While waiting on the batteries, I was chatting with Andy about my wedding ring and how the white gold prongs had yellowed with age. He introduced me to a service in which he was able to treat the white gold with something that turned it back to its original silver tone. Took a Buliva watch in for crown and stem replacement, after they became dislodged from watch. The watch was kweping time, without the crown and stem. After almost three months (jeweler waiting for oem parts after generic parts did not fit), I was told watch was repaired and working. It wasn't working. Took the watch in again and the battery was replaced. I was told the watch was working and again, it was not. Took the watch back today and told it probably needs a new movement, as the battery was replaced. Movement for this Bulova is expensive. They turned a beautiful watch into a bracelet. I googled if replacing a crown and stem could affect a movement and this is the answer, "Yes, replacing a stem and crown directly affects the watch's movement. If the wrong stem length or crown is installed, it can fail to engage the gears, grind down delicate internal parts, or allow moisture inside.". I would say they are okay for battery replacement maybe, but do no not have them do repairs. read more

Walked in yesterday to get a battery replaced. The guy , miserable looking fellow, that worked immediately put out a negative vibe. The Middle East daggers in your eyes look. I asked if it was $10. He said " no, it's $15" " it must be a long time since you been here" I said about a year. He says " last year was $12" At that point I should have left but didn't unfortunately. I just wanted the battery changed. After he changed it he hands it to me I pay the absurd price and asks if I'd like my receipt. I say yes. As I proceeded out the door the jerk says "see you next year" I said let's hope your prices don't go up. He says I hope they go up to $20. This a-hole will never get my business again. He was this way because the old man, his father no doubt , wasn't there. The old man is the complete opposite of this contemptible pos. Don't go here. They don't appreciate your business. Maybe he'd be better off back in Cairo. read more

Recently the crystal fell out of my watch so I took it in. Andrew took the back cover off the watch, examined the movement and placed the crystal back for no charge. I noticed some jewelery in the display case and bought a gold chain and pendant for my wife. When I got home, I noticed the watch had stopped and would not run. I returned and Andrew said that it would need cleaning and service for $200 which was almost as much as the jewelery I bought. I mentioned he had replaced the crystal, cleaned and serviced my watch for under $100 a couple of years ago but he was adamant on the cost. Thinking back, it was sketchy that he removed the back to set the crystal. Very disappointed in this experience as I have previously bought a Seiko Beatles Wall clock and other products and services over the years. read more

I am actually unsure if any "work" is actually done in-store. They advertise that they can change batteries and crystals on the premises. They quote you a very good price and a very good turn-around time. After being promised that the "part" will come in in a few days, they then say that it will take two weeks. At this point, I asked for the watch back. Guess what? The watch was "mistakenly" sent to a repair company, even though they just told me that the "part" was on its way. One of the employees keep holding and wiping a watch (seemingly doing repairs), but if you look closely, no repair is being done. It is all for show. Given my experience with my watch being sent out for three instead of the two weeks they later promised (after promising a wait of "a few days"), it seems they have contracted with a third party company to do the repairs. Also, when I, finally, was called to pick up the watch, the quoted $30 was raised to $50+. I questioned this and they said it was tax! I said I have never heard of a $20 tax on a $30 tab. They then said because they changed the battery; to which I asked why they had to change the battery. They said because the watch was dead when I handed it to them. I denied this, because that is the truth. The watch was running when I dropped it off. I did not budge and they settled for the actual quote they gave me in the beginning of this nightmare transaction. My suggestion: look at your watch's brand's website. Chances are they won't charge for a new battery and, in my case, I would have paid the same $30 (with the assurance that the crystal actually came from the watch's original manufacturer). Besides, since this so-called "repair store" mails out your watch to the third-party repair shop, then you, yourself, can also do the same by mailing it to the actual manufacturer. The only reason I chose to go with them is because they advertised that they will repair in-store. That did not happen in my case; and I doubt it happens to other customers, as well. Fine, I guess, if you are purchasing a battery for a watch, however, I took a beautiful necklace to have it repaired after the chain had broken, and they took it before Christmas and said that they would have it fixed before Christmas. After going in to pick it up numerous times, they have said they couldn't find it, they said the owner had gone on vacation, they said it was probably locked in their safe and couldn't get it out,--many, many excuses. It is now January 17 and it is still missing. No apologies, no replacement, nothing. Would no longer recommend this place if you are leaving something valuable there... read more

These guys are ok if all you want is a battery. After 3 days waiting for a call & repair quote for my watch (in for a minor repair to the band/clasp) and no phone call I called them to inquire, they said they had "not ordered the part yet", and told me they could sell me a new bracelet for $350. I reminded him all I needed was the $11 clasp spring. He told me it would be "another week or so". After 11 work days and no call I decided to just go in and get my watch and take it somewhere else for repair. After waiting in line for 20 minutes I asked for my watch back. They said "oh" the part had "just come in". $64 for an $11 spring ( he did install it). These guys seem bored and rude/arrogant, just going for quick money. Batteries? - no problem. Might be fine for buying watches and simple watch repairs, but my husband took a ring in for resizing. They said they send it out for sizing but they can do it. The stone in the ring is lapis lazuli, and the metal is silver. They only did a fair job on the resizing ( a little uneven), and the stone came back VERY dull. It doesn't even look good any more. The store did not offer a discount for the mess they made on the stone. The resizing cost $30, and in my opinion, the store should have offered a discounted price for messing up the stone. I would not recommend this place for ANY jewelry repair. Replace a battery or watchband, I'm sure they're fine. UPDATE: I did go back and they did make good on the messing up of the stone. I upgraded my star rating to 3 instead of 2. Andrew was very nice about correcting the mistake. read more
