I highly prefer The New York Times for paid subscription. The Washington Post is a leading daily newspaper that serves the tri-state, metropolitan area of Washington, DC, parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia based in Washington, DC. Murrow, when the New York Times was a "newspaper of record" and the news sections of major papers were reasonably balanced. The Washington Post and Times don't lie, but their omissions of facts and important reporting create the equivalent in bias by omission. Think about this: no major paper revealed Trump's brazen acknowledgment of his strategies in his 2015 campaign book, "Crippled America". He said "I use the media as it uses me - to gain attention. And when I have that attention I use it for my purposes". Can you believe that he went on to say that " I make outrageous statements - and give them what they want . . " Had our media highlighted Trump's support for Democrats and former praise for Barack Obama's first year in office when he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination, it would have revealed his opportunism and lack of bona fides to conservatives that had increased influence on the Republican party. His campaign might have gone nowhere. Now that Chris Wallace is gone from Fox News it's hopelessly biased and sensation-oriented, lacking the occasional contrary opinions that are carried by the Post and Times. And those two papers have the staff and ability to do massive coverage of major issues when they choose to do so. So I thought Chris P. got our deplorable news situation right. Seeking the conservative perspective, I got far more depth from the Examiner than the Washington Times. Newsmax is so ideological I found it beyond the pale.

I'm not sure what the advertiser in the other post represented but considering Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, HSBC, Citibank and myriad other fortune 500s and large corporations have utilized their marketing platforms they must be doing something right as their marketing analysts are probably a bit more scrutinizing than "Jim". Additionally, readership figures is an audited measurement used by most journals with lengthy shelf lives - Jim obviously isn't in a marketing position or he would've known that. The fact he doesn't mention that he actually called any Embassies to see who they read is another factor that leads me to believe his investigative work is nothing more than sub-par. The Washington Diplomat is the only publication that is delivered AND read by the Diplomatic communities of Washington as well as the Federal Government, IMF, World Bank, United Nations and many of the other prestigious public sector institutions in Washington. I've seen their work and writers featured on prestigious news networks from Huffington Post to Fox News. They are a must read for anyone looking to tap into the powerful world of Foreign and International affairs here in Washington and I strongly recommend them for any advertiser looking to tap into the Diplomatic Communities, Federal Government and International Marketshare of the Greater Metropolitan DC area.

I had a 1 yr subscription to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). I could place delivery holds but only…read morefor 60 days. I put repeated holds over that last years and all of a sudden I was told my sub expired!?? But the reps I spoke to every 2 months told me I had extended my sub into the future! (I had about 9 months left of my year sub.) Dow Jones, will not budge. They are claiming all sorts of stuff that I didn't subscribe to (digital enhancements?!?) So they claim by sub is done. The reps I talked to every 2 months said otherwise. Shame on you for ending my legitimate, 9 month, subscription to the WSJ. EVERY rep confirmed my sub every 2 months when I called and asked about it! Obviously Dow Jones does not stand behind what their employees tell their customers! BUYER BEWARE! HORRIBLE, SLEAZY company that doesn't stand behind their product?!? (And seriously, how hard would it be to continue my subscription that I SHOULD still have?!? Easy to appease the customer IMHO!)
