They also quoted me a price that was much much less than the other companies. It turned out to be a lot more worth than was originally planned, but the guys that came out worked on this for hours on end and actually had to come back the next day to finish it up. So much time was put into this, and they explained to me what all was done, why, and gave me a lot of great recommendations for what to do with my roof in the future. What they did for me were roof repairs on about a 10 year home. The real reason Southern Star should be a must call for homeowners is I have solar panels. There was some roof damage, caused by squirrels, that precipitated us needing roof repairs. Well, if you have a solar array on your home just getting someone to just look at it has its challenges. Southern Star was the only company I got a response. The only one out of 5. Sure there are logistics to work through when you have solar panels. At the end of the day, the quote given was very reasonable and they were able to do the necessary repairs ASAP. Just surprises all around. If you need repairs on your roof, you should not hesitate to put Southern Star at the top. They are truly super stars in a business that may not have the best of reputations. Thanks to you all.

The estimate was scheduled promptly and the estimator Rhett was friendly and professional. Their estimate was in the middle of the 3 we received, but $2,000 higher than the roofing company we hired to install our new roof. When I texted Rhett to tell him we had gone with a roofing company whose estimate was more budget friendly for us, within moments I received a hard sell text telling me how the brand of shingles they used were far superior to any other brand of shingles out there and that I needed to consider that in making my decision. Believe me since this was the first new roof on my house in 25+ years I did my research on shingle brands and didn't choose a roofing company using some bargain basement brand of shingles! That $2,000 we saved is now more money that we are able to spend on other needed house projects.

He and his crew found problems that the drone initially missed. His estimate was equally detailed, and included high-quality architectural shingles and underlying materials. The job, in April, took his crew 2 days, including trim repairs. Given the size and steepness of the roof this was amazing. I cannot stress enough the professionalism, and camaraderie, of Phillip and his crew. They prepped meticulously (tarps everywhere including over pool) and cleaned up debris (using some nifty robotic machines) quickly as stripping and then shingling progressed. Multiple magnet sweeps throughout and afterwards. The quality of the roofing process as well as the trim repairs reflected their expertise and experience. Kyle replaced the pipe boot while at my house and showed me pictures of my roof and answered all our questions about the condition of our roof. We were expecting to hear our roof needed to be replaced and instead found out it was in much better shape than we expected from a 20 year old roof.

They did provide the name of this company that they were representing, as well as the address. My number is on the do not call list, and I have never done business with Best Roofing, or the Roofing Contractors Network. I would not recommend any business that partners with a cold call agency, especially when they do not bother to check the do not call registry. I can only hope that a negative review will cause the owners to reconsider using a cold call agency in the future. Recommendations and quality work should be enough to gain business, cold calls will drive it away.

However, I thought it necessary to give Matt at Evergreen a big shout-out for his estimate process on 9/11/18 for several highlighted reasons: 1) Aside from the roofer we went with, Matt was the only other one who investigated the leak from the inside. I had offered the same option to the first 2 companies who gave estimates, & even to the insurance company's roof inspector, but all declined. Plus, Matt asked about looking at the interior of the leak area before I even advised of the crawlspace option. 2) Matt only sold me on fixing just the leaky area and resulting rot, rather than re-flashing the whole roof line, which had been the go-to (and more expensive) fix thrown out by others. 3) Matt was generous enough to throw together a makeshift patch while he was there, since Hurricane Florence was approaching that weekend and we weren't going to be able to get the leak fixed ahead of the storm. 4) Above all, Matt was nice and respectful, and gave off a very trustworthy vibe just from a few minutes of interaction. A re-read of his other reviews showed many experiences similar to mine with above & beyond work, but without overselling or fixing unnecessary things. Are they going to clean up after themselves ? No worries with this company they were finished in one day, had two downpours no leaks !!! My main concern was the cleanup didn't need the horses stepping on any nails, and any nails in the pool, they went over the property with magnets I did find a few but I'm very happy with using them !
