch a couple Sunday ago - please was pretty empty (could have been due to the rain). The service was very slow because they had one person as waiter/bartender but he was super friendly and really made up for it with how nice and helpful he was. I ordered the burger with tots and my friends got the French toast with bacon. The burger was pretty good, nothing crazy. I did love the tater tots, they were super crispy. I didn't try the French toast but my friend seemed to enjoy it and said the bacon was crispy. It was a huge portion so she ended up taking half of it home. They have a pretty good beer selection and play some really awesome music. Overall, the perfect neighborhood spot for a quick beer or chill night out. read more

THE FISH CEVICHE!!! So good, I literally drank the juice. And the salsa verde was so good, I saved it to put on other things.

Came here due to all the rage behind their colada drinks. And I should say that they're worth the drive! (Came down from yonkers). You have to order food when you order a beverage to go. (according to the bartender.) My friend and I found that odd, but since we really wanted to try them we browsed the menu. We found out they're Peruvian which was a shock to us. We went with the "salchipapas" which were delicious! And our 2 Henny Coladas and it was reasonably priced. The drinks were delicious and cold! The pancakes are to die for and the rosemary potatoes are so tiny you can pop them into your mouth each and every time. I really want to love this place but every time I come I remember why is it that I don't. The place is a little overrated - I feel like after they expanded(which great for them) they became a little eh lol. I haven't had a full meal here yet I did try some of my friends Salchipapa which were good. Now the drinks - the margarita on the rocks are not so good, taste like lime from the bottle. The frozen one on the rocks with the extra shot of Don Julio did the job though. The vibes here can be cool when there's music playing - I went on a weekday and they had the music off outside "do to a complaint" which sucked. read more

It was a good drink for a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly strong. The calamari was crispy and they made their own tartar sauce and that thing was good. After tasting the chicken sandwhich, I wasn't impressed. It was alright but nothing extravagant. I should have gotten the lomo Saltado like the waiter recommended. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Security is very unprofessional, kicked me out because I was supposedly sitting in someone's seat AT THE BAR , there is not assigned seats at the bar. Also, when I got kicked out they made a lie saying I was being inappropriate with woman when I was not, security guard at the door said he'll check the cameras and he never did. please do not give your money to this establishment , there are a lot of better spots in uptown. definitely not a good customer experience in there. read more

Service and food were GREAT!!! The sidewalk seating is perfect. It even rained after we got there and I didn't get wet . My bartender Brandon was AMAZING! Probably has experience at a high end restaurant. He doesn't write anything down and remembered everything we specified! We went there for ciders and burgers and got just that. This is supposed to the the impossible burger that comes with lettuce, tomato, cashew vegan cheese and avocado. A few things wrong here. 1) I am most certain this is a beyond patty. 2) the avocado must invisible 3) the fries and patty were both were undercooked Whether they were out of impossible patties or there was a menu change, if the order that is being delivered is not the item that shows on the receipt, the restaurant needs to let the customer know. A gem! I first started going here years ago for the party vibes. When it was a small box and the dj was set up in the corner. This was the last place I partied at for my b day 2020 before the lockdown. Now for the food and drinks. Everything is delicious. I've had the lomo saltado numerous times. As well as the locksmith burger. You can't go wrong with them. Tasty and filling. My go to drink is the daiquiri. So good! read more

I've developed much respect for the Locksmith over the few years I've lived in the hood. Pre-COVID it was lunch place, brunch place, dinner place, craft beer bar and small club on weekend nights. It also hosted We Run Uptown on a Monday night. During the pandemic Locksmith was one of the only places in the neighborhood that stayed open the entire time. They completely changed their business model and also incorporated delivery of needed items in partnership with a bodega so that customers could get toilet paper etc. with their lunch order. Stopping by for a take out henny colada or craft beer made my day in the early pandemic months. They're very ingrained in the community and the community rallied around them. The staff were resilient and positive through it all. Their food at the moment is pub food, burgers and Peruvian. They've got good craft beers and also do cocktails and general full service for drinks. I hope in future there will be more vegan and vegetarian items again, but appreciate that they keep the menu fresh and need to change up what isn't resonating. I hope in the near future they'll be hosting runners again on Mondays. Thanks Locksmith. You're a mainstay in the neighborhood and have shone through this pandemic. I've gone to Locksmith for years and no doubt it's a staple in our hood for many reasons. But the Ceviche de pescado/Jalea combo and yucca fries I ordered for delivery tonight almost made me cry tears of joy. Seriously, everything is spot on. Reminds me of the ceviche my Peruvian grandfather would bring home every weekend when I was a kid. 100% authentic. P.S. The Lomo Saltado slaps & I have to stop myself from ordering it all the time. Locksmith is a great neighborhood bar. I've been coming here for years, way before the renovation/expansion and I've had mostly good experiences. Went recently in the early evening to meet up with some friends and everything went pretty good. I had been dying to try the shrimp basket which everyone raves about and I was not disappointed. The shrimp was amaaaazing! Every bite was more delicious than the last and the tartar sauce they provide is great as well. The order comes with cajun fries (sooo delicious) but I got mine with yuca fries which were not as good - way too dry and lacked flavor. Service was fast and our waitress was awesome, she even gave our group complimentary shots before we left. Docked one star because things get a little crazier during the night events. The bouncer is not the nicest and I've had times where he has denied my friends and I entrance on the basis that it's too packed but then lets people he knows in. I also heard about them not letting someone in because she was dressed in "fighting clothes" aka leggings. Not the best customer service per say but you should come and judge for yourself. read more

Came here for a Sunday brunch at around 1:30pm. I've been to Locksmith Bar a few years ago but since they have expanded in size and are much more spacious. It my was not crowded and me & my friend were able to get a table without any reservations. We opted for the bottomless brunch(mimosas,bellinis, & screwdrivers) but we stick with the mimosa option. They gave us crafts of mimosas at a time an kept them flowing the entire time. For my meal I had the 'Shroom Burger with truffle fries'. The food was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. I must say I enjoyed the food and drinks during this bottomless brunch for 2 hours. It also was not expensive at all($18 for the bottomless). Also they had several TVs there so I was able to watch the football and college basketball games that were going on while I was there. I definitely will return here for brunch and try some of their other food options. read more

HH: I've been coming here for years and I was happy on the upgrade of the space. Locksmith was tiny and they took over the space next door. Now it's much bigger, you had to have some patience with waiting on your food to come out. No problem for me the wings are delicious and worth the wait. They also have nice drinks to keep you waiting nicely. Or so I thought? What happened to the buffalo wings? They use to be saucy, somewhat crispy with juicy white meat. The wings I got were small dry, really salty, soft with so much gummy parts (hate hate hate). Honestly, they resembled exactly the wings you get at the hot section of the supermarket. My bf had the Cajun chicken sandwich and the Ciabatta bread was rock hard. I would've sent it back for better bread but he chose not to and opted to eat the second half as a bread less sandwich. Pretty disappointing. Highlight - Happy Hour ends at 7 (boo) but I was out early due to Labor Day holiday. They offered mojitos which is a plus for me. Shout out to our waitress! She was manning both the tables and the bar alone on a Friday evening during happy hour. Despite a full house on our side: no empty tables and more people waiting for seating, she was doing a great job. You could see the pressure mounting but she was always smiling. After jamming at a new venue for a Open Mic with a good sincere friend, we both got locked-in at Locksmith. An intimate wine and burger bar where the burgers at $10.95 are the reason to be locked-in. N.B. Avoid the cocktail drinks as it is very discouraging steep in price at $11.00 each and hones a strong alcohol content. Their burgers are delicious and contains solid definite underwriting for substance. My house salad at $7.95 was good to delight my appetite, which I freefall for food envy into my date's burger. The music is monster truck loud to drown all conversation where a malice remix for an updated version of 1987's Dirty Dancing "Time Of My Life" by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes is played. Great local spot in Upper Manhattan (the forgotten gem of the city). It's now called "Hudson Heights" which is really Washington Heights and Inwood. Always count on a great burger and friendly service. Sometimes they have a DJ and promotional events like Bacardi tasting evenings. Warning the DJ nights can get pretty old so come and enjoy!
