I need to give a big shout out to Rae in Layton. I brought a 35 year old grandmother clock in two years ago to be fully serviced. They told me it would be about a year because it had to go to the master clockmaker and he was backed up. I was fine with that. A year went by and I called to follow up...my clock wasn't ready and they were having trouble reaching the clockmaker. This made me a little nervous. Three times the clockmaker has promised to have my clock ready in less than two weeks. Three times this has not happened. It has now been 23 months. I started to get a little panicked about the whereabouts of my clock. Last week I spoke to Rae and finally felt like there was hope. Friday Rae called to let me know that my clock would be in by 7pm the next day (which was yesterday). At 7:25pm last night I got a call saying that my clock had come in. I waited until today to pick it up so that I could actually go in when Rae was working so that I could go in and give a personal thank you. And, for my trouble, I was given a discount that made up for some of my worry and frustration. Come to find out, repairing the clock had given the clockmaker a large amount of trouble (probably because my parents never had it cleaned or cared for while it hung in my childhood home). If he just would have relayed that information throughout the process maybe I could have been a bit more tolerant. I have always had wonderful service at Times Ticking in Layton. I am blessed than pleased with the customer service of the clockmaker, but Rae gets a huge thumbs up from me for making the best of a REALLY bad situation. Took my 31 day clock into the Layton store, agreed to the quoted price for the repair, and left. 20 Days later, I was told the repairs were complete and my clock was ready for pick-up. Imagine my dispeasure when I returned home with my clock and discovered I'd just paid $270 and nothing had been done. I returned with the clock and, after being told I needed to wait three days for a refund, confronted the manager. If I managed a business, I believe I'd check on the quality of my employees'/sub-contractors' work occasionally, but this character seemed to consider it an imposition and was truly incensed that I had the temerity to interrupt his Friday afternoon as he seemed quite eager to leave. Quite bluntly, he came across as an absolute unmitigated ass with no concept of the term "customer service". As a retired Army Sergeant Major, "No" is a term I don't react to very well. I moved to Ogden, UT. from TEXAS four years ago. I do not have any personal transportation, so I have to use the public Bus. Needed my watch battery changed so I though of going to New Gate Mall, at Sear's. They did not have the tool to change batteries, but recommended Times Ticking. It only took Alyssa one and a half minutes to provide me with a working watch!!! About a week later, the loop on my watch band brook off. Jokingly, I went back to Jake & Alyssa saying; "I had to come back before my six monthly warranty expires". Jake was Extremely patient with this seventy-one year old Veteran, in helping me find the perfect new watch band. And again it only took Alyssa less than a minute to change my watch band!!! I mailed my watch (with a broken crystal - my fault) from Massachusetts to Times Ticking in Utah the end of February. Within a week I received a call from Jared with a quote that seemed fair and was told it would be one to two weeks. When I did not receive the watch after two weeks, I sent them an email asking for an update. The next day Jared called and explained that not only had I broken the crystal but apparently the movement was damaged as well. Jesse from Times Ticking had ordered a replacement movement and was repairing the watch for no additional charge. The delay was waiting for the second part. I must say that I was hesitant about sending my Lacoste watch from New Jersey to Utah, not knowing anything about this company. The watch has sentimental value as it was a gift from my daughter. I have to say that I'm very glad that I took the risk. My own local jeweler told me he didn't even feel it was worth to send out for repair as it would be to expensive even for his repairman to look at. Well was he ever wrong. The experience was exceptional. They kept me informed throughout the entire process through emails and phone calls. They offered additional services, but when I declined they just completed the work that I agreed to. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of watch repair. I had sent 2 watches in to be repaired...They did so and sent them back to me. One of them worked for only a day, so I contacted them and they told me to send it back...I did so, and it turned out that someone ripped open the package that I mailed , and stole the watch...They contacted me and sent me pictures of the package that was ripped open. They looked for a replacement watch for me and called me to tell me that they found a new replacement watch for me....These people replaced my stolen watch with a new one, that costs twice as much as the repair was( without charging me ).....Now, that is OUTSTANDING customer service !! Something that rarely exists anymore....I will always use them in the future and will recommend them to everyone I know.... read more

I live in NJ. I went to a "Watch Repair" shop at a huge nearby mall to repair an ESQ watch, the first gift my wife ever gave me. They said they would have to send it out. I figured I could do that myself and cut out the middle man so I found Time's Ticking online and decided I'd give them a shot. The watch has sentimental value so I was nervous but they did what they advertised they would do. I was called within days of mailing it confirming they had received it and that they would follow up with an estimate, which they did. My watch is fixed and the price was what I expected. I've never had any issues with the Newgate location. The staff is always able to answer any questions and have been able to track down and order watches that weren't in stock. I brought in a couple of watches today for minor service and am very pleased with the timeliness and careful attention paid to these watches. One was a cheap generic, while the other was a nicer Skagen. Lexi took care of them both as carefully as if they were my Maurice Lacroix. I can't say anything about the Layton location, as I have never been there, but Newgate is always a great stop. read more

I dropped off my watch to be cleaned and replace a couple of pins (they had to make them because it's titanium) on the band, luckily Times Ticking has their own lab/work shop were they took care of me in their store and didn't ship it out. The part I lined the best was they beat the commitment of four days and had complete the next day!! Jared helped answering all my questions complete and seemed to be very knowlagable! My Seth Thomas clock is a family heirloom - it was given to my grandfather in the 1950's as a recognition for his community service. It fell from my fireplace mantel and was damaged. I was fortunate to find Times Ticking on the Internet. They did a wonderful job repairing and restoring my clock which now sits proudly on my mantel again. I took my Nixon 51-30 to get a new battery, jake did awesome explaining everything that would be done to my watch, cleaned it all up and re-sealed it. I was thinking it would take a day or two to do, but was done in less than an hour while I shopped around. He also took the time to explain what all 3 dials did on my watch since I had no idea... I took my Victorinox watch in for a battery replacement. After the technician replaced the battery the watch would not restart. I called the owner and he sent my watch in for repair, returning it as good as new, with a new movement. I really don't know what happened to stop the watch, but the owner made it right. Rae was also very helpful in helping to service the watch and return it to me. I appreciate a business making things right when there are uncertainties - shows the character of the owners. Have a wonderful Officer's Square Face Swiss Army Watch for many years that sudden;y stopped working. Took it to my jeweler who has changed the battery over time and discovered it's not the battery & sadly was unable to repair it; in fact, no one in the SF Bay Area could work on it. I googled Swiss Army watch repair, contacted Time's Ticking w/my problem & sent them the watch. I was delighted to be promptly called upon receipt w/resonable repair estimate and 2 weeks later my watch returned home and works beautifully. read more

Rae from the Layton Mall removed some links from a watch that was too large for me last night and was super helpful, nice, and quick! It was great to be able to walk in somewhere and have the watch fixed for me right away. I'm not a huge clock/watch person but know if I have questions or need some quick fixes, I'll ask Times Ticking for their advice first. My husband's expensive Festina watch was sent to them because all the places I've tried locally could not fix the problem. I made sure I've kept all pictures, shipping papers just in case. They've called and advised it would cost $236.00 to fix it and 3 weeks t.a.t. After we've agreed on the cost and return it took less time then predicted. Just simply needed to change bands for my old watch. Alvin greeted me cheerfully, and made the changes, which were more difficult than I had thought.
