At my young age, I'll take the risk of sounding like a broken record. Because my experience here at Tin Fish is the reason why I (and millions of us) Yelp. To find the best, local businesses anywhere. Period. Driving along SR 70 can be rather dull. Luckily, when the slightest form of a town came into existence, my mouth began to salivate on the steering wheel. Opened my Yelp app to find Tin Fish, and my stomach wouldn't stop thanking me for the remainder of the drive. This restaurant has incredibly high ceilings, outdoor seating and an open kitchen. Oh, and you're greeted by two life-size alligators that will scare the absolute crap out of you upon entering. You've been warned. The waitress, who was an absolute gem, covered the entire dining area herself, and suggested the fried flounder special. YUM! Light, flakey and full of flavor. The accompanying french fries hit the spot. And the slaw, although liquidy, was a nice palette cleanser. I never would've found this restaurant if it weren't for Yelp. The one good thing I can say is that the service was exceptional. I had the kaboom shrimp. It was okay but heavy on the mayonnaise and hardly any spice. I also had the lobster PoBoy. It should be a grilled lobster but it was fried. It was mostly batter with no lobster. I got it with Sweet potato fries. They were burnt! We happened upon this place by accident and I'm so glad we did! Our server Mel was the sweetest! She put up with our family and our shenanigans and didn't even seem bothered by us. The place is primarily seafood, but there are some chicken options. I will say the veggie taco was a little strange. It had orange carrots, yellow carrots, and pea pods in it. It tasted fine, it was just strange. Everyone enjoyed their food: mahi taco, chicken taco, gator taco, cheese quesadilla, cheeseburger. The fries were fresh and hot! So yummy! I also really enjoyed their cole slaw which was more vinegar then creamy/mayo based like some. Next time we are passing through, we will definitely stop again! read more

While the shrimp were cooked properly the green beans didn't seem like they were fresh (probably canned). The boom boom shrimp were also drowning in sauce... 4. Some surprisingly good menu items but some pretty bland too. We had the fish dip which was really great! Also had the lobster po' boy on the waitress's recommendation. Seemed like an interesting idea, but just tasted like deep fried batter. Shrimp tacos were tasty with a nice sauce on them. The downside was that some of the stuff seemed to be straight off the Sysco supply truck, like the bland fries and frozen veggies side. We really enjoyed our meal. We are traveling with our greyhounds and we're allowed to have them with is in the patio. As soon as we were seated, the server brought water AND treats for our hounds! If it wasn't for the service, I would give this place 2 stars for food. Wings were good but mahi tasted like cardboard. Mahi fish tacos were ok but nothing spectacular. Absolutely delicious! I got the blackened grouper with tartar sauce over coleslaw, onion rings, key lime pie. The Buffalo wings breaded were also so delicious. We come every weekend! What a cool place. I almost didn't give this place a chance because it's a chain. Am glad I did. Food is good, staff knowledgeable and friendly. Michelle was our waitress she was outstanding. Her suggestions were perfect. I had the cornbread, omg that's good. A cross between a sugar cookie and corn bread. It was served with a sweet butter that complemented it perfect. Then we had the fried clam strips that were good, I think they used corn meal on the batter, I tasted something sweet. Then I had a fish platter that Michelle recommended that was delish. We had to ask for silverware and napkins well after our food was delivered (had to flag her down at the counter since no one returned to check on us). Eventually she brought our bill but didn't ask how things went or if we wanted dessert (which we did). We walked in to see a great seafood restaurant setting. They had boats, fishes and fishing equipment and I can't forget the 2 alligators that greeted us as we walked in. The four of us were seated in a booth with both open ends, I loved this concept because I like sitting in booths except for getting in and out when you're sitting on the inside. The waiter was great we had some questions and he admitted to us he had only been working there three weeks and went and got someone to answer all our questions. He even gave us a sample of one of the side dishes to make sure we liked it. Everything on the menu sounded great, I got the grilled snapper with rice and coleslaw for the sides. Came to this place on a recommendation to get some local wild fish. We were created by 2 alligators. Of course anyone who lives in okeechobee knows alligators are in the wild everywhere here. We sat down to a rather empty place. I think people eat later here. Greated by a spirited waiter. He was very pleasant. The menu is extensive with all sorts of seafood. From fish tacos to grilled wild snapper. Several sides as well. My wife and I had the snapper and one other friend ordered the wild grouper. We also had the seafood chowder which was some of the best I have ever eaten. They could had used a little more meat. The dinner came and we ordered the 4oz portion but there is an 8 oz too. It was plenty along with rice and cole slaw and a copious amount of Fred broccoli. I couldn't had been more pleased for. $14 meal. They have several grea desert entries but not today. The manager had a meeting with waitstaff right next to our table which was a tad distracting. Dessert came out fancy like in a douple chipped plate. Staff wear jeans which is no issue but there was a lot of pulling up and tugging on those jeans. The more I sat there the more uncleanliness that I saw. The adorable fishing decor was dusty, there was clutter near the front entrance, shoe scuffs at the host stand, doors were thick with grime and bathrooms coated with drips and smudges and seat covers not offered. I know when you work in an environment long enough you don't see the details but your patrons do. Team- if you have time to lean you have time to clean. I asked if I could take pics so I did.
