This firm wasted my Saturday afternoon. Set up a residential appointment (and also got a confirmation email from them) and was given a large window of 1-5pm. No call, no email, nothing, just a no show. First time reaching out to this service and the LAST time. Don't waste your time, just avoid. CORRECTION: They called just after 5pm to l"let me know" they would be running late. I told them to forget it. This is the second time I've used them. First was 5 years ago. The price is right. I had 1 bin worth of paper. He was in and out. Worth the cost, and the time I saved by bringing it somewhere else. Called on a Thursday, requested that they fill out a COI, for a scheduled appointment the next day with a 4 hour window of 9am-1pm. They approved the appointment, but never got back to me about the COI, had to call back the next day to request it again before they finally sent it. I specifically checked to make sure they were still on time, and was told they'd definitely arrive within the window, were even a little combative that I'd even question the delivery window. Sure enough, 1pm rolls around, I call to ask where they are, they say they'll get back to me. 15 minutes later I call again, they tell me they're at least a few hours away so I cancelled my appointment. Highly unprofessional, and I would strongly advise against using them. read more

Awesome! Anthony drove over in the huge shredder truck and brought a large bin to my apartment which fits 10 bankers boxes worth of paper. We loaded the bin and he wheeled it to the shred truck. The truck picks up the bin and dumps the contents into the giant shredder while you watch on a screen via a video camera. You also get to see the output of shredder on the screen. This is an excellent document shredding service. I am retired in a residential coop building in Bklyn. I needed to get rid of old and cold work and personal files. Spoke to Joe and Megan at office. They gave me a 4-hour window on day I chose. Augustine arrived on time after calling when he was on his way. He was efficient, resourceful, polite, and super strong. He himself emptied about 12 storage boxes and 10 redwelds of all types of paper with staples, clips and other fasteners into his 96-gallon container. He navigated the container skillfully within my apartment, the coop hallways and the elevator with no damage. Our coop requires moving like this to go to the basement level where Augustine pushed the container, which I estimate weighed 250-300 pounds, up the ramp himself to the street level, even though I offered to have a porter from our building help him. I want Augustine on my football team! As advertised, I watched on a video screen at the truck as the container contents were dumped into the truck and shredded. My dox actually filled one and 1/2 containers so the all-inclusive price was $165, which I think is very reasonable for the service, convenience and peace of mind. I drove there and dropped over shredding (note you need to call first). Overall, it worked out well - definitely check out the street view so you know you are at the right place. It's a giant brick building with no windows. The loading dock area will have some dudes there to help you. read more

As far as using Time Shred for New Jersey..I would say NOT!! I'm small business but residential... Promised Friday pick up between 9 and 1...then told truck had problem...maybe be 2...I agreed to Saturday pick up. They said between 2 and 4....and never picked up next. Left messages asking for Monday pickup with call back and nothing from them....called again spoke to person that I was familiar with and she said it wasn't her and switched me to voicemail.....no way to run business for sure!!!......Went with other company in New Jersey Much More Professional and the job was done immediately.... I agree with another reviewer about the scheduling issues. When they show up they get the job done but that's the problem. One time I called to schedule them and when they didn't show up I canceled only to have the guy show up hours later. Yesterday I scheduled them to come today between 9 & 1. At almost 1:00 I called to find out when they were coming & was told it was recorded for 2-5 when I specifically asked for a morning slot. Then I was told they would come between 4 & 5. At almost 5 I called & they said it would be another hour. When I expressed my anger at wasting an entire day they said they would schedule me for first thing the next morning. I wasn't about to waste another day so I canceled. I've used them off & on for a few years, didn't use them as often because of the scheduling issues but after today I will be looking for another service. read more

NO SHOW - Based on today's experience, where TIME SHRED SERVICES did not show up for their appointment with us, and no one called us even after our follow-up e-mails and phone calls, this is a company that does not respect nor value their customers;,nor is invested in providing an acceptable level of customer service and DOES NOT KEEP ITS WORD. Our initial contact with TIME SHRED SERVICES was with Rosemarie who answered Time Shred's phone . Megan who she referred me to was efficient and initially attentive -- she sent me a quote by e-mail - However, based on today's NO SHOW - WE RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY FROM this company. After setting up an appointment, confirming it again by phone and by e-mail and having Megan confirm we were on for today, Monday, July 3, 2017 - between 9:00 am to 1:00 pm nobody showed up and we did not receive a call from anyone at this company to let us know of delays or issues. We sent a follow-up e-mail after 1PM to check in on why the delay and we called their office up after 3:00 pm and spoke with Rodney who said we were on the list, couldn't offer an explanation for the no-show, didn't apologize and rushed us off the phone letting us know the driver would call us. Driver did not call. NO ONE CALLED US. We waited the entire day, took time off to be available for this appointment. Not any one from TIME SHRED SERVICES called us this entire day. We called 5 times more and all we got was a voice mail recording and not anyone to speak with. Their recording indicated we could leave our message in the general mailbox. - Based on today's experience, TIME SHRED SERVICES is a company that does not keep its word and does not value or respect its customers. read more

We've used a few different shredding services, this was by far the best (and cheapest!). We were able to book service for the same week (previous services only had availability for 2+ weeks later). They didn't cancel, and they came on time (the last two services we used both rescheduled). Our building has annoying freight elevator times, which is hard to work with, but the driver was super nice about it. Cheapest price by far. We will absolutely be using them in the future. read more

Well let's start by saying they definitely got the job done. I had a residential appointment for shredding and once they FINALLY got there all went well. It was quick and easy and as another reviewer mentioned you can watch the shredding on a monitor. I was able to pay with a credit card right there on the spot. Easy breezy. My issue is the time window that they gave me which was from 8-1 and the guy showed up around 1:45 pm. When I called that morning to confirm my appointment I was told I was the 4th appointment and they would be there around 10 or 11 am. Well now it's after 1 pm and nothing yet. I called the office back several times and was told that they were on the way. Just 20 more minutes. Ok well fast forward to over a hour later and he finally showed up after passing my apartment building and taking another 15 minutes to circle around and come back. As someone else mentioned no one in the office offered any compensation or discounts which I think would have been appropriate for wasting so much of my time. No apologies or anything. So to sum things up I was satisfied with the ease and convenience of the job they did but they really need to work on punctuality and promptness. They should realize that their customers time is valuable. If they get that corrected it would be 5 stars. read more

I requested a quote online 2 weeks ago and was contacted by Joe the following day and offered me a $79 quote for the 96 gallon bin. I apologize for forgetting the name of the driver that showed up at my door today (it could be Tom, not sure), but he was so helpful, and on time He helped me load up the entire bin in less than 3 minutes and explained the entire process and allowed me to watch the shredding process street level. I even got rid of a hard drive from an old computer for $10 more. In an instant, over 13 years of financial documents and other misc personal documents were destroyed. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received from beginning to end. Don't look anywhere else if you need this type of service. Shred-it quoted me over $250 for the same service and 2 other big name services (1 with a dinosaur logo) never even called me back. The driver was a little late to my apartment, but there was post-holiday backup and traffic. Lindley the driver was kind and explained the shredding process to me. Used them to shred years worth of financial papers. The minimum was $79 but they did let us know in advance that amount of paper we said we had was a lot less than what would fill into the bin and so we added more too it. A great chance to clean out closets -- they even took books. The only down side was that they came around 2 hours after they said they would. Used this company for the first time today and wow - what a great service. I just made the appointment yesterday (9.10.15) and I had an appointment range of between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The person (sorry, did not get his name) called me at around 10:50 to say on his way and arrived around 11:15. Filled up the 300 pound bin to the top, went down and watched on the little video monitor as it all got eaten up by the giant inside the truck. The gentleman who came was friendly, pleasant and professional. I needed to clean out my father's office after his death and called a few different places. Joe got right back to me when I requested a quote and he fully and clearly explained the process and cost. Not only were they the most reasonable but they only needed 24 hours notice. I emailed with questions several times and he always answered right away. Time shred truck was shredding at residential location on 164 westend on may 4/2014.. when asked about their written price policy - nobody could present it. the lady standing near truck was coming up with a price of a minimum 10 dollars per shopping cart (and it does not matter if it is small bag only) - again, this price was not written anywhere. they collect cash only without giving receipt.
