I'm sorry, this is not about the PAPER, it's a review on a LOCAL BUSINESS (salon) called: Immortal Beloved....LMAO .... what is there to say about this salon...........WOW! I cannot SAY ENOUGH about how ENORMOUSLY SNOOTY, downright BITCHY & UNFATHOMABLY UNCONSCIENTIOUS this salon is, when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have NEVER in MY ENTIRE LIFE experienced SUCH HORRIBLE BOORISHNESS when it comes to serving the public! These girls ......... ........ & by "these girls" I WILL CLARIFY that this definition refers to the receptionists and frankly, whomever is running the show at this unbelievably crude salon. THIS definition DOES NOT REFLECT on the stylists OR the colorists..........(the ARTISTS; that basically MAKE the salon). Here's my history with "Immortal Beloved." I first made an appointment for a color treatment for the balayage technique in 2014. I had gone through one or two colorists prior to this appointment (b/c I am PICKY about "natural" colour & obviously, had not found one that truly satisfied my expectations, until IB). I did EXTENSIVE research online, read numerous reviews and finally made my decision to "try" Immortal Beloved. I am not one to make MANY decisions LIGHTLY. And when it comes to my HAIR............I DEFINITELY DO NOT make choices effecting this part of my self image, without doing my research. So I thought I was making a "good" choice when it came to IMBE.....(cillus)....... I had a really positive first experience with my hair colorist there. It was awesome. That's why I came back. My SECOND experience with IMBE, was different. I had previously taken the metro and walked from U ST to the salon. THIS time I DROVE. What a MISTAKE THAT WAS!! My appt,. was somewhere later in the day around 5/6pm & I was not used to driving into DC @ that hour, as I work in Reston/NoVa. Googlemaps appeared to have screwed up my directions to the salon, there was rush hour traffic to boot & after driving endless blocks to find a local parking space, I finally resorted to paying $20 for garage parking. Walking from the garage that I parked in, off of 14th St., I called IB to let them know that I might be a FEW minutes later than my appt., (they have a 15 min "leeway" period; I might mention that it took me an HOUR & a HALF!!!!! to get from NoVa to U St; given traffic from NoVa into DC IN ADDITION TO ........ 20-30 mins time towards finding a potential parking spot). ONE HOUR & A HALF driving & finding parking time + $20 to park! So I call to let them know that I'm LITERALLY like......2-5 mins (MAX) away and WALKING UP 14th Street; ON MY WAY. They didn't hesitate to let me know that their "policy" was that if I were ONE MINUTE beyond the 15 that they allotted for anyone to be late, I would have to reschedule. ??? NICE. I've spent 1.5 hours getting here, $20 in parking and busting my ass to MAKE IT to the APPOINTMENT (much less on TIME) .........and you're telling me that I'm .......just gonna have to "try again" another time. LMAO...........yeah. That's true customer service ~ Now,..........I have had some real lessons in life that have taught me about INFLEXIBILITY and the negative effects of this rather UNATTRACTIVE quality (imho; b/c inflexibility is unattractive at ALL levels; physically, emotionally, mentally); so you can imagine my hackles being raised at the mention of this rather unpleasant militaristic approach. The rep @ the front desk for IB & I went back & forth for a min on this issue and I SIMPLY COULD NOT BELIEVE that they were WILLING to LOSE a CLIENT (a rather LOYAL one, mind you) over a FEW MINS to have sacrificed for my (in my own accountability) DISCREPANCY of time differential when it came to ignorance as to traffic & parking etc......in DC. I was just APPALLED at the INFLEXIBILITY in attitude with this company and furthermore.....the ARROGANT "BITCHY" ATTITUDE of the women that communicated their "policies" to me. LMAO.......these freakkin people...........just don't "get it." It took me 8+ MONTHS! To COMMIT to giving them ONE MORE SHOT at a possibility that I could become a regular customer. I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with this salon's ATTITUDE and it's LACK of Customer Service! There AREN'T WORDS to ILLUSTRATE my sense of disgust. Really. IF YOU are LOOKING for PRETENTION and CATTINESS in DC & in a salon & to perhaps "observe" what it IS to truly PREFORM like that of an AUTHENTIC BITCH.........I suggest Immortal Beloved is a PRIME SPOT for material research. While most if not ALL of DC landlords are in GROSS VIOLATION OF DC CITY CODES AND TENANT'S BILL OF RIGHTS! These are also the same landlords being sued by the DC AG; while the post and others bury that story. DCRA was a corrupt landlord leaning entity until they busted it up! So it's not a stretch at all to know that city govt is well in bed with the landlords in the city! It took me five months to realize that this joke of a newspaper do not deserve the right to be called that. They are not a newspaper, they are highly biased, one sided political activism outlet. Allow me to offer just one example to represent why this rotten tree serves no purpose. This specific news mentioned a protester shoot by a a person driving through the crowd. They also added a video of the moment the driver shoots the protester. The video they served didn't show something very important of course. The video didn't show that the minutes prior, an aggressive rioter punched the driver who in no way was trying to hurt the protester but merely trying to find a way out and then tried to pull the driver from his car. This complete video perfectly captured how aggressive the person attacking the driver was. This sums up 99% of the plates of s%$#t these fine pseudo news makers are cooking in this propaganda outlet. News mentioning Trump? Bad. Trump this, Trump that, and I just got sick of this long list of mentions of his crimes. I had the privilege of touring their newsroom while attending the University of Maryland in 2016, during the height of the presidential election. It was incredible to witness their coverage of the fiercely contested Republican and Democratic races. Seeing their hardworking journalists in action gave me a deep appreciation for the effort it takes to deliver quality news. As a digital subscriber (and occasional recipient of their print edition during special promotions), I've had a great experience with their services. Their content is timely, their interface is user-friendly, and even unsubscribing is a straightforward process, though I've never felt the need to stop my subscription. Amazing innovation leader. I have been reading the Washington Post ever since I was little. They have good deals on newspaper packages both print and digital. I am not sure why many people are not writing reviews but rather complaining on here, why complain about bias when everything is bias? What I do know is this is one of the top newspapers both locally and nationally and the fact that Jeff Bezos owns it does not change much.
