I'm giving them 5 stars because they have really good food and they pulled off running a restaurant out of a house. The "restaurant" is on the patio of a house in a neighborhood full of houses, not a business in sight. There's a nice view from their patio. We were the only ones there around 1 PM on a Saturday afternoon. But the food was good, so I guess others just haven't heard of it yet. I had the BBQ pork with vermicelli. I was born in Saigon, so the Pho soup had brought back my childhood, flavorful and amazing, I forgot to take pic of Pho bowl, but trust me, it is delicious and they said No MSG, it is a good point. We are the only customers & we met Lee & Tram, the husband & wife team whose brainchild is this aptly named Tiny Saigon. So impressed with this spot! It is at a home but it is done so nicely it feels like a restaurant. You enter through the side gate and there are plenty of seating options. I came on a warm day and the shade and fans made the area nice and cool. You can see into the kitchen where the magic happens and the area looks nice and tidy. What a hidden gem! I drove all the way from Newport Beach to visit Tiny Saigon, and it was absolutely worth it. One of the most unique things about this restaurant is that it's located in the owners' home, with the cutest backyard dining area that creates such a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. The couple who runs it works incredibly hard, and their kindness and hospitality shine through in everything they do. I saw a short video of this place on social media and this immediately peek my interest. I immediately was thinking, hmmm, a restaurant in someone's backyard? This is something new and intriguing. So I was curious and said to myself that I want to go here and give it a try. So on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we met up here with my wonderful friend and her lovely family for lunch. We were a party of 5. This restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parkings on the street across from their home. Make sure you don't park in front of people's homes. Just park on the opposite side of the street. Walking towards the home, we could see the entrance to the left side of the home with the Open sign, that leads us to their backyard, where the restaurant is. The dining area is well decorated. They have nice decors throughout the backyard. I love that they even have a spa. The view from here is breath taking. You can see the beautiful mountain ranges in the background. The very nice and friendly lady came out with a big smile to greet and welcomed us to the restaurant. After she sat us, she brought out the menu and water. The menu is quite simple. The 3 main categories are Pho, Vermicelli Noodle Bowls, and Rice Dishes. They also have Fried Rice and Short Rib Plate. They have several appetizer items as well. I like the fact that they only carry the most popular dishes you would normally find at any Vietnamese Pho restaurants. This allows them to concentrate on fewer items and making it fresh and delicious. Just like In-N-Out Burgers, where they only sell burgers, fries, and drinks, and nothing else. There are no chicken sandwiches, no hot dogs, just delicious burgers. This allows In-N-Out to concentrate on making good burgers. So the concept is similar here at Tiny Saigon. Serving fewer items, but fresh and delicious. We ordered Pho Dac Biet, Grilled Chicken Vermicelli, Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli, Rare Steak Pho, Egg Rolls, and Coffee. The Pho was so delicious. The broth was out of this world. I asked my lovely wife how she likes her grilled chicken vermicelli, and she said it was awesome beyond words. My good friend and her daughters said they thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. After enjoying our delicious meals, we had the pleasure of conversing with the friendly and cheerful owner. She talked about how they started this business. We had a very long and informative chat. We enjoyed listening to her story. She and her husband work tirelessly to prepare our delicious meals and we really appreciate that. For those wondering, yes, they do except credit card here. They also have license to operate this business. So don't worry, if you are curious as I did, please come and give them a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised. My good friends recommended Tiny Saigon to us. They, my daughters, and I came here last weekend. It offers a new kind of intimate and cozy dining experience at a residential home. Yes, this restaurant is located in the backyard of the owners personal home. Neat, huh? Don't worry... they have a license to run this restaurant at their house. Their kitchen is the industrial kind. Cool! There is street parking available across from their house. You enter through on the left side of the house garage. There is a small standing chalk board that says Tiny Saigon in the front. As you walk in, you will see the Tiny Saigon sign above the gate. Walk right in and you'll see the backyard to your right. Space is quite comfortable. Decor is nice. They even have two TVs. The views are gorgeous. Restrooms are available for use. We sat at one of the larger tables since there were 5 of us. Menu is limited to their signature dishes. Prices are very reasonable. My eldest daughter got the grilled chicken with vermicelli plus Vietnamese iced coffee. My youngest daughter got the pho with rare steak. I got the grilled shrimp with vermicelli. We also got two orders of pork & shrimp egg rolls... each comes with 4. OMG... all our dishes were amazingly delicious and yummy. Chicken had great tasting lemongrass flavor and portions were lots. Shrimps were grilled to perfection and of good size. Pho soup was authentic and savory. Egg rolls were crispy and full of ingredients. Veggies were fresh and plentiful. Water was very refreshing. And NO MSG in any of their foods! When it was time for the bill, my friends surprised us by treating us the lunch. Thank you so much my friends! You are too kind and generous. Owners were really nice, friendly, and hospitable. They were very open to share their story on how they got started in the restaurant business and what lead them to a more intimate setting. Tiny Saigon has an element that is missing from your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The fact that this place is in a residential single family home's backyard is one thing, but the fact that there's great professionalism in their service, their food, and the overall presentation of this place just makes me want to come back weekly. The neighborhood is in the hills of corona, so the ambiance is well balanced with views, good weather, and some delicious eats with the cuisine. The lady who helped us was very friendly and nice, we ordered two regular pho bowls and some spring rolls. I have to say that these items were better than any restaurant I've been to for Vietnamese cuisine. The broth was light, full of flavor, and the bowl was so balanced. I enjoyed the entire dish and even finished the broth while I don't do that for other places. Located in a residential neighborhood, one might miss this spot hidden around the corner of a home! When we arrived there was a short waitlist (it was fairly busy), and we were let in into the dining area in the backyard, which felt very nice and homy. We ordered the egg rolls (Cha goi), short ribs (cóm dish), and combo noodles (bún), which were all fantastic. The staff (the family running it) were very warm and sweet. What an incredible experience. First of all, yes this restaurant is in somebody's back yard. Second of all, this is gonna be some of the best Vietnamese food you'll find and the whole experience is so unique. The owner was welcoming and you can tell they had a passion for their food and took pride in the dishes they served. Prices are also better than what you pay at a restaurant. Of course the best part is that you're literally having a home cooked meal. Fresh ingredients, clean cooking. You won't find anything like this elsewhere. Since Tiny Saigon has only been open for 4 months, we thought this would be a "new adventure for us. But when she greeted us with a "Welcome back", we discovered we already knew this friendly proprietor! We've known her from way back when she was the original owner of a pho restaurant in downtown Corona CA. And we had loved her food. So what happened? 3 years ago, she sold her business and returned to Vietnam. Luckily for us, two years later she returned, wiser, just as energetic, and just as entrepreneurial. So now, to our surprise, she and her husband have started this small, fully licensed restaurant that is based in her own immaculate home in the hills, with a lovely view. She mentioned that some of her most loyal customers happen to be doctors from the nearby Kaiser Hospital complex. If you enjoy calm, al fresco dining, this is the place. Dining is only outdoors on a cutely decorated, shaded, intimate patio with misters and fans to help deal with those extreme heat days. She can seat about 25 people at a time. They are open for lunch on Sunday until 3 pm, and then re-open on Tuesdays through Saturdays for lunch and dinner. Her petite garden features fruit trees, exotic orchid plants, and other greenery. Very welcoming. The menu is a quite abbreviated, just one page, but featuring most everything I would be inclined to order. Options include simple variations of beef, shrimp, chicken, and pork. But on our first visit, it had to be all about the crispy eggrolls and bbq pork entrees. We started with an order (4) of the minced pork eggrolls. They were perfect. I had always thought hers were the best! They still are! She also serves a pork/shrimp version, and she makes beautiful spring rolls, the type rolled in an soft, opaque rice paper filled with big fat shrimp and other goodies, which we did not try. At our request, her husband fired up the outdoor bbq in the corner to make my Bún thịt nướng ($14). Starting with a bowl of chopped romaine, cilantro, basil, cucumber, bean sprouts, and carrots, it is topped with vermicelli noodles, a generous portion of delicious pork bbq, roasted peanuts, and a side of the quintessential, sweet-spicy fish sauce based sauce. This has always been my favorite dish. Mr B ordered the same bbq pork as his protein, but plated with white rice. We were both stunned at how incredible everything tasted. The raw vegetables were super crisp, the marinated meat was fresh off the bbq grill, perfectly seared and so tender and flavorful. This was definitely a step up from her previous restaurant where the meats had to be cooked indoors on a griddle. Better yet, no MSG. And definitely not needed. The clincher was, the surprising food prices that clearly undercut the other local Vietnamese restaurants. Imagine prices from a year or two ago with thrilling, generous portions. As the weather cools, I believe she mentioned there will be more pho options. This is good news... I recall her pho broth was brilliant, far better than most. We are thrilled to re-connect with this owner, even though it was by pure luck and the urgency of some very enthusistic Yelpers. So excited to get a good local Vietnamese restaurant around here! The restaurant is a nice cozy neighborhood. There seems to be a wait because they have been so popular, but it is worth it. There is limited seating (I think I saw maybe 8 or 9 tables?) which is also probably contributing to the wait times to be seated. The auntie was welcoming and we got our food and drinks quickly. I had the combination vermicelli bowl and it was filled with color and packed to the brim with ingredients. Flavor profile is spot on. Don't be afraid to use the fish sauce that comes with it (the name is deceiving, it's not fishy at all). The iced coffee was fairly priced and strong. So today, Aleesa and I made a trip out to Tiny Saigon, despite its name, packed a humongous punch of Vietnamese flavors! We ordered Shrimp and Pork Egg rolls, TWO orders of Spring Rolls (they were that refreshing and delicious), and I ordered the Shrimp/Chicken/Egg Roll Vermicelli which came with a sweet chili vinaigrette. Everything was crazy delicious!!! And the atmosphere was so homey... because the restaurant is in the literal backyard of their home!!!
