While I was waiting, they replaced four batteries for customers (only $5 each). One customer dropped his watch off and said I'll be back in a week. This was the BEST experience. These people are very honest! I took in two watches, one needed the band adjusted and the other wasn't working. As it turned out is was working and did not need repair. They could have taken it in, charged me the labor for inside cleaning, etc. but he told me it was running fine. He took time to take a link out of my watchband and then do an additional adjustment, no charge. I asked how much it would be if it does stop running, he said $150. (very reasonable). As it turns out it is now running fine but I would have just left it there and paid the $150. had he not have been so honest. I highly recommend this business. I love this place!! The gentlemen working here are the best! I've been in on two separate occasions in the past three years. When I was in today I was bringing in my watch that I dropped which resulted in the back of the watch refusing to go back on. I handed my watch over and the gentleman told me it would be a minute or so. There were quite a few people in the shop at the time. A few minutes later I was given my repaired watch back with an explanation of what the problem was. When I asked how much I owed he told me nothing. The previous time I came in I needed a link for a watchband and he replaced it free of charge!! I heard both gentlemen returning repaired watches to customers at no charge! They totally know their stuff and are quick and efficient! I wish more places were like Timekeepers!! I highly recommend their shop!!! read more

Timekeepers in Encinitas replaced batteries in 9 of my watches last year, and all of the batteries failed within a week to 4 weeks. One died in 3 days. I went back to have some replaced last year and they died also. I went back today to revisit this issues and I had my Mom on the phone to tell her side as well for I had her watches done at the same time. Well they refused to replace any of the batteries and all of the batteries they installed were 5 years old or more, and that is why they failed. I use to love this place, but not so much anymore. I have also tried to get them to work on my Anonimo or Panerai watches in the past and they just laughed and said no, and yet the movements are very easy to work on because they are ETA movements, thus they are WATCH SNOBS, and I have heard the same things via some of my friends as well. He called me a liar in front of his customers and I told him that my Mom sat right next to your Dad on the airplane right before he passed away, and he was a good guy, and you guys took over his stock, so you must have been selling old batteries becaues I didn't come in here 5 years ago, and you know it. I have been a customer of theirs for decades and this has happened before but they always stood behind their word, but I won't ever come back anymroe and they will get nothing but bad word of mouth from me from here on out. They also dented the caseback on my favorite car club watch today and now I'm really upset for that can't be replaced or fixed. They could of offered to replace the batteries at a discount or something, but they didn't offer anything except for me to go and get a 2nd opinion. Buyer beware :-( read more

They were extremely patient with me when I couldn't decide which band to pick. They replaced it in 5 minutes, shined the face and charged me $20 for EVERYTHING. All the 5 star reviews are true! I went in to have my watch battery replaced. I had my sleepy toddler in my arms (it was about time for her nap). The gentleman behind the counter fixed my watch in under a minute and said, "that will be five dollars." Unfortunately, I realized at that moment that I only had credit/debit cards with me - no cash. I offered to run out and get cash from the bank but he said with a smile, "don't worry about it, get your little one home for a nap!" That was two weeks ago and I'm finally put $5 in the mail to them as a thank you. This is customer service at it's finest - the way it must have been during my grandparents' time. I took 4 watches in this morning that needed new batteries and some adjustments to the bands. I expected to hear a time when I could pick them up the following week. He did everything including set them to proper times and dates in under 5 minutes. Total was $15. I asked if they took credit cards and he said "No, just mail a check or drop it by next time you are near here." Wow!!! I went to my bank and stopped back 5 minutes later. I left a $20 on the counter and told him thank you for the excellent service. When I was driving out of the parking lot he chased me down and snuck a $5 bill into my window as change. This place is just the best. Last time my "fancy" watch broke I had to bring it to the jeweler I bought it from, they mailed it to Canada, got it fixed, mailed it back, I picked it up. It cost me $50. Time Keepers fixed my watch on the spot and didn't charge me a penny. Now I WANT my watch to break so I can go in there and actually PAY them something - Such a great shop...
