The associate I spoke with talked with me at length about the item before offering me a bit less than I was looking for. He was willing to listen to me as I complained about his offer and told him about how the item was the top model for what it was. He was patient with me while I rambled about what made the item special and why he should offer me more for it. He went off, did some research on the item then came back and told me that he appreciated me being honest with him, that it was indeed the top model for that item and that it did indeed have all the bells and whistles I had mentioned. Apparently people like to bring in stuff and make grandiose claims that don't hold true. He made me an offer I was happy with and we were able to make a deal. Friendly, patient, helpful staff. I'd do business here again!

I contacted Blake Petersen of Clock and Instrument. After a period of calls and coordinating calendars, I was finally able to get this clock to him. Master clockmakers are not abundant. Meeting him was an absolute pleasure. He was kind and gentle with his explanation of what he does, how he came about tending clocks big and small and what he could do for my clock. I could tell how much he took pride in his work. He restored my clock, explained how to keep it running and encouraged me to call if there were more questions. His invoice was lower than I would have expected from a journeyman in these current times. I was absolutely enamored with his skill and kindness. It feels like the store doesn't want to sell stuff, they put limits on how much you can buy (there's signs everywhere saying limit of 3), nothing is on sale anymore (they do 30% off plates instead of 30% off kitchen) . Absolutely no thanks to all that. If I'm going to a store to buy plates, I probably also want other kitchen supplies as well. I refuse to pay full sticker price at a store like NPS where the boxes are severely damaged and where it's a 50% probability that the item is damaged. They don't do many weekly sales anymore so It's incredibly rare lately to find anything at a great price, the prices at NPS are the same on Amazon. Without the additional percentage off, it doesn't make sense to buy from NPS. The only things you can actually get a good deal on is their almost expired food.

The majority of the store appears to be clothing and household goods. There's also accessories, shoes, groceries, electronics and a little bit of furniture. My favorite part of the store is in the back corner called "Collectibles." This is where you'll find name brand clothing, handbags, watches and sunglasses. I had to restrain myself from buying $260 Jimmy Choo shoes, but they were a half size off and a little more worn that I would prefer. Most items in the store are new, but the collectible section does have pre-owned things as well.

Several years ago, while on a Caribbean cruise, I purchased a Fruitz Phillip Stein Natural Frequency Watch with a black rubber band. Recently, the integral black rubber band broke. I visited several well-known jewelers in our SW Florida community who stated that the band was irreplaceable. Those jewelers recommended returning the watch to the manufacturer, taking the watch to the jeweler in the Caribbean for potential replacement, or disposing of the watch. One jeweler wanted a down-payment of several hundred dollars with an additional unspecified charge of likely several hundred dollar for a new band plus repair fees, all of which far exceeded the $300 initial cost of the watch. I searched the internet for Fruitz Phillip Stein Watch Repair, and found the Times Ticking website. Times Ticking has been in business over 40 years, guaranteed their work, had great reviews, and provided thorough instructions. I completed their on-line form, received an immediate response with a job number, packed my watch, and sent the watch to Times Ticking by UPS with a tracking number. I received a call from Times Ticking on the day my watch arrived at their store. They gave me a price estimate for band and battery replacement as well as recommending some refurbishment, all at a very reasonable inclusive price that included return insured mailing. They completed the repairs in a reasonable amount of time, contacted me that they had shipped the watch by certified USPS, and sent me the tracking number. The watch arrived and a few days later. Times Ticking called to check on receipt of the watch and my satisfaction. Times Ticking far exceeded all of my expectations. They are prompt, conscientious and provide exceptional service. If I could I would give Times Ticking zero stars. I wish I had done more research and read the negative yelp reviews before sending my two Bulova clocks to them for repair. They only post 5 star reviews on their website. Very much like the review Robert C. from Seattle, WA sent in on 12/3/21, repair estimates from Jared were totally inflated. First it was $277 per clock, then $150+, after that he said would call back with another estimate. I waited and when he didn't call, I sent an email. Jared responded with a final estimate of $84.00 each. The first two estimates are not noted in the repair notes. I checked around Oahu and repair shops there said they could replace the movement for $25 to $43 per clock. So I declined their services and paid another $30 to have the clocks returned. I certainly hope the clocks are shipped back in good condition, before I fly to Oahu again. I would not recommend Times Ticking to anyone! Very poor business practices. read more

Back in 1991, our son, Tom won a major bike race called the "Tour of Nutley" (NJ) that was a prelude to the National Championship race in Philadelphia. Among the prizes he was presented with was a Ferrari watch, made by Cartier, which he gave to me. I wore it proudly for a couple of years until the battery died. There was no local jeweler who could open the case so it went into a drawer. I also noted that one of the stems was missing - a common problem with this watch. Lately I've been trying to find a place that could restore the watch - imagining what the insides would be like after 20+ years of battery corrosion. A place in Utah called "Times Ticking" assured me that the watch could be restored and they could find the correct parts. I brought my new smart watch in to replace a band. Carson greeted me and replaced the band in under a minute at no charge. I was impressed with his skills and careful handling of my watch. So impresssed that I returned the same day with a $700 Bulova watch that stopped working 7 years ago. I left the watch with him and a few hours later he had completed the work, got my prized watch working perfectly and even polished the band and crystal. I paid a nominal charge for that work and am extremely please to have a watch I bought in 2014 working perfectly once again. Please consider Carson for a bonus or, better still, a raise in his pay! My wife had a pin fall out of her watch, so I took it back to the jewelry store from which it was purchased. They wanted to send it out to the manufacturer, but said I would have to pay for the repairs and it would take a while to get it back. Even though the extended warrantee was also purchased on this specific piece of jewlery, I was going to have to pay more. So I opted to go to Times Ticking and see if they could do something for me. Walked in and was promptly greeted by Jake and he was able to swiftly repair her watch with no delay. He made her day now she can wear it again. I went in to get a new battery for a watch my wife bought me on Wed the 4th of Sept, at the Times Ticking in the Newgate Mall in Ogden, Utah. Simon was the only one in the store and his service to me as a customer was impeccable. He looked me in the eye as he spoke, engaged me with product service information, took the time to smile, and engaged me as a human being rather than some electronic device. He listened intently to my needs and requests, and told me how long his services would take and he held to that time frame. They contacted me as soon as they received my watch to discuss what the issue was and to make suggestions for additional items that they could address as well. The price was reasonable considering the age of the watch. They completed the work in the stated amount of time. I recently sent a Seth Thomas Quartz Colebrook Wall Clock to Times Ticking for repair. They notified me when they received it and after a few days they called me to tell me what needed to be done and the cost to do it. They had to fix it with more modern parts as the age of the clock (approximately 50 years old) meant that original parts were no longer available. Within a few weeks the work was done and they notified me that it was being returned. It came quickly, was safely packaged, and was immediately place in its home space on my living room wall. Excellent service. Megan contacted me by phone the day my watch arrived and Jesse started work on my repair immediately. MY Wittenauer had not been working for YEARS and I couldn't find anyone in my area (Washington State) willing to even look at it. Jesse not only cleaned and repaired it but put a new sapphire Crystal in it. Jesse kept me I formed every step of the way. Sent my Bulova watch in for repair based on reviews, In about a week they called me with a reasonable price and I agreed to have the watch repaired. Normally I just toss broken electronics and by new, but this watch is special so I agreed to the repair. There was some confusion at the store and I had to call to ask the status of my watch repair. I got a call back the next day with an apology and explanation. My watch was returned in the next couple of days looking brand new and working perfectly. I am very pleased. What a blessing to know that folks like Times Ticking still exist. Old school customer service; people that you can actually carry a conversation with. Wow! I sent them a watch for repairs because I couldn't find anyone locally to repair it; it was just a G-Shock Aviator. They called me back within a few days, gave me my estimate, fixed the watch, and returned it to me within a couple of weeks. Found this company online for repair of my usual watch. Had tired all the usual tricks at home, but they decided that it needed a professional. Had to mail away to get an prompt estimate, that seemed fair given that so much of the interior was damaged, and then received the watch nice as new within a month. Friendly, thorough and honest. I sent them my watch to get it repaired and long story short, Bulova stopped making repair parts for my watch. I had already paid for the repair so the owner called me and informed me that he could refund my money or I could use it towards the purchase of a new watch. He even gave me a little money for the watch itself, as a trade-in, so I took him up on his offer and bought a new watch. Jared is a terrific guy and quite communicative, but their repair service is terribly slow. Don't send your watch to them for repair unless you have months to wait. I sent them my Breitling Superocean six weeks ago for a new crystal and I still do not have it back. Jared advises that they are fixing the detent as well at no charge, but has no idea how long it could take to get the watch back to me as they cannot give estimates on time. I had a Citizen Kenneth Cole automatic Skeleton Watch. I drop the watch on my ceramic tile floor at home and it stopped working. I sent the watch to Times Ticking and paid the $90.00 to get it fixed. While my local jeweler/watch repair shop wouldn't touch it, Times Ticking didn't hesitate to repair my Casio G-shock. While the repair was a bit expensive, my model of watch is no longer available and I have worn it EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST 10-12 YEARS! I also didn't want to deal with pushy sales people or being talked into anything else. I tried to go to Shane Co in Midvale, but they had over an hour long wait to meet with a sales consultant! We were driving home when we decided to stop into Ari's in Layton. We told them we were looking at simple wedding bands and they pointed us to the case. They gave us our time to look over everything by ourselves and didn't bother us until we asked to look at a couple items. They were friendly and not pushy at all. The prices were incredibly fair and they were quick to give us a little discount. We purchased the ring and they had it sized for me by the next day. I'm not a huge jewelry gal, but if I ever need something else in the future I will definitely stop at Ari's first.
