Great find while passing through town! We were passing through Okeechobee and did a quick Yelp search and found this gem. The place is somewhat small inside, but is clean and well-lit with a fun nautical theme throughout. The menu has a good mix of seafood options prepared in a variety of ways. The price was a bit high, but overall seemed pretty fair for the size of the portions. I had the fish tacos which I thought were very good. We also had some wings for the table and they had good flavor and meat to them. Our server was friendly, although she got a bit slower at the end when she had a couple other tables to tend to. The place was only about half full at the time, however. Overall its a nice clean place for seafood at a reasonable price. Parking is super easy. I would come back. read more

Have eaten here twice now! Every time we have been here in the back by bathrooms it always looks like they're getting ready to remodel or it's a storage hallway. The service today 4/12/25 not good! The waitress who has been there a while charged us $1 each for a side of ranch & kaboom sauce without telling us. Then flat out lied to my face when I asked how much the sweet potato fries were instead of the regular fries. She said .50 cents but charged us $2.50. Then we had to eat our entire meal with nothing to drink because there was something wrong with the water & pipes! The manager was told about this over the phone and offered us NOTHING for the not so great lunch and that we came all the way from West Palm Beach. Will NEVER eat at this restaurant again!!!! And the manager didn't know the difference between grilled & fried shrimp. The shrimp tacos had no breading on them and were suppose to be tossed in the kaboom sauce. She said they were fried and tossed in sauce and I know sauce won't stick to shrimp without breading or anything for that matter. This is probably the best restaurant in Okeechobee. They definitely have the best seafood and it's not even close. You have to try the fried gator. I normally get the fried shrimp and lobster tacos. You really can't go wrong with that combination. It's the best of both worlds. They also have some excellent key lime pie. I'm not really a dessert person but I'm a sucker for some key lime pie. At my young age, I'll take the risk of sounding like a broken record. Because my experience here at Tin Fish is the reason why I (and millions of us) Yelp. To find the best, local businesses anywhere. Period. Driving along SR 70 can be rather dull. Luckily, when the slightest form of a town came into existence, my mouth began to salivate on the steering wheel. Opened my Yelp app to find Tin Fish, and my stomach wouldn't stop thanking me for the remainder of the drive. This restaurant has incredibly high ceilings, outdoor seating and an open kitchen. Oh, and you're greeted by two life-size alligators that will scare the absolute crap out of you upon entering. You've been warned. The waitress, who was an absolute gem, covered the entire dining area herself, and suggested the fried flounder special. YUM! Light, flakey and full of flavor. The accompanying french fries hit the spot. And the slaw, although liquidy, was a nice palette cleanser. I never would've found this restaurant if it weren't for Yelp. We happened upon this place by accident and I'm so glad we did! Our server Mel was the sweetest! She put up with our family and our shenanigans and didn't even seem bothered by us. The place is primarily seafood, but there are some chicken options. I will say the veggie taco was a little strange. It had orange carrots, yellow carrots, and pea pods in it. It tasted fine, it was just strange. Everyone enjoyed their food: mahi taco, chicken taco, gator taco, cheese quesadilla, cheeseburger. The fries were fresh and hot! So yummy! What a cool place. I almost didn't give this place a chance because it's a chain. Am glad I did. Food is good, staff knowledgeable and friendly. Michelle was our waitress she was outstanding. Her suggestions were perfect. I had the cornbread, omg that's good. A cross between a sugar cookie and corn bread. It was served with a sweet butter that complemented it perfect. Then we had the fried clam strips that were good, I think they used corn meal on the batter, I tasted something sweet. Then I had a fish platter that Michelle recommended that was delish. We had to ask what the "Taco Tuesday" special was (mentioned on the chalkboard). We had to ask for silverware and napkins well after our food was delivered (had to flag her down at the counter since no one returned to check on us). Eventually she brought our bill but didn't ask how things went or if we wanted dessert (which we did). We walked in to see a great seafood restaurant setting. They had boats, fishes and fishing equipment and I can't forget the 2 alligators that greeted us as we walked in. The four of us were seated in a booth with both open ends, I loved this concept because I like sitting in booths except for getting in and out when you're sitting on the inside. The waiter was great we had some questions and he admitted to us he had only been working there three weeks and went and got someone to answer all our questions. He even gave us a sample of one of the side dishes to make sure we liked it. Everything on the menu sounded great, I got the grilled snapper with rice and coleslaw for the sides. Came to this place on a recommendation to get some local wild fish. We were created by 2 alligators. Of course anyone who lives in okeechobee knows alligators are in the wild everywhere here. We sat down to a rather empty place. I think people eat later here. Greated by a spirited waiter. He was very pleasant. The menu is extensive with all sorts of seafood. From fish tacos to grilled wild snapper. Several sides as well. My wife and I had the snapper and one other friend ordered the wild grouper. We also had the seafood chowder which was some of the best I have ever eaten. They could had used a little more meat. The dinner came and we ordered the 4oz portion but there is an 8 oz too. It was plenty along with rice and cole slaw and a copious amount of Fred broccoli. I couldn't had been more pleased for. $14 meal. They have several grea desert entries but not today. The meal was very filling. By the way we came back a second time and it was just as good the second time. Great experience and I recommend giving them a visit. read more
